Chapter 36 Imprisonment
Julia, feeling confident in her medical skills, administered injections to a man named Jared without any adverse reactions. However, as she attempted to free herself from his
grasp, a deep, low–pitched voice abruptly sounded in her ear, commanding her not
to move.
Obeying the order, Julia stopped struggling and blinked, unsure of what was happening.
Seconds ticked by–one, ten, thirty–and a full minute passed, yet the man remained motionless, holding her tightly.
Julia’s mind raced as she analyzed the situation. She deduced that the medication she had administered had subdued the effects within Jared’s body, leading him to perceive her as a comfortable pillow.
The tight confinement of the man’s arms made Julia extremely uncomfortable. She struggled and exerted effort to break free, her face turning red from exertion, but her attempts proved futile.
“Why is he so strong?” Julia wondered as she poked at his sturdy arm, feeling its unyielding hardness.
Exhaustion soon overwhelmed her, and with a heavy yawn, Julia grew increasingly sleepy, her eyelids struggling to stay open.
Annoyed, she pounded the man’s chest and asked, “Why must you be so muscular?” The room fell silent again, except for the man’s slightly rough breathing.
“You’re sleeping so peacefully,” he remarked.
Frustrated, Julia stared at the ceiling momentarily, then decided to make the best of the situation and settle in.
She twisted her body into a cat–like posture and searched for the most comfortable sleeping position within the man’s arms.
“Ah, this is the most comfortable way to sleep,” she concluded, finally finding a cozy spot. With her eyes closed, she drifted beautifully into slumber.
A peaceful night followed.
As the first rays of morning sunlight streamed through the window, they slept soundly on the double bed.
As the two of them were deep asleep, a sudden loud noise from outside disturbed their slumber.
Cameron had arrived quickly, worried about what might have happened between Julia and Jared the previous night.
“Why did you come so early?” Shiloh questioned as he saw Cameron rush in
“Where’s your brother?” Cameron asked urgently.

Cameron had arrived quickly, worried about what might have happened between Julia and Jared the previous night.
“Why did you come so early? Shiloh questioned as he saw Cameron rush in
“Where’s your brother?” Cameron asked urgently.

Shiloh could already tell who she was referring to without naming her specifically.
“My brother is still asleep,” he replied.
“And what about her?” Cameron inquired further.
Referring to Julia, Shiloh responded, “She should be in her own room.”
Cameron felt a sense of relief upon hearing this.
“I heard that Jared was drugged last night. Did Julia do it?” she asked, suspecting Julia’s involvement.
“The Scott Family was behind it,” Shiloh recalled Joseph’s explanation from the previous night.
Cameron, however, was convinced that Julia had used the Scott Family as a cover to secretly drug Jared without their knowledge. Her anger was evident.
Shiloh furrowed his eyebrows, having entertained similar suspicions before. But he dismissed those thoughts when he saw Jared covered in needles the previous night. Now, he wondered if Julia had played hard to get.
Amidst the chaos, Shiloh found it difficult to discern the truth anymore.
“I’ll
go find Jared and ask him to drive Julia out of his house,” Cameron declared determinedly.
After Cameron finished speaking, she hurried upstairs and knocked on the door of Jared’s room.
Dang!
“Who is it? It’s so noisy!” Julia, who had been soundly asleep, grumbled as she reached. out to pull the blanket over her head, trying to block out the disturbance.
Ignoring the commotion, Jared furrowed his brows, waking up to find the girl wrapped in the blanket, leaving none for him.
Dang! The knocking on the door persisted stubbornly.
Feeling increasingly irritated, Julia grabbed the pillow from under Jared’s head and placed it on her own.
Reluctantly, Jared got up and opened the door.
“What are you doing here?” he asked.
“I’m sorry, Jared. I didn’t mean to wake you up. I heard about it last night and was worried, so I came over to check on you,” Cameron explained, glancing up and down at Jared.
“Done seeing? You can go now,” Jared said expressionlessly, closing the door.
“Jared!” Cameron reached out to stop the door from closing. “Are you okay? Do you want me to call a doctor for you?”
Before Cameron could finish her sentence, she was interrupted by Julia’s impatient
voice.
“It’s so
noisy! Are you done or not?” Julia exclaimed, clearly annoyed by the interruption.
