Chapter 97 Oh, Then You Go Die
Chapter 97 Oh, Then You Go Die
Julia burst out laughing and spitefully murmured, “Love you, my ass!”
One couldn’t blame her, though. After all, Carter‘ s audacity was through the roof. Nonetheless, cussing him out is the best she can do, even though she wants to beat the man to a pulp.
Carter frowned, his eyebrows meeting in the middle. “Julia, why did you become so vulgar? How can you talk to another person that way?” he asked.
“It doesn’t matter. I’m not talking to a person anyway,” Julia said, raising her brows.
“You” Carter took a deep breath, trying to suppress his anger. He called Julia, not to argue with her, but to settle the business first. “Whatever. Do you know Hailey Richards that well?”
“I do,” Julia admitted.
Carter shrugged, asking, “Okay, let me ask you again. Did you purposely try to fight us off in the market recently when you released your company’s new product?”
“Yes, of course,” Julia said, although her words were rather scarce. She didn’t know what the Ross Corporation was up to, but on the other hand, she wanted to make herself known in the industry.
“You see, Julia?!” Carter gritted his teeth and took a deep breath. “You‘ re admitting this, yet you can’t admit the truth that you‘ re exacting revenge because you still have feelings for me.”
Julia rolled her eyes. “Carter, how can you be so delusional? I hate you more than anyone else, and you should know that. You claiming that I have feelings for you makes you a real grade clown.‘
The other end of the phone was silent for a good second before Carter sighed. “Julia, if you withdraw your collaboration with Hailey, I will give you whatever you want. Breaking up with Vivien is off the table, though.”
At first, Julia wanted to hang up the phone because this conversation was going nowhere, but then she thought of something to taunt the man further. “Okay, I won’t ask you to break up with her. I will just ask
you to have her
pay me back.” “Pay you back?”
“Yeah, duh. That time when she took my blood? I want her to give it back. That was a lot! Do that, and I will withdraw my agreement with Hailey.”
Carter’s eyes widened, and his blood boiled with anger. He couldn’t help but raise his voice. “She was in poor health, you sadist. I can’t believe you would ask for your blood back after a life–saving transfusion. How ridiculous-”
Julia cut him off. “Hold your horses. I’m not asking for this because I‘ m petty. The truth is, I need it. I’m not in good health. I can show you a certificate from an accredited hospital if you don’t believe me. Vivien and I have rare blood types, so it’s great that I know her because I would have a hard time finding a donor if not. Oh, and according to my doctor, I need about a hundred transfusions in the future to keep me alive, so you get the gist…”
“What the heck? About a hundred?” Carter clenched his fists and muttered, “You‘ re going to kill her at that point!”
Carter’s words made Julia laugh. “Carter, you‘ re unbelievable. When I was still your fiancee, you kept telling me that Vivien was just a friend. So, when you basically forced me to give her blood countless times, I had a feeling that you’d been lying. How shameless can you be to use your fiancee to save your mistress, huh? I didn’t hear you say I might die back then. So, does my life

matter less?”
Carter was speechless, though he felt every ounce of spite the woman felt.
“Tch! Don’t act all pitiful now, Julia. Who was the reason she needed all those transfusions, anyway? It was you, right? You kept hurting her!”
“Did you see it with your own eyes?” Julia quipped, but Carter just rubbed his temples.
“Whatever. I don’t want that condition. Just ask me anything else. Something that doesn’t involve Vivien.”
“If that’s the case, then just go to hell.”
After finishing speaking, Julia hung up the phone directly.
Carter’s face turned red in anger. He couldn’t believe that she just cut him off like that. He dialed the woman’s number again, but this time, the call wouldn’t get through. Finally, he realized something.
“Son of a bitch! She blocked me!”
Feeling his blood boil even more, he threw his phone on the ground, creating a loud thud. Everyone in the conference room was silent, watching Carter basically lose his mind. Finally, one senior executive got the courage to speak up. “Mr. Ross, I don’t think you need to worry too much. Let’s just wait for the results in a week. Making a ..ove against them now might only create trouble for us.”
“Yes, I agree.
“Let’s just wait and make a move in accordance with the sales.”
“That’s correct!”
Everyone nodded and murmured in agreement.
“But what if they win and our tactic loses?” Carter objected. He looked at everyone and continued, “Waiting for the results won’t matter as much as you think. Maybe it will be too late, no? If there is no significant change, it won’t make much sense to wait. Let’s take a step back in accordance with what will happen and hire experts to patch things up. I’m not taking this lightly, so just listen to what I say and do what I want.”
At around eight in the evening, Hailey’s live broadcast officially started, and viewers with skin problems poured in to stream. And so they began using their models to demonstrate the product‘ s effect.
On the second day of the live stream, the product didn’t make the models break out any further. and no swelling was involved too. So, the viewers spread the word to their friends. Marketing accounts also appeared one after another to publicize this matter.
On the fourth day, the product was trending worldwide. Various pictures of the models spread on the internet like wildfire, highlighting the improvements in their skin.
Comments on Hailey’s livestream poured in.
“Wow! I remember how damaged this woman‘ s skin was three days ago, but everything seemed to have disappeared now. I think I’m buying some for myself.”
“Damn, that man with the severe acne problem from the other day looks like he has a filter on right now. This product is legit.”

“Exactly. That high school girl with blackheads all over her face also has clear skin now. Unbelievable! I’ll take seven!”
The number of viewers in Hailey’s live broadcast room was increasing day by day. Finally, on the fifth day, it was number one on Twitter‘ s trending topics. Several websites climbed on the clout, too, making the product even more popular, with articles popping up everywhere.
One afternoon, Hailey called Julia.
“Julia! Oh my gosh, we‘ re trending. I know how good of a doctor you are, but now, you‘ re basically hailed as God!”
Julia was sitting on the balcony of her place, basking in the sun, looking confident as ever. “Thanks, but I have a plan.”
“Sure. Tell me about it.”
“We’ll stop the broadcast for the next two days.”
“Oh… Okay.”
Hailey tried guessing Julia’s intentions, and she assumed that maybe the woman wanted to make the fans hungry for more. After all, suspense is a great advertisement.
Besides, if they stop streaming for two days, once they come back on–air, people would notice how big of a difference it would be on their model‘ s faces.
Two days later, people are starving for content, and finally, Hailey will deliver it tonight at exactly eight in the evening.
When she showed pictures of the seventh–day progress from the models, things went wild. Thousands of people tuned in, and they couldn’t wait to get their hands on the product.
Comments flooded with eager customers.
“Upload the link for the product already!” “Oh my god, I’m so excited to buy this.”
“How do you use this? Once a day?”
That night, people working in the Ross Corporation were stressing as they tuned in.
Carter, with his gritted teeth, kept his eyes on the TV screen. Although he was frustrated with how things turned out, he couldn’t deny how amazed he was with Julia’s strategy.
Also, he didn’t expect the product to be that good. Their company’s products are simply incomparable!
The director of the marketing department looked at Carter, “Sir, we have already deployed several marketers to do something, specifically Dr. Lenard.”
“I didn’t expect this product to be so good. Have you investigated anything about it?”
“I read the ingredient list, and as an expert in this field, I can tell you that it has side effects! Our dermatologists think that this product won’t do anyone’s skin a favor in the long run.”
“Good, let the word spread,” Carter demanded, and not even minutes later, the social media

marketers did their job, and a man named Dr. Lenard Stan took the lead.
Dr. Lenard: “This product has side effects and is too good to be true. It won’t do you good in the long run so it’s best not to buy it!”
Upon seeing such a feedback trend, avid watchers of the live stream began feeling hesitant.
“Will it really be bad in the long run?”
“Gosh, is this for real?”
“The source is supposedly a dermatologist, though. Maybe it’s true!”
“Damn, what greedy capitalists. They don’t care about us at all!”
Hailey hit Julia up, asking, “Hey, so what should we do with these counterclaims?” Julia smiled. “Don’t worry. Let’s just get started.”
