Kayden POV 

Kiara was even more perfect for our little mate than Kiki. But Kiki was adorable, too, it suited her right now with her age. Kiki or Kiara, it honestly didn’t matter as long as you would smile all the time like she was smiling right now. The mere sight of seeing a smile on our mate’s face brought nothing but happiness to me. 

Goddess! People always talked about when you feel the mate bond, it changes you. that even the littlest smile on your mate’s face would make you content. I always thought it was a bunch of crap, but if all those people saw me right now, I would be getting the biggest I told 

you so. 

“Which prince are you?” Kiara asked, breaking me out of my thoughts of her. 

Jayden and I crouched down to her level. 

“I’m prince Kayden, and this is my little brother, prince Jayden.” I said, Jayden and me smiling at her. 

She looked at us confused and bit her lip. I was beginning to think she did that every time she wondered if she should say something or not. Jayden must’ve also picked it up because the next moment, he said.

Kiara looked a little shocked that we knew she wanted to ask us something, she looked so cute with her shocked expression and reddening ears. We both smiled at her prompting her to go ahead and ask us.

“How is prince Jayden your little brother when your are identical twins. The books I read on biology said twins are born at the same time.” She asked. genuinely curious. 

We both chuckled at her cuteness and then answered her. 

“Yes, little one, twins are born at the same time: by the same time, they mean the same day. First, they took me out and then Jayden out of our mom’s belly. So that makes him younger than me by a few minutes, but let me tell you something…” I whispered the last part like it was a secret. her eyes lighting up as she leaned in as I whispered the last few words even though I knew everyone else could hear us, “…I like to call him my baby brother because it bugs him.” 

“Haww!” Kiara yelped, covering her mouth with her hand as she gave me a stern look, which wanted me to laugh out loud but kept it in so did Jayden, however, we couldn’t contain our smile. 

Goddess! She was a tiny kitten hissing at a dog. 

“Anything wrong, little one?” I asked, smiling. 

She glared at me, put her hands on her hips, giving me a stern look, and said. 

“That’s very rude, Prince Kayden. You don’t say things that other people don’t like. What if prince Jayden got mad and went into the forest or somewhere and get lost just like I did.” She finished, all the while glaring at me. 

Jayden and I couldn’t hold it in and burst out laughing and pinched each side of her cheek. Watching her grow was sure going to be entraining. Not only was she beautiful and intelligent, but she was also brave. Not many could glare at Jayden or me and live to tell the tale. not that we would ever hurt a pup, but even pups didn’t cross our path until needed; they admired us from afar.

“You have to promise me you won’t be mean to prince Jayden anymore. I don’t want him getting lost. we all just became friends,” Kiara said. frowning at the thought of Jayden disappearing. 

Both Jayden and I chuckled and ruffled her hair. 

Kiara POV: 

“Alright, little one, I won’t call Jayden that anymore. Are you happy now?” Said, prince Kayden. 

I can’t believe I had two kings as my friends and a prince as well. I felt so special, no one other than Jacob wanted to be my friend at school because Janet and her friends were always telling kids from our grade that I was weird. So now, having three new friends felt great, but, of course, no one could replace Jacob, we were best friends for life. 

But, for me to stay friends with them, prince Kayden had to promise me that he wouldn’t hurt prince Jayden’s feelings by calling him a baby again. It wasn’t nice. I didn’t like it when Rex and Jacob called me a baby, so I’m sure prince Jayden didn’t like being called a baby either. Plus, he was not a baby, they were both so big and tall, me. Jacob and Rex looked like ants in front of them when they weren’t crouching down to our level. I looked at prince Kayden expectantly, waiting for him to promise me, but he just looked back at me with his eyebrow raised. I crossed my arms over my chest and looked the other way. 

“What’s wrong little one? I said I wouldn’t do it again, why are you still upset?” Asked prince Kayden. 

“You didn’t promise me, how do I know you won’t do it again if you don’t promise me,” I said, looking at him sternly. 

They both chuckled. 

“Okay, little one, I promise not to call him a baby anymore. Are you happy now?” He said.

I immediately smiled and nodded my head in excitement, making both of them laugh and stand back up to their giant heights; then something hit and I narrowed my eyes at them again and huffed out. 

“What’s wrong now, little one?” Said prince Jayden this time. 

“You can’t call me little either. I’m nine years old and the top of my class and in warrior class as well, so it doesn’t make me little at all.” I said, huffing 

“But you are little.” Said prince Kayden as he smiled at me, and prince Jayden laughed. 

I huffed out! Making sure I didn’t cry. I was getting sad with everyone either calling me a baby or little. I was a big girl. 

“No, I am not, and if you don’t stop calling me that, I won’t be friends. with you,” I said, with my arms still crossed over my chest 

“Alright, fine, but what are we supposed to call you then.” Said prince Kayden as he crouched down to my level again. 

“Kiara or Kiki because your my friends,” I said, beaming now that they agreed 

They both chuckled again and nodded their heads. 

“Now tell us, kiki, why were you alone in the middle of the forest.” Asked prince Jayden. 

I heard Rex and Jacob suck in a breath from behind me. Why were they acting so scared of the princes? They were so nice, but I guess they were the princes, so that means they could be really mean if they wanted to. I should be careful too. Even though I came here because Rex and JJ dared me to, and I agreed because they would stop calling me a baby I didn’t want to tell the princes that, what if they grounded Rex and not let JJ see the king’s car collection, he would be so sad

“Um, we were playing hide and seek, and I got lost.” I said, biting my lip and looking anywhere but the twins I was terrible at lying, and I hated ving. I only did it when I really needed to. but it was an emergency right now What if Rex and JJ got in trouble because of me. Rex would not want to be my friend anymore, and JJ would be sad

“We have to get back to the palace Come, we’ll lead you back.” Said, prince Jayden 

“But Jay. I wanted to show Kiki and JJ our backyard and my personal playground,” Rex whined

We all slumped our shoulders but agreed and followed the princes out of the woods. I hope I get to see Rex’s playground before we leave And then something hit, and I called out to the princes 

“Could you please give me a tour of the castle?” I asked 

Batting my eyelashes and pouting my lower lip out, it always worked on dad and my brothers Hopefully, it’ll work on the princes as well All of them laughed, even Rex and JJ, at my expressions, but I didn’t 

care at the moment 

“Sure. Kiki We’ll give you one later tonight.” Said, prince Kayden
