Marianne put on a demure expression and nodded. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have been so anxious. I just love you so much. I’ll patiently wait for you to marry me after your divorce, Theodore.”
She was afraid that Theodoric would go back on his word, so she indirectly brought up marriage again.
Theodoric pursed his seductive lips.

Unable to come up with an answer right away, Theodoric could only set it aside for the time being.

Theodoric looked at her. “I will give you a home. Go back and pack your things, and you can move in tomorrow.”
As he said that, he tore off a sticky note from the table and wrote down an address before handing it gently to Marianne.
Marianne gazed at his elegant handwriting on the note, her eyes sparkling with joy.
Did I hear that right? I can’t believe Theodore has invited me to live with him and has even promised to give me a home. I’m going to be rich! I’m finally going to live the luxurious life I’ve always wanted! Ruthanne would surely go insane with rage if she found out that I had taken away everything that should be hers.
Marianne suddenly wished she could see Ruthanne’s furious and helpless expression.
Just the thought of that made her feel good.
Marianne held the note with the address tightly against her chest and nodded shyly.
“Thank you, Theodore. When you marry me after your divorce, I will be a caring wife and attend to all your needs.”
Having achieved the purpose of her trip, she could not wait to return home and share the joyful news with her parents.
Moreover, she would be living with Theodoric the next day, so she had to prepare well.
Theodoric doesn’t want to touch me before we get married, but I can’t wait that long. With my skills, I don’t believe he can hold back from touching me!
After Marianne left, Theodoric lit a cigar and took a few long drags with his mind in a jumbled
mess.
Strangely, he seemed to like Marianne less than he had expected, and she was a far cry from the innocent little girl fifteen years ago.
Theodoric reflected on his interactions with her as if he was completing a task. It was dull, with no hint of happiness.
Have I changed, or has the little girl in my memory changed…
