Chapter 285 Can’t Judge a Book by Its Cover
Freya carefully read through the information docket on the student.
Surprisingly, he was quite famous at Evergreen University.

Freya nodded. “I found the owner of the camera I saw today. There are only three people left on the list.”
As she spoke, she sent the information of the remaining three people to Jonathan Copper.
In no time, Jonathan replied with three question marks.
Officer Copper: Miss Kaufmann, where did you get this information? How did you find it so quickly? Our IT department has only just found the list of everyone at Caltun University and is currently investigating them one by one.”
Freya avoided the first question.

When the car arrived at the Kaufmann Residence, Freya’s phone rang once more.
She glanced at the screen and saw that it was a call from Radley.
She answered the call, and Radley’s voice sounded urgent and worried.
“Frey, are you okay?”
That familiar yet weary voice caused her to lower her gaze and reply, “I’m fine.”
The urgent tone on the other end of the line cased for a few seconds. “That’s good…”
Freya interrupted, “You called at just the right time. I found some leads today.”
“I already know about them. Officer Copper just called and told me.”
Since he already knew, there was nothing more for Freya to say.
With that familiar voice in her car, Freya pursed her lips and asked, “Do you have anything else to say?”
“Officer Copper just told me that you want to personally contact the three men who are suspected to be the owners of the camera.”
“Yes, I don’t trust anyone else to do it.”
“Even if you meet them in person. how can you determine which one of them the camera belongs to? Also, even if you find the person, how do you plan to make them confess?”
Freya frowned. She was also troubled by that question.
Radley continued, “Leave this matter to me. I promise to give you an answer before tomorrow night.”
Freya hesitated. “There’s no need. I’ll figure it out myself…”
“Frey, this matter is not just about the Kaufmanns. Hannah is also involved,” Radley interrupted. “You shouldn’t bear this responsibility alone.”
Freya silently sighed. “Alright. I’ll wait for your message tomorrow.”
The car arrived at the Kaufmann Residence. As soon as Freya got out of the car, Sylvia hurriedly walked out of the house.
“Frey!” Sylvia’s face was full of worry. “Are you okay?”
“Mom, do I look like anything’s wrong?” Freya smiled.
“Stop pretending!”
Sylvia was so angry that she slapped Freya on the back. I heard about your investigation from your brother! You almost got hurt!”
Freya guiltily smiled. “Don’t listen to my brother. He was just exaggerating.”
“Exaggerating? If he was exaggerating, why is Edward in the hospital right now?”

Sylvia heaved a deep sigh. “Edward is a good boy. I really liked him. I didn’t expect him to get hurt because of you again!”
Upon hearing Edward’s name, Freya’s mood darkened. Mom, if you have the time, please visit him at the hospital. I need to investigate Mel’s case, so I might not have time to visit for a while.”
Sylvia nodded. “I will definitely go. After all, he saved you. Once Edward wakes up, I plan to bring him to our house to rest until he fully recovers from his injuries.”
Freya thought for a moment and nodded.
Edward’s only other living family member was Jamie. Although Jamie was Edward’s older brother, he was still a man. There would always be something he might overlook or not be as meticulous about.
Freya and Sylvia continued their conversation as they entered the living room.
The living room was empty. Freya looked at Sylvia and asked, “Mom, where are Uncle Marshall and Aunt Ashley?”
Sylvia heaved another heavy sigh. “Melissa is locked up at the police station. Do you think your uncle and aunt would be able to just stay at home? They went out to pull some strings to help her.”
“What strings?” Freya was puzzled. “Melissa hasn’t done anything. Once the police investigation is over, she will be released.”
“That’s what they say, but you know how much your aunt loves Melissa. Even if there’s only a one-in-a- million chance, she doesn’t want anything to happen to Melissa.”
Sylvia looked at Freya. “Let them do their thing. It’s better for them to be busy than to worry at home.”
Freya nodded.
“I’ll freshen up in my room first.” After washing up in her room on the second floor, Freya massaged her right shoulder.
She had twisted it when she swung her wet coat earlier, and it still hadn’t healed.
With gritted teeth, she entered the small study next to her room and turned on the computer.
Freya logged onto The Green Flamation forum. Now, she had the time to slowly discuss this matter with Ink.
She told the Council of Elders a few of her speculations.
Green Scylla: Ink, I’ve thought about it. Although there are no surveillance cameras near Swan Lake at Evergreen University, if the person climbed over the wall, they couldn’t have completely avoided the surveillance cameras, no matter which route they took. Today, that person even had a crossbow. Can you help me investigate everyone who was carrying something today?”
Ink: You’re a slavedriver.
Freya chuckled and sent a voice message.
“When you’re done, I’ll treat you to a big meal the next time we meet up.”
