Chapter 405 Escaping
Freya was sprawled in a pool of blood five minutes later.
Monkey stood nearby and glanced at her. “Mr. Strategist, should we proceed?”
Jamie rose, strolled to Freya with his phone, and began to record the scene.
He held his phone in one hand to capture the gruesome sight while brandishing a pen in his other hand. Then, a sinister smile played on his lips.
The pen’s tip traced a path from her face to her shoulder blade before he violently plunged it down.
A pained groan escaped her lips.
His gaze lingered on her, sprawled in the pool of blood, and her back marred by the lashings from Monkey’s whip.
“Freya, I’lFetch a constellation onto your face with this pen if you ever entertain the thought of escaping again,” he threatened.
She turned her face to the side, her complexion pale, and her jet-black hair tips immersed in the blood on the floor.
Jamie found the sight before him both beautiful and heart-wrenching.
Then, he reached out while caressing her face.
In the next instant, Freya bit him hard.
He quickly pulled back his hand and said, “That really pricked my hand.”
“You crazy pervert!” She spat out while coughing and cursing.
He ceased recording, showed her the video, and forwarded it to Radley’s number..
She glared at him, and her eyes ablaze with hatred.
“Your little lover has been quite a nuisance lately. If he continues to make my life difficult, I’ll ensure his life isn’t a bed of roses either.”
He held her head with one hand, immobilizing her, and gently patted her face with the other.
“Edward mustn’t know, do you understand?”
His expression hardened as he noticed her silence. “You won’t be seeing Maddox tomorrow. And if you let Edward in on this, you won’t be seeing the other two either.”
Her eyes widened in shock. “Jamie, this is my business!”
“Who made you a medical professor? Someone else will have to bear the mistakes you make.”
“Jamie! I won’t treat Edward anymore if you harm Maddox!” she yelled.
He laughed confidently. “Really? I find that hard to believe.”

He still had Lucius and Russell.
“Please take her back. As for the wounds, let her tend to them herself.” He turned around and resumed his
seat.
Monkey hoisted her from the ground and carried her downstairs.
She clutched her bleeding wound, and Monkey tossed her into the room before departing.
Freya staggered back to her office. The office was well-equipped, and she found a first aid kit to treat her
wounds.
She gritted her teeth and applied the ointment.
She could not reach the wounds on her back, so she smeared the ointment onto a bandage and wrapped it around herself.
After bandaging, she examined the wound on her shoulder blade that Jamie had inflicted.
His threat to kill Maddox tomorrow was no idle threat.
I can’t afford to wait any longer.
Fortunately, when one door closed, another opened. Perhaps due to the night’s events, those who brought her medicine didn’t supervise her intake.
She returned to her room and lay down on the bed.
Her eyes closed, and she appeared asleep but was waiting for her strength to return.
She didn’t know how long to recover without taking the medicine today.
She would risk her life to free the three of them as long as she could recover.
At three o’clock in the morning, when most people were in their most profound slumber, she quietly opened her eyes and glanced at the surveillance camera not far away.
She silently rose and stuffed the pillow under the quilt to create the illusion of someone in bed.
Once everything was in place, she felt a sense of relief.
The timing she chose should be correct. Otherwise, Jamie’s men would have stormed in by now.
She stealthily left the room, followed the surveillance line, and ascended to the third floor.
Two chairs were placed at the end of the third-floor corridor, and two people in black suits sat on them, already asleep while holding their guns.
She pursed her lips as she wasn’t sure when the person monitoring the surveillance would notice the scene on the camera, so she had to locate the central control room and disable all the villa’s security measures to stand a chance of escaping with the three men.
She approached the man on the left, swiftly raised her hand, and struck him on the neck.
As the man slumped unconscious, she caught his head and propped him back on the chair.

After dealing with the other man similarly, she slung one long gun over her back, held the other in her hand, and ventured onto the third floor.
She wasn’t sure if the central control room was on the third floor, but she knew that Jamie resided there, and his office was also on the third floor.
His computer should be able to turn off the villa’s defense system.
She stealthily went inside, following the route in her memory to his office.
She pushed open the office door to find it deserted and dim, with only the moonlight from the outside streaming through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting an eerie glow.
She tiptoed to his desk and powered on the computer.
The computer was password-protected, but that was no hurdle for her.
In about eight minutes, she located the villa’s security system. She set all the surveillance footage to replay the scenes from the previous night instead of shutting it down directly,
She finally relaxed after turning off the alarm systems on the outer door and surrounding fences.
She exited the office the same way she entered and glanced at the door at the far end. He should be there, but she didn’t have time to deal with him now.
She needed to figure out how formidable his skills were.
When she reached the end of the staircase, she looked at the two people she had incapacitated and slumped in their chairs. Then, she pulled out two sedatives from her pocket and injected them.
These were potent sedatives, which were capable of keeping the two unconscious for at least twelve hours.
She descended the stairs after she had done all this. The villa was eerily quiet in the early morning, and she quietly returned to the first-floor corridor.
The surveillance cameras couldn’t spot her now.
She went straight to knock on Lucius’ door, and the door opened after a while..
He was somewhat taken aback when he saw her standing outside. “Miss Kaufmann, what brings you here?”
She lowered her voice. “Please don’t speak and just follow me.”
Next, she led him to knock on Lucius’ door.
Lucius decisively followed them after he saw the two outside his door and the gun on her back,
The last room was Maddox, and he looked terrified after she knocked.
“What are you three doing here in the middle of the night? Is Jamie going to do something to us again?”
Russell stepped forward and covered Maddox’s mouth, whispering. “Please keep quiet as Miss Kaufmann is trying to get us out of here.”
Russell only released Maddox after he nodded repeatedly.
