As he spoke, he pulled up at video of Jovius on his phone and placed the phone on Freya’s bed. The video showed Jovius lying on his sickbed, looking like a poor little creature.
Freya was relieved. It was indeed Jovius in the video; he was pouting his mouth in pain, ready to burst into tears at any moment. She stared at the screen for a while before pausing for a few seconds. Then, she asked, “Where’s Radley?”
“When the explosion happened, Radley hid in a steel filing cabinet next to the window and wrapped himself around Jolly to protect him. He got injured from the explosion…” Braxton said before pausing for
a moment.
Freya quickly asked, “What happened to him?”
“He injured both of his legs. At the moment, he might need an amputation.”
“How is that possible?”
“The filing cabinet was sent flying by the impact of the explosion before falling from a considerable height. The steel bars inside curled up and happened to pierce horizontally into his thighs, injuring both his legs, explained Braxton. “Dr. Griffiths has already checked on him, and there aren’t many good treatment options.”
“I’ll go check on him.” Freya tried to stand up.
