Chapter 59 The Wedding
Conrad was frozen like a statue. He couldn’t believe his eyes and thought he was hallucinating, but the man in front of him didn’t disappear.
“Hello, I’m Oliver Kolson.” Oliver whipped out his business card and handed it to Conrad.
Hearing his words, Conrad gasped. ‘He was indeed Oliver Kolson, a renowned assistant from Cresco Enterprise!”
At that moment, Conrad was on cloud nine. He hurriedly accepted Oliver’s business card as though he was afraid he would take it back.
Smiling from ear to ear, he greeted, “Good to see you here. I’m Conrad.”
He extended his hand and shook hands with Oliver. He then glanced at Julia and mouthed, “Is it him?”
Amused, Julia nodded and smiled at him.
Taking a deep breath, Conrad faced Oliver and briefed him about his job, and subsequently sent him off.
When Oliver left, Conrad turned to Julia and asked in disbelief, “How did you poach him? He’s the number one gold medal assistant of Cresco Enterprise!”
“Have you forgotten my identity, Brother?” Julia retorted, amusement laden in her tone.
Her words stumped Conrad into silence. That was right. How could he forget her identity as the Divine Doctor? Everyone wanted to curry her favor, so it wasn’t strange that Oliver agreed to be his
assistant.
Patting his shoulder, she said, “You can now focus on your business with peace of mind. I believe you’ll be successful.”
She was well aware of Conrad’s disposition. Although his demeanor was reserved and gentle, deep down, he also harbored aspirations of making a significant mark in the world and crafting his career, but circumstances never favored him.
Since she was capable, she bought a company and appointed her brother as the boss.
“Rest assured, I won’t disappoint you!” Conrad vowed. His eyes were glistening with excitement, and his heart was teeming with a splendid vision of the future.
Two days had passed in the blink of an eye.
Julia woke up early and took a quick shower. Afterward, she donned a fiery red dress, which was the latest summer dress. It accentuated her white skin and plump chest. Her long hair was styled into loose waves, her face was painted with exquisite makeup, and she wore ten–centimeter high heels that made her taller.
She had already looked stunning without makeup, and now that she had dressed up well, Julia appeared even more breathtaking.
After admiring her looks, Julia strutted out of her room and went downstairs.
When she reached the last step of the stairs, she raised her head and saw Jared and Shiloh looking at her. Their eyes were tinged with astonishment.

Grinning, she asked, “How is it? Do I look beautiful?”
Jared retracted his gaze and pursed his lips, and a shadow of gloom shrouded his face.
“Are you really going?” he asked darkly.
‘You dolled yourself up because you wanted to get Carter’s attention, isn’t it?‘ he inwardly said. Even though he wanted to say it, he was afraid it was true.
Thinking of Julia and Carter together, the rage in Jared’s heart intensified.
“Of course,” Julia answered in a matter–of–fact tone. With that, she grabbed her bag and walked out of the house.
However, she had only taken a few steps, and Jared stopped her.
“Don’t go,” he said hoarsely. His tone was laced with pleading that even he seemingly wasn’t aware of.
“I’m going.” Julia’s tone turned frosty. She had vowed to avenge her former self, and now that the opportunity was on her doorstep, how could she possibly let it slide?
“I told you, don’t go!” Jared’s anger burst out, seeing Julia’s stubborn expression.
At that instant, a stifling atmosphere engulfed the entire living room.
Beads of cold sweat formed on Shiloh’s forehead as he anxiously shifted his gaze between Julia and Jared. While he had secretly wished for their breakup, facing this scene now, he suddenly felt uncomfortable.
Sighing, Julia averted her gaze and walked past Jared.
“Do you like him that much? Even after how he had treated you before, you still won’t give up on him? Was he that great in your eyes?” Jared clenched his fist as he spoke, suppressing the rage brewing inside him.
Hearing his words, Julia halted in her footsteps and looked back. “What? You think I’ll go there to snatch him from Vivien?”
“Isn’t that the case?” He cocked his brows.
“Of course not!” Julia retorted and rolled her eyes. “That jerk was blind! I died–I mean; I almost died because of him. I’m not that naive to still like him after what he has done to me.”
Jared’s skeptical gaze rested on Julia as if he didn’t want to let even a slight reaction from her face escape him. But Julia’s expression was solemn, and she didn’t seem like she was lying, perhaps
because she had hidden it well.
Sucking a deep breath, he spat, “Then why do you still want to go?”
“Tsk. Isn’t it obvious? Of course, to ruin that bitch’s wedding! An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. Since she ruined my wedding, I’ll ruin hers!” Julia intoned coldly.
When her words fell, Jared wasn’t the only one surprised, but Shiloh as well.
“That’s just it?” Jared frowned, still in disbelief.
“Yes, that’s all,” she answered firmly.
Silence ensued once more. Unable to stand the silence, Julia glanced at her phone and said, “The

wedding is about to start, so I’ll head out first.”
With that, she sashayed away, and before she reached the door, Jared spoke again.
“I will go with you.” Jared didn’t wait for her to respond and strode out of the house.
Speechless, Julia stared at him but immediately trailed after him. She boarded his car, and Jared revved up the engine and sped away.
After some time, they arrived at Rosewood Hotel, the wedding venue.
Julia glanced at Jared in the driver’s seat and asked, “You’re not coming in, right?”
She had meticulously planned everything, and if Jared interfered, it might disrupt her plans.
As though he had read her thoughts, he sighed and relented, “I’ll give you thirty minutes. After that, I’ll head inside.”
Julia’s lips slightly parted. Just as she was about to say something, her phone rang, displaying Lincoln’s name.
“Boss, the wedding has started. Why haven’t you arrived yet?” Lincoln’s voice sounded as soon as the call
was connected.
“I’m here,” Julia replied as she unbuckled her seat belt, opened the car door, and stepped out. Standing at the hotel’s entrance, she paused and looked around, memories flooding back to a month ago when she and Carter held their wedding here.
Initially, she thought she was finally marrying her true love, but that very same man turned out to be a scumbag, and she ended up marrying someone else. It was supposed to be a happy day, but it became the saddest and dreariest day, marking the end of her life.
Inside the car, Jared stared at Julia’s lonely figure. He could sense the sadness and sorrow emanating from her. At that moment, the anger had vanished from his heart, replaced by a profound sense of distress.
Every second that passed, his emotions grew more intense, almost driving him to the point where he wanted to rush out of the car, embrace her, and offer her solace. But he restrained himself, knowing well that she didn’t need his comfort right now, and even if he did, it would only be superfluous.
Julia took a deep breath, determination gleaming in her eyes as she entered the hotel.
Inside, the wedding venue buzzed with guests and an air of festivity.
Carter stood on a platform at the end of the aisle, watching as Vivien made her way to him. His lips curled up in a satisfied smile as he saw how beautiful she was.
Vivien continued walking and smiled. Her face was beaming with happiness. When she arrived at the end of the aisle, the wedding officiant began reciting the rite of marriage.
The two of them stood side by side, basking in the well–wishes of the attendees.
“The bride and groom will now exchange rings,” the wedding officiant announced.
Carter lifted the ring and gently took Vivien’s hand, preparing to slip the ring onto her finger. However, a melodious female voice suddenly rang out, attracting their attention.
“Wait a moment.”
