Chapter 20 How Did You Get In Here
Ruthanne did not have much work on the first day of employment.
When she was about to leave the office, Silvius appeared behind her.
Ruthanne was taken aback as she turned around. “Mr. Coldhurst…”
Silvius responded with a smirk, “All packed up? If you are, come with me. I’ll take you to your place of residence.”
Ruthanne did not expect him to keep his promise. She had thought she would have to spend another night sleeping in the hospital corridor.
Since she did not have much to pack, she followed him empty–handed. Upon reaching the parking lot, she got into his Bumblebee Chevrolet Camaro.
The two of them remained silent throughout the journey, and Ruthanne refrained from asking about the place of residence.
Even though Ruthanne had only recently met Silvius, she found him to be more friendly and dependable than Theodoric.
That was why Ruthanne placed her trust in him.
Unfortunately, Ruthanne would soon discover that he had betrayed her trust.
When they arrived at their destination, Silvius drove straight into Truson Manor and parked right in front of Theodoric’s mansion, leaving Ruthanne utterly stunned. Isn’t this Theodoric’s manor? Why did he bring me here?
Looking confused, Ruthanne asked in disbelief, “Mr. Coldhurst, did you mean to say that you arranged for me to live in Theodoric’s house?”
Silvius arched his brows. “So, you’re familiar with this place? You’ve been here before, huh? Well, tell me, what do you think of the beds in his house? Are they comfortable?”
Ruthanne’s face instantly flushed with embarrassment.
With a mischievous grin, Silvius switched off the engine and gallantly stepped out of the car to open the door for Ruthanne, displaying his gentlemanly manners. “Ruthanne, let me give you a heads–up about Theodoric. He’s not fond of confrontations or people who go against him. directly. It’s better to handle things tactfully and play by his rules.”
Ruthanne got even more embarrassed. “Theodoric and I are not dating. You should tell that to his girlfriend.”
Rather than lingering on the matter, Silvius gave Ruthanne a gentle nudge on her shoulder, encouraging her to move forward. “Ruthanne, when in Rome, do as the Romans do. You are like
an antidote to Theodoric–someone he needs. That’s why I brought you to his house, hoping you two can get along well.”
Ruthanne was completely baffled by Silvius’s words. Wait, what? What on earth is he talking about? Theodoric and I are like colliding comets, bound to ignite chaos in our wake. What does he mean I’m like an antidote to Theodoric? How am I important to him?
Just when she was about to retort, she noticed Silvius had returned to his Bumblebee Chevrolet Camaro.
He rolled down the window and flashed a grin before racing off, leaving Ruthanne in a cloud of swirling exhaust smoke.
She coughed uncontrollably, struggling to recollect herself, when out of nowhere, a majestic Rolls–Royce Cullinan pulled over in the middle of the road, making a bold statement of its superiority.
Theodoric gracefully stepped out of the backseat. His handsome and charming appearance could easily capture any onlooker’s attention.
His eyes were like flaming torches, and the moment he turned his attention to Ruthanne, he gave her a death glare.
Ruthanne subconsciously staggered backward, as his glare made her feel uncomfortable. Exuding a murderous aura, the man walked in her direction.
She widened her eyes, trying to explain herself, but Theodoric, in an indifferent voice, snapped,
“How did you get in here? Get lost!”
