Chapter 79 I’ll Chase Her After You Divorce
As Henry’s words subsided, he turned to catch sight of Jared’s ominous expression.
“What’s with that look?” Henry patted his chest, taken aback by Jared’s sudden intensity.
“You can’t pursue her,” Jared stated firmly.
“Why?” Henry’s confusion was palpable as he glanced at Jared.
“Do you know who she is?”
“Who? I’ll pursue anyone I want. I’ll even pursue a neighboring country’s princess if I feel like it.”
Jared’s eyes darkened as he said impassively, “My wife.”
Henry’s pupils dilated upon hearing this, his gaze darting between Jared and Julia.
“She’s… the woman you got hitched to?”
Having been overseas, Henry had only recently returned to the country and was unaware of the events that had transpired. He knew of Jared’s commitment to marriage but had yet to meet Jared’s wife.
“No way! With your medical background, I figured she must be older, maybe in her 40s or 50s. I didn’t expect her to be so young and stunning.”
Henry’s eyes remained fixated on Julia as he spoke. Her exquisite features, graceful figure, and radiant aura were captivating.
“Well, she’s technically your wife now, so it’s not appropriate for me to pursue her. I’ll consider it after you two are divorced in the future.”
From Henry’s perspective, Jared had never shown interest in women. Henry believed Jared only obtained the marriage certificate due to Shiloh’s persuasion. In his estimation, once Shiloh recovered fully, the young woman’s utility would be exhausted. He presumed a monetary settlement would suffice to send her away,
“Did you not hear what I said? Drop the idea.” Jared’s tone turned frigid as he addressed Henry.

Henry sensed a deeper layer to Jared’s words and eyed him questioningly. “What do you mean by that? You can’t be serious about considering her your daughter–in–law. That’s out of character for you, right? You’ve had numerous beauties throw themselves at you in the past, yet you’ve always turned them away. Why the sudden change of heart? Could it be her beauty that’s swayed you? Unlikely! You’re not so shallow.”
Jared sighed inwardly, sparing little patience for Henry’s inquiries. He had more pressing matters. at hand – Julia’s private meeting with Vivien – and he couldn’t afford distractions.
At the coffee shop, Vivien crossed her arms, glaring at Julia with intense animosity.
“You’re quite the schemer, Julia! You managed to recover the video and sabotage my wedding with
Carter.”
Julia arched an eyebrow, her expression unwavering. “You were even more ruthless, considering suicide to salvage your plan.”
“Hmph! Your little trick won’t deter me. Wanna know why?” Vivien sneered. “Because Carter loves
me!”
Julia’s response was curt. “Seems like a fitting match – a deceitful man and a deceitful woman.”
Vivien persisted, undeterred. “Keep pretending! Others might fall for it, but I see right through you. You’re still hung up on Carter. All your actions were a pathetic attempt to steal him away from
me!”
A smirk tugged at the corner of Julia’s lips. She raised her coffee cup, taking a leisurely sip. “I must say, you wretched souls deserve each other. Enjoy your toxic love affair.”
“Pretend all you want! It won’t change the facts. I’m here to tell you that on your birthday next month, Carter and I will be remarried. It’s a date that’ll sting for you, won’t it? Feel like crying? Go ahead, shed your tears I’ll be there to mock you!”
Julia sipped her coffee and casually shifted her gaze towards Vivien, her expression marred by disdain. “Must you talk as if you’re spewing venom?”
Though Julia’s words were spoken quietly, they carried a weight that reached nearby tables, causing patrons to cast disgusted glances at Vivien.

“Did you really come here just to unleash your verbal venom on me?” Julia drawled, her relaxed as she reclined against the back of the chair.

Vivien’s rage intensified, nearly causing her to explode. Amidst her anger, she caught sight of Carter’s arrival through the window.
Aware that Vivien’s invitation likely held an ulterior motive beyond mere quarreling, Julia tracked Vivien’s gaze and saw Carter approaching.
She deduced that Vivien’s intentions were far from innocent. Her suspicion was confirmed when Vivien abruptly flung her coffee in Julia’s direction.
Vivien shrieked, “Ah – no!”
Carter had just stepped inside and was greeted by the sight of Vivien covered in coffee, along with Julia sitting across from her. Anger consumed him.
He rushed to Vivien’s side, holding her protectively. Then, fixing his furious gaze on Julia, he thundered, “Julia! What have you done?! Have you no restraint? Yingying just got out of the hospital!”
Carter’s anger was palpable, and Vivien clung to him, sobbing and explaining that the coffee spill was her own doing.
Carter’s heart ached for Vivien, and he couldn’t help but resent Julia even more.
“And even now, you’re standing up for her? She’s caused you immense suffering. You were almost pushed to your limits trying to prove your innocence, and yet she still persists in tormenting you!”
