Chapter 55 Jared Called Julia to Go Home
Looking at his brother‘ s expression, Shiloh could immediately tell he was unhappy about Julia’s message.
“Well, she said she would fetch her brother from the hospital. They would eat dinner together and accompany her brother who is looking for a place to live.”
Jared narrowed his eyes. He sat on the sofa and crossed his arms on his chest. He fell quiet, thinking deeply.
‘Why didn’t she bring her brother over? Is she worried about her brother’s food here? Or is there no place for her brother to stay?‘
Neither was the case.
The truth was, she never regarded Jared as her own family.
The more Jared thought about it, the deeper the scowl formed on his face. His body was also slugged as he sat on the sofa.
Watching his brother, Shiloh pursed his lips. He thought Julia wouldn’t come home for one night and planned to meet with her brother.
“This is how it is. If you knew that Julia would attempt to elope on the eighteenth, wouldn’t you go crazy?”
While Shiloh was busy complaining in his mind, Jared took out his phone and dialed a number.
Shiloh didn’t have to guess who it was. He knew his brother too much.
On the other hand, Julia was eating when she felt her phone vibrating. She saw Jared’s name on her screen and quietly glanced at her brother, feeling slightly nervous.
“What’s up?” Julia greeted, feigning calmness.
“Where are you?” Jared asked.
“At home,” Julia replied casually. She didn’t lie, though. She was in the villa, which was her home.
But what Julia didn’t know was that the words at home‘ struck Jared deeply.
‘What did she mean? Isn‘ t our house her home? Am I not her family?‘
“Come back.” These words were not a request but an order. Like Julia didn’t have a choice.
Julia frowned, displeasure forming in her system. Despite this, she calmed herself down. She needed to complete her mission.
“Didn’t your brother inform you? I‘ m accompanying my brother tonight. I’ll be back tomorrow.”
Jared clenched his jaw, displeased.
‘Who’s more important to you? Your brother or me?‘ He almost spat out. Fortunately, he held back.
Of course, he already knew the answer to that.
“Are you really not coming back?” Jared’s tone was much softer compared to the demanding voice earlier. It even sounded soothing, as if his words were making their way to Julia’s heart.

Chapter 55 Jared Called Julia to Go Home
Julia‘ s irritated mood disappeared in an instant and was replaced with a fluttery feeling in her stomach.
Julia placed her hand over her chest, feeling the fast thumping of her heart.
It must be because of Jared’s deep and masculine voice that she found it alluring, especially when it became soft when he talked to her.
‘His voice alone could practically make a woman pregnant,‘ she thought. That must be why she couldn’t control herself earlier. Her face blushed a little.
“Are you okay, Julia? Why is your face so red? Do you have a fever?” Conrad suddenly asked her. He put his hand on her forehead. “Your forehead‘ s hot! You must have caught a cold from the rain earlier.”
Before Julia could return to the villa from the market, the rain suddenly poured, leaving her soaked all over.
She touched her forehead and sighed. It was indeed very hot.
“This body is definitely weak.‘
She kept on complaining about her body in her head when a sudden worried voice entered her
ears.
“Are you okay? Do you have a fever?”
“Y–Yeah. Probably around thirty–eight degrees. It’s not that high.”
Although, she was indeed worried. She was concerned that she might develop a high fever during
the night. That was why she planned to prepare a syringe in advance. If her fever wouldn’t subside from the medicine, she could give herself an injection.
Though administering an injection to her buttocks wasn’t very convenient, it should be manageable with the help of a mirror.
“Where are you? I’ll pick you up?” Jared said on the other line. He stood up from the sofa and immediately reached the door.
“No! I’m fine. You don‘ t need to come here. I’ll take some medicine later,” Julia answered. Jared froze. A serious expression formed on his face.
“Fine. You can stay there, but you have to send me your location. Otherwise, I’ll find you easily if you are just around Monroe City.”
Julia didn’t doubt Jared’s words. With the amount of power and connections the Brooks family had, it would only take him around three hours to locate her.
“Fine.”
Right after she hung up, she sent him the address.
Jared’s eyes widened in surprise as soon as he read Julia’s message.
‘She’s staying in Purple Garden Manor?‘ he thought. And in Villa 8?‘
He remembered that he had set his eyes on this villa in the past. He even sent Joseph to buy the property, but he was told that someone else had already purchased the villa.
Back then, Jared wondered who bought the place. It was sudden. That person even beat him to buy the expensive property.

Now, Julia was staying there.
‘Does she know the owner of the villa?‘
Jared thought he would have difficulty getting an answer without asking Julia. He had already asked Joseph to dig anything about the villa’s owner, but he found nothing.
‘Julia… he thought. ‘You do really keep a lot of secrets.”
On the other side, Carter and Vivien stepped out of the bathroom together. Vivien’s face was flushed, giving off a well–behaved appearance.
“Your health is still not good. You should rest early,” Carter softly told her before holding her hand. He led her to the bed and wiped her wet hair.
They were both silent for a while until Vivien suddenly remembered something. “By the way, Carter, you saw Conrad’s face earlier, right?”
The image of Conrad’s fully recovered face instantly popped into Carter‘ s head.
“You remember, right?” Vivien exclaimed. “Aren‘ t you wondering why Conrad’s face healed suddenly? I remember you told me before that his scars from the burns were so bad that they couldn’t be treated. I also could still remember how awful he looked back then. But today, I didn’t see any trace of burns on his face. Don’t you find that strange?”
Actually, Carter also found it strange. He recalled the day he and Julia got married. It was a month ago. He took Julia to the hospital for her blood, but Conrad desperately charged at them. Carter was so adamant about saving Vivien that he ordered his men to throw Conrad out.
Only later did he learn that Conrad had gone mad and rushed in, so the bodyguards had to break his ribs to stop and get a hold of him.
At that moment, Conrad’s face was still filled with scars. It had only been a month, but now his face looked perfectly fine.
He must have had a miracle.
“Carter,” Vivien interrupted his thoughts. She pulled his sleeves and muttered, “I think there’s only one person in this world who could have such great medical skills.”
Carter‘ s pupils dilated; a name instantly registered in his mind.
“The gifted doctor?”
“I don’t think any other doctor on this planet has such great skills and abilities as much as that doctor. Carter, if we find that gifted doctor, we can save your mother from her heart disease!”
A surge of hope suddenly washed over Carter. Excited, he grabbed Vivien’s hand and said, “And your condition, too! If we can get that doctor’s help, you can also be cured!”
Vivien’s expression slowly dropped. She looked away and murmured, “But… I’m afraid Julia wouldn’t be willing to help us get that doctor. And… I’m scared she might ask you to cancel our wedding in exchange for that information.”
Carter’s brows furrowed. Vivien looked at him with sad eyes. “Still, you should contact Julia as soon as possible. The important thing is to save your mother. Even if it would cost your relationship, I’ll sacrifice.”
“Vivien, don’t overanalyze it. Of course, I won’t let that happen!” Carter promised.
“You‘ re too good to be true, Carter.” Vivien buried her face in his chest, hiding the smug smile

you think you can compete with me, Julia?‘ Vivien inwardly thought. ‘I admit that you are not as easy to deal with as before, but a loser is a loser. You will never be at my level. In this lifetime, you‘ re destined to kiss my feet over and over again!”
Meanwhile, Julia had just finished her night bath and was somehow feeling drowsy. As soon as she went out of the bathroom, she heard her phone buzz.
She picked up the phone. Her eyes immediately widened when she saw who was calling.
“Why is it him?‘
‘Jared?”
She hesitantly answered the call. Before she could say anything, she heard a male voice on the other line.
“I’m outside the door.”
