All of sudden, Ruthanne recalled Marianne bragging to her that she would be marrying into a wealthy family soon while they were at the hospital.
Was she referring to Theodoric? Was Marianne the woman in the CEO’s office yesterday?
That idea took Ruthanne aback. Everything that was happening in front of her was too dramatic.
“Did I say I wanted to stay with you?” Theodoric pushed Marianne away and glanced at the Forrests before looking at his driver for an answer.
His driver, sweating profusely, explained, “Mr. Lasker, when I went to pick up Ms. Marianne, she told me that you asked her to stay with you. That’s why I drove them here.”
“What’s going on?” Theodoric looked at Marianne with those sharp, frosty eyes of his, and it scared the wits out of everyone.
Marianne panicked and quickly took out a piece of paper from her pocket. “Theodore, you said you wanted to give me a home? Isn’t this your address?”
Theodoric was still as cold as before. “I did say that, but not now. You’re mistaken. The address is for Clear Bay Mansion, not here.”
Hearing that, Janice and Anson secretly heaved sighs of relief.
Looks like he has no idea that Marianne is related to Ruthanne. If that’s the case, what is Ruthanne doing at his house?
Tears filled Marianne’s eyes, and she put on a pitiful look. “Theodore, can’t I stay with you?”
