Chapter 238: Because Julia Is The Apprentice Of The Divine Doctor
In disbelief, Philip shouted back, “You–what did you say? The reason you established this company is because of Julia?!” Philip was so shocked at what his son had said.
Yasmin stared at Julia with indescribably strange eyes. Philip’s anger was evident in his voice and facial expression, yet Julia’s face looked almost the same, but she knew she was on top of this madness.
“That’s right! Do you know why the divine doctor will cooperate with our company?” Conrad said aggrievedly.
Julia got tensed and gulped at what Conrad was about to say. She couldn’t say anything because she knew Conrad was also at his wit’s end.
Not only did Philip want to know what Conrad had said, but everyone in Monroe City and even the entire empire wanted to know who the divine doctor was and why they were willing to cooperate with J&C Limited of all the companies in the city.
Under Philip’s extremely expectant and puzzled gaze, Conrad said, “Because Julia is the apprentice of the divine doctor!”
A profound hush descended upon the room, and only a soft gasp would be heard from Philip and
Yasmin.
The shock that gripped Philip and Yasmin at that moment far exceeded their initial surprise upon discovering Conrad’s role as the head of J&C Limited.
The revelation of Julia as the divine doctor’s apprentice carried immense weight. It was something they couldn’t even imagine, but it seemed possible by how the events had turned out.
Julia, seemingly unperturbed by the turmoil, lounged on the sofa, her demeanor relaxed, and her eyebrows arched as she cast a knowing look upon Philip and Yasmin.
After a brief pause, Julia shifted her gaze to Conrad, her voice laced with nonchalance and a touch of hospitality, “Brother, don’t concern yourself with them. Come and join us for a meal. I’ve prepared your favorite dishes; they’ll lose their warmth if you don’t partake.”
Acknowledging the invitation with a subtle nod, Conrad made his way to the table.
“Brother, indulge in this shrimp. I visited the docks this morning and plucked it fresh from the sea,” Julia offered her chopsticks, expertly maneuvering a succulent shrimp into Conrad’s bowl. Conrad’s radiant smile graced as he reciprocated, extending a morsel of food to Julia. The atmosphere between the two siblings was warm, as if they had their world. At the same time, Philip and Yasmin stood aside and were ignored and rendered insignificant.
“Impossible! How could Julia be the apprentice of the miraculous doctor? You are lying!” Yasmin’s face was filled with disbelief.
Compared to Julia, she was the proud daughter of this family. How could Julia, that good–for–nothing, possibly be superior to her? Then, an idea in her mind made Yasmin laugh. She nodded and said, “I know! You said that on purpose, to humiliate my dad! Since childhood, Julia has been inept and useless and didn’t study medicine in college. The miraculous doctor is the top doctor in our empire. How could such a prestigious figure accept someone like Julia, who knows nothing about medical skills, as his apprentice?”
The more Yasmin analyzed it, the more convinced she became of her argument. Conrad, being the head of J&C Limited, was impossible but could be a possibility. Hence, with Julia’s talent, even

if she tried seducing a prestigious doctor, it would be impossible.
Philip also found Yasmin’s words reasonable.
The two siblings were likely trying to get back at him to drive them out, introducing Julia to the senior boss and making Julia blame Yasmin, so they intentionally claimed that the miraculous doctor was Julia’s mentor. Upon reflection, all of this seemed utterly implausible.
Julia was a failure. From childhood to adulthood, she had been mediocre and unsuccessful in everything she attempted. Consequently, Philip seldom took Julia to social events; it could have been more embarrassing.
“Brother, let’s forget about them and enjoy our meal,” Julia told Conrad, offering him another portion of vegetables.
Philip erupted in anger, “Conrad, let me ask
“Conrad, let me ask you, do you still consider me your father?”
Conrad paused during his meal and said, “Didn’t you cast us out?”
“At that time, were you still dwelling on your past mistakes? Are you that petty? Let me ask you, will you truly never return for the rest of your life? Will you not even attend my funeral if I die?” Philip angrily mumbled.
“How is that possible? We’ll be informed when you die. Despite your ruthlessness, we still have a conscience. When you pass away, we’ll come to pay our respects,” Julia continued from where Philip had left off.
“You-” Philip was seethed with anger, his fingertips trembling.
As expected, Julia’s words were enraging. He had already deduced that the key to this matter today lay with Conrad; there was no use trying to reason with Julia. She was too disrespectful and
an ingrate.
“Conrad, I’m your father, and you must come back to me today. Ask yourself, have I ever owed you anything? If I hadn’t raised and put you through college, would you have achieved what you have today? Now that you’ve prospered, you no longer acknowledge me as your father? Your conduct is worse than that of an animal! Doesn’t your conscience trouble you?” Philip continued with his persuasion.
Julia frowned when she heard those words from Philip and looked at Conrad with concern.
Conrad was different from her. Philip had never favored her since she was a child. On the other hand, Conrad excelled academically and, after joining Watson’s company, exhibited remarkable skills, earning the recognition of the entire company. However, after Conrad’s face was disfigured, Philip distanced himself.
With Philip’s provocation through such words, she was worried that their parents would brainwash him and take advantage of him.
Conrad stood up, his face cold as he confronted Philip, “Yes, I admit that you treated me better than Julia since our childhood. But Julia is also your child. Why have you been so harsh on her? I don’t believe that, for all these years, you were unaware that Yasmin and her mother conspired to mistreat Julia.
If
you claim not to have known, I can only say you’re blind.”
Philip wanted to argue that he was too busy with work to notice, but Conrad cut him off.
Things were just as Conrad had said; they were a family living together daily. If Philip genuinely had no knowledge of Yasmin and her daughter’s mistreatment of Julia, then he must indeed be blind.

“Your stepmother mistreated Julia because she wanted Julia to improve and not remain a failure, so she deliberately pushed her to achieve more. Who knew Julia would resist improving!” Philip defended. It was how he saw what was happening, and Julia was born unlucky and ungrateful. Philip always believed he was right and had a stubborn personality. He didn’t think he needed to admit his mistakes, especially regarding Julia.
From the depths of his heart, he believed that all of this was Julia’s fault, that Julia’s behavior had. led to the current situation. Thus, neither Julia nor Conrad had the right to criticize him.
Upon hearing Philip’s words, Conrad looked deeply disappointed. So he said to Philip, “I should have expected this. Julia is right. Talking to you is a waste of breath and expectations. Just leave. Cooperation is impossible.”
“What did you say?” Philip shouted as if he wanted to rush forward and confront someone.
“Conrad, you’re a disobedient beast, just like your sister. You’re a bastard! I originally came here today to cooperate with you. Now, I’ve changed my mind!”
“Oh?” Julia looked at Philip with a puzzled expression. She was curious about what Philip would say next but expected it to be neither surprising nor critical.
Philip approached the office chair and sat down, acting like he was the office’s owner. He stared down at Conrad and Julia as if they were insignificant.
“Conrad, everything you have was given to you by me, including your life. If you want to sever ties with me completely, I can grant you that. But from today onwards, J&C Limited belongs to me!”
