Chapter 284 Who Is the Owner of the Camera?
Three people pushed Edward’s hospital bed into his ward in no time.
Inside the ward, Jamie sat by the bedside, his expression filled with worry.
Freya spoke softly beside him, “Edward is basically out of danger now. As long as the wound doesn’t get infected and he receives careful care, there shouldn’t be any problems!”
“That’s fortunate amid the misfortune,” Braxton said, looking at Jamie, who looked at Edward on the bed. and nodded in agreement.
“Jamie, don’t worry. I’ve informed my mother and arranged for two experienced caregivers to care for Edward,” Braxton assured.
Jamie nodded again.
Freya looked at Edward lying on the bed, her heart still aching.
“We’ll take care of Edward,” she said.
Jamie shook his head and replied, “Miss Kaufmann, I’ve heard about the recent events concerning your family from Mr. Kaufmann. I know your family is dealing with important matters. Regardless of how professional the caregivers may be, I’m concerned. Let me take care of my brother personally. At least when I’m with him, I can be at ease.”
At that, he gazed at Braxton and continued, “Mr. Kaufmann, can I have a few days off? I’ll look after my brother until he wakes up, and we’re sure there’s no risk of infection. Then I’ll return to work.”
Braxton naturally agreed.
Freya spent quite a while in the ward with Edward until her phone in her pocket rang.
She took out her phone and left the ward to answer the call.
“Miss Kaufmann.” Jonathan’s voice came from the other end of the line. “The camera you brought back is fully charged. Would you like to come over and take a look?
Freya took a deep breath. Although she wanted to stay here and take care of Edward, she needed to save Melissa as well. Thankfully, Edward was already out of danger.
At that, she returned to the ward and looked at Braxton. “Brax, you stay here with Edward. I need to go to the police station now.”
Braxton frowned. “Why do you need to go to the police station again?”
“I found a camera at Evergreen University’s Swan Lake today. It’s fully charged now, and Officer Copper asked if I wanted to go and take a look together,” Freya whispered.
Braxton frowned. “Then, I’ll accompany you.”
With that, he turned to look at Jamie, who smiled and nodded. “You two go ahead. Edward is already out of danger. I’ll take care of him.”
“Thank you, Mr. Fraser,” said Freya sincerely.

Jamie shook his head and said seriously, “Miss Kaufmann, you don’t have to be so polite with my family. Edward often tells me that if it weren’t for you, both of us would be dead now.”
After leaving the hospital, Braxton drove the car while Freya sat in the passenger seat.
The entire car ride, Freya looked absentmindedly out the window. Her racing heart had finally calmed
down a bit.
At a crossroads, Braxton stopped the car and patted Freya’s shoulder. “Don’t go wandering around alone anymore. Even though you found evidence, if something happened to you today-I really wouldn’t know
what to do!”
Freya’s heart warmed, and she obediently nodded. “I understand, Brax. After sorting out Melissa’s case, we must quickly find out who is behind all this. Otherwise, our family will never have peace!”
As she spoke, a hint of malice laced her eyes. Murder Mel’s boyfriend, frame her, and even harm Edward… They’ve crossed the line. How dare they lay their hands on my family and friends! They will all pay for it!
After arriving at the police station, Freya called Jonathan, and soon a police officer came out, escorting them to the evidence analysis room.
When Freya entered the room, Jonathan was frowning and looking at the video on the screen.
Seeing someone enter, Jonathan paused the video.
“Have you made any new discoveries, Officer Copper? Freya asked.
Jonathan cleared his throat awkwardly in response. “The records from the camera you brought are somewhat useful, but if we approach these students based on this reason, they may not cooperate willingly.”
Freya was taken aback. “Why?”
“Take a look for yourself,” Jonathan said.
Freya picked up the camera, which was connected to the large screen. She scrolled through a few videos. and selected one to play.
Most of the footage was shot at night, and the camera had some advanced night vision capabilities.
Faintly, she could see couples first engaging in affectionate interactions, laughing and chatting, but later. the content became PG18…
Freya paused the video and pursed her lip, recalling where exactly she found the camera.
“So, this is what this camera is used for-a voyeur’s camera.”
After a moment’s thought, Freya turned to Jonathan and asked, “Officer Copper, can we trace the owner of this camera?”
I’ve already had our technical team analyze the camera and initiate an investigation,” Jonathan explained. “Actually, identifying the people in the videos might be less important. What matters most is finding the owner of this camera.
“I looked into it. This camera’s market price is around 30,000 dollars. For a student, that’s not a small sum. And given its voyeuristic nature, it’s unlikely the owner would just leave it there. Yet when you went today.

Freya typed with curiosity, ‘Why did you cross out some of the names?”
Ink replied, ‘I hacked into Evergreen University’s intranet. The ones crossed out aren’t known to frequent the area around Swan Lake.
Freya quirked a brow in response. ‘So, excluding the two girls, there are only three male suspects left. Ink. among these three guys, who do you find the most suspicious?’
Ink quickly pointed out the guy, who appeared quite refined with a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, and said. “You should focus on investigating this guy. He often hangs around near Swan Lake. Here is his information.”
