Chapter 68 Jared Wipes Julia’s Mouth
Witnessing Jared’s action, Julia’s eyes widened instantly, and asked, “You, don’t you dirty?”
“It’s you; I don’t mind.” Jared tossed the used tissue into the trash.

Julia tracked his movements with her gaze, her wide eyes filled with curiosity as she focused on the man before her.
After a few seconds of silence, she couldn’t resist asking, “You took care of me all night?”
“Yes,” Jared affirmed with a nod.
Julia observed the tenderness and concern in his eyes. She remembered his recent confession and the ring on her finger as she contemplated this. She had tried to give it back to him multiple times, but he stubbornly refused to take it, and he didn’t mention reclaiming it either.
“Let me ask you, do you truly have feelings for me?”
“Or do you believe I’d casually give this ring to someone else?” Jared responded earnestly.
At that moment, the gravity of his expression left no room for doubt.
Julia scratched the back of her head, a wry smile forming. “Do you mind if I had feelings for someone else before?”
“I do mind,” Jared’s reply caught Julia off guard.
However, he continued, “But it doesn’t matter. I didn’t know you until after that. Thankfully, you had feelings for someone who turned out to be a jerk. Otherwise, I might not have had this opportunity.”
Gazing at his distinguished, handsome face, Julia felt an odd mixture of emotions. His words amused her, casting a different light on the man standing before her.
All this time, she’d believed that men were rigid, unsmiling, overbearing, and unreliable. Yet, his recent remark gave her a fresh perspective.
“But I… don’t feel the same way about you.”
Interest and affection were two distinct concepts.
Almost imperceptibly, Jared’s brow furrowed. “I understand. I’ll strive to change that.”
Julia initially had more to say, but the seriousness of the man before her prompted her to keep her words to herself. Then, a gentle buzz interrupted the moment. The phone vibrated.
Jared retrieved his mobile phone, noticing an incoming call from Joseph.
“Boss, we’ve gathered everyone,” Joseph reported.
“Okay.
After concluding the call, Jared turned his attention to Julia. “You should get some rest for now, I’ll return as soon as I can.”
As Julia watched Jared exit the room, her mind drifted back to the previous day’s events. She recalled witnessing Jared questioning the car owner responsible for the accident when she had returned to the villa a few days prior. It struck her that the mastermind behind both incidents might be the same person.

With a determined resolve, Julia threw off the covers, got out of bed, and left the room.
She spotted Jared and the masked assailant from the previous day’s attack in the yard. As she leaned into eavesdrop, her peripheral vision caught Shiloh doing the same.
Shiloh also noticed Julia and his eyes widened in surprise.
Julia gestured to him by placing a finger on her lips, silently signaling him to stay quiet.
Covering his mouth, Shiloh observed Julia as she approached him. Their eyes met, and unspoken communication flowed between them:
‘What brings you here?‘
‘Whatever reason you have, I’m here for the same.”
After a few moments of wordless exchange, their attention shifted simultaneously to Jared.
“Tell me, who’s behind this?”
The killers were all tied up and forced to kneel on the ground. Several of them bore evident injuries, with a few in critical condition. While Julia didn’t dwell on it, Shiloh recognized that the most severely wounded were the ones responsible for Julia’s suffering.
Gritting their teeth, the killers remained obstinately silent. Jared’s frustration mounted, prompting him to kick the lead killer’s shoulder and press him to the ground.
The leader let out a prolonged cry of agony, his voice echoing in the air.
Ignoring the screams, Jared continued to trample on him mechanically, the thud of his leather shoes creating a sharp, rhythmic sound.
Shiloh found the scene difficult to watch, averting his gaze in discomfort.
Julia glanced at him, her voice barely audible, “Your brother really takes care of you.”
Shiloh’s head snapped up; his expression caught between surprise and contemplation. He understood the implication of Julia’s words. Their father’s early passing had placed the weight of their responsibilities squarely on his brother’s shoulders. Without him, Shiloh and their mother might have been pushed aside by avaricious uncles, making it near–impossible for them to establish a foothold in Monroe City, let alone enjoy their current privileged life.
“Ahhh-“The leader killer’s agonizing shrieks persisted.
“Brute force won’t yield anything. We need an alternative approach,” Julia muttered to herself.
Shiloh glanced at Julia, skepticism evident. “Do you have a solution?”
“It’s simple, hypnosis,” Julia replied, recalling her prior use of this method.
Shiloh shook his head slightly. “You might not be aware, but when my brother investigated the car accident involving me, he employed a hypnotist. Turned out the car owner had received specialized training against such methods. Given the killers‘ rigorous preparation, they’re unlikely to succumb to hypnosis easily.”
Shiloh’s words piqued Julia’s curiosity, more like a technical challenge she couldn’t resist. She had the itch to test whether their training would prevail over her technique.
As the night deepened, Julia’s mind remained occupied with this puzzle.
Suddenly, her eyes snapped open. In the dawning realization, she found Jared sleeping soundly

beside her.
By now, Julia had grown accustomed to this occurrence.
A glance at the clock revealed it was two o’clock in the morning, the optimal time for action.
Julia donned a mask and hat, and with determined steps, she made her way toward the rear of the villa, heading to the old villa where the car owner and killers were being held.
Meanwhile, Shiloh had just finished gaming and was about to turn in when a familiar figure caught his attention from the corner of his eye, right beneath his window.
“Julia?” he called out, his voice tinged with surprise.
