Chapter 67 Julia is in Danger, Jared Arrived in Time
Upon hearing these words, Jared’s body jolted upright with his eyebrows creased in anger. Like a burning fire, a strong surge of fury surged within him. This intense feeling spurred him into quick action, making him hurry as he walked forward.
“Joseph! Get the car ready!” Jared’s urgent voice rang out, filling the air with its resonance. He grabbed his phone, prepared for action, and swiftly looked outside. His pace accelerated, gradually evolving into a full–fledged sprint.
As Joseph witnessed Jared’s abrupt change, his face turned grave. Acting swiftly and decisively, he followed Jared without pause, an unspoken understanding directing his actions.
In the office, people were shocked by Jared’s unusual behavior, wondering if the Brooks family’s wealth was in trouble.
Meanwhile, with cuts on her arms and legs from what she had been through, Julia was extremely tired.
Shiloh was stunned, unable to react as he watched Julia in pain. He hesitated, unsure of what to

“Stop!” The leader in the mask shouted in frustration. Despite many fuck attempts, they hadn’t broken Julia’s spirit. If he let her go now, he would lose control.
“I’m going to end you!” Waving a knife, the person in the mask moved closer to Julia with a threatening demeanor.
Julia fixed her gaze on the approaching blade, her resolve unwavering. Despite her injuries, she tried to escape its path.
Could this be the end for her?
Amid her despair, a sudden, powerful force yanked her away. She was enveloped in the embrace of a full–bodied chest, a sensation she recognized all too well.
It was reminiscent of a previous rescue, a memory etched in her mind–when Jared had saved her from peril.
There was no doubt it had to be him.
Julia didn’t need to glance up; she could feel the embrace belonged to Jared.
A piercing scream cut through the air, interrupting her thoughts.
She turned her face, hidden in the man’s arms, towards the masked figure leading them. He was crouched on the ground, clutching his stomach. The mask had slipped off, revealing a contorted, sweaty face tinted purple.
Her
gaze shifted to Jared’s long legs. He must have delivered that forceful kick just moments ago. His effort was evident–kicking the lead masked assailant with such impact.
Raising her gaze to Jared’s face, Julia observed that his expression was as cold and solemn as winter’s twelfth lunar month.
Was his anger directed at her? No, it was more likely about Shiloh.
“Foolish woman, daring to harm me, courting death!” Jared‘ s voice thundered, his rage erupting.

Julia stared at Jared, her lips slightly parted, caught in a moment of disbelief.
Fatigue ultimately overwhelmed her, and she surrendered to unconsciousness.
The following day, news of the incident prompted Cameron to rush over swiftly.
“Shiloh, are you okay?” Cameron asked with concern, her gaze unconsciously shifting to the upstairs room where Jared was staying.
”
I’m fine, and Julia‘ s injuries aren’t severe, fortunately. They‘ re primarily superficial,” Shiloh replied, his tone souring at the mention of Julia’s name.
“I heard about the incident. How’s Julia holding up?” Cameron expressed her concern.
“She’s in my brother‘ s room,” Shiloh gestured upstairs.
Cameron’s anxiety surged upon hearing this.
“They’re alone in the same room? This is not acceptable!” Cameron‘ s jealousy flared, and she moved towards the stairs.
Shiloh stopped her by placing a hand on her arm.
“Shiloh, what do you think you‘ re doing?”
“She’s seriously hurt. It’s best not to go in and disturb her,” Shiloh advised his words carrying a note of caution.
Cameron stared at Shiloh, wide–eyed and incredulous. In the North, was Shiloh actually speaking up for Julia?
“Shiloh, what are you thinking? That Julia woman must have some ulterior motive for your brother. How could you let them be alone in the same room? And now you‘ re stopping me? Are you selfishly disregarding your brother because Julia mended your legs? Or perhaps she saved you, so you‘ ve changed your opinion of her?”
After a second of silence, Cameron continued, “I get it now!” A look of sudden understanding dawned on her face. “Those people were probably hired by Julia, deliberately orchestrating this to manipulate your feelings of guilt…”
Cameron was so engrossed in her own words that she failed to notice the pained expression on Shiloh’s face.
“This Julia is not just scheming; she’s cruel as well. She deserves some divine retribution- “Enough! Are you done?” Shiloh’s patience shattered as he interjected sharply. Cameron recoiled, taken aback by Shiloh‘ s outburst. She stared at Shiloh, on the verge of speaking, but Shiloh‘ s cold voice cut in first.
“I said she’s resting, and your shouting like this will disrupt her. Besides, do you really think she planned this incident? I have eyes; I can see things too. Now, leave!” Shiloh pointed sternly at the door, his tone laced with a growl.
If it weren’t for Cameron being his mother‘ s goddaughter, Shiloh would have ejected her long
ago.
While the danger had passed without harm, the memory of Julia fiercely protecting herself was etched in Shiloh’s mind. The wounds on her body were severe; a slight misstep would have been

So, as he had just stated, whether Julia orchestrated the incident or not, he possessed both and judgment.

“Leave!” Shiloh’s command rang out once more, signaling the unwelcome guests to depart. Cameron clenched her teeth, casting a venomous glare that was laden with intense disdain, before reluctantly exiting the villa.
Without hesitation, she dialed Yannie’s number, a sense of urgency palpable in her voice.
“Mother, its dire! Even Shiloh has defended Julia. My gut feeling tells me that Julia might have orchestrated this incident. I mean, think about it – how coincidental is it that she was there when Shiloh had his accident? And she was alone, facing five or six others armed with knives. It doesn’t add up – how could she have held out for so long?”
Upon hearing this, Yannie found herself agreeing; the circumstances were indeed perplexing.
“You make a valid point, but don’t let it trouble you excessively. Jared is no stranger to complex situations; he’ll likely be considering the same angles we are. If the situation is genuine, Julia s fate should ideally improve, sparing her from an unjust end.”
“That’s all well and good, but what if Jared gets entangled in a doomed obsession?” Cameron fretted, her anxiety evident.
Yannie sighed, her head pounding. “I’ll have a word with the brothers. We can’t rush this matter; we need concrete evidence.”
After ending the call, Cameron paced back and forth, gripping her phone tightly. The more she pondered, the more disquieted she became. Her intuition seldom led her astray, and the shift in Jared’s treatment of Julia was glaring. If this continued, Julia could well become the lady of the villa.
No, she couldn’t allow that to happen.

The idea struck her. Back at the family banquet, she‘ d witnessed Jordan gazing at Julia with an inexplicable intensity. He could be her ally.
Without hesitation, Cameron dialed Jordan’s number.
“Jordan, I’ve got a question for you: do you have feelings for Julia?”
Jordan pushed the woman in his company away as he heard Cameron‘ s query. “You want to help me?”
Cameron’s teeth clenched. “I’m just asking if you‘ re interested.”
“What’s your idea here? Julia is now considered part of the Brooks family, even if the head of the family arranged her marriage to Shiloh. If something were to go on between her and Jared, it would be a direct affront to the family‘ s leader.”
Jordan wasn’t naive; in fact, he was pretty astute. He could sense that Cameron was calling him due to an issue between Julia and Jared, likely triggered by Cameron’s jealousy.

If Julia kept her silence, he couldn’t possibly expose the truth. Cameron‘ s scheme wouldn’t serve her purpose if Jared remained in the dark.

“It’s quite an elaborate plan. After you and Julia have spent the night together, arrange for someone else to be sleeping beside her. If Jared stumbles upon that scene, it would be ideal,” Cameron confidently stated, believing her scheme was foolproof.
Jordan pondered, “I’m still curious. Why drag me into this? Couldn’t you have found anyone else?”
“Because you‘ re ruthless. You‘ ve often left the women who‘ ve been with you in need of medical attention.”
That was indeed Cameron‘ s true motive.
Her intention was to entangle Julia in the dangerous snare of Jordan, leaving her powerless to
recover.
