Chapter 231: Evil Begets Evil!
‘I knew it was a trap,‘ Julia thought.
Julia knew before she came here that Karla had horrid plans. In fact, she had prepared herself for it.
However, Maddie was pregnant and didn’t want to put her under stress or harm, so she went anyway.
Also, Julia never thought Karla would use Maddie to threaten her, thinking Karla wouldn’t have the
guts to do so.
This, after all, was a serious crime. If people found out, Karla could go to jail.
Suddenly, the door slammed shut with a loud noise, and all Julia heard was Karla’s voice sounding really mean.
“Everybody, surround her, and don’t let her run away!”
Julia tried to open her eyes wider, but it hurt more when she did, and her vision got blurrier. Now, she could only sort of see people moving around.
“What are you trying to do, Karla?”
“Hahaha,” Karla laughed wickedly. “Remember how you mocked me before? Well, today, I’ve set up a little surprise for you. I’ve gathered some rather intimidating older men, even scarier than Paul, and I’ve given them drugs. I’m just here to watch you get embarrassed. Oh, and by the way, I called the police and reporters. Tonight, you, Julia, will be the talk of the town!”
Staying alert, Julia asked, “Karla, who helped you do this?”
She thought that even Karla, with her cunning and two–faced nature, shouldn’t have had the audacity to orchestrate something of this level.
Julia pondered the situation and speculated that someone else might be pulling the strings behind the scenes.
But who could it be?
Julia composed herself and meticulously considered the people she had recently crossed paths with. Then, she inwardly listed a potential suspect. However, it was all mere conjecture, lacking concrete evidence.
‘Am I just overthinking things?”
“What about Maddie? Where is she?!”
With a sly grin, Karla responded, “You better worry about yourself. Maddie insulted me, and I won’t let her off.”
A sudden darkness clouded Julia’s expression. Fortunately, she had forewarned Henry; otherwise, Maddie might have been in grave danger.
Yet, Julia couldn’t help but wonder if Henry had arrived on the scene by now.
While Julia was lost in her thoughts, Karla picked up a glass of prepared water and offered it to her.
“Julia, drink this water,” Karla said. “It’ll make things easier for you later, maybe even enjoyable.”
Julia scoffed, “You seem quite familiar with this.”
Karla’s expression turned sinister, and she stared at Julia intensely. “You should appreciate my kindness before it ends, Julia. We were once like sisters, so I’m trying to be gentle with you. If you

don’t drink it, you’ll regret it.”
After a brief pause, Julia sighed in resignation.
“Fine! There are so many of you around, so I can’t escape. Give me the water.”
As Julia couldn’t see, Karla placed the glass in her hand. But as she pretended to get it, Julia swiftly grabbed Karla’s arm, locking her in a chokehold.
“Ah!” Karla cried out in pain as Julia tightened her grip.
Then, Julia forced the water from the glass into Karla’s mouth. Karla struggled to spit it out, but Julia maintained her hold.
Amid this struggle, the group of older men affected by the drug began to react, rushing toward them.
Karla’s eyes widened in shock.
“Julia, please, let me go!” she pleaded.
Julia smirked and released her, pushing Karla into the midst of the older men. They descended on her like a pack of wild animals, and Karla’s screams filled the air.
Meanwhile, some men diverted their attention to Julia, who couldn’t see clearly and had to rely on her hearing to gauge the situation.
Suddenly, someone grabbed her shoulder.
Julia quickly grabbed the person’s wrist and pulled it downward, eliciting a blood–curdling
scream.
More assailants approached one after the other, and Julia could only stall for time, hoping her vision would recover soon. She also wondered about Henry and whether he had managed to rescue Maddie.
Meanwhile, in a different room, Maddie looked terrified as two older men closed in on her.
“Don’t you
dare come any closer! I’m pregnant, and you can’t touch me. There are three babies inside me, and if anything happens to them, you’ll face legal consequences!” Maddie said, stepping back against the wall.
The two older men exchanged lecherous glances.
“I’ve been with many women, but never a pregnant one. Today, I’ll give it a try,” one of them smirked.
Maddie panicked, shouting, “Help! Stay away from me!”
They pushed Maddie against the wall, and one man grabbed her wrist.
“Don’t worry; we’ll be gentle,” he said, licking his lips as he got closer.
Terrified, Maddie closed her eyes. After a moment, she heard one of the men talk.
“Who are you?!”
Maddie felt relieved, thinking Julia had come to help her! She opened her eyes excitedly but saw Henry instead.
Henry, looking serious, grabbed one of the men’s hands and said, “You dare to touch the mother of my child?”
He said as he twisted the man’s wrist.

The man’s hand broke, and then Henry kicked the man’s knee.
Crack!
The man’s knee shattered.
Maddie looked at Henry with trembling eyes, feeling an unexpected fondness for him.
After dealing with the two men, Henry rushed to Maddie’s side and asked, “Are you okay?” Maddie’s eyes flickered slightly, masking her emotions. “I’m fine, I’m fine. Oh! What about Julia?”
“You don’t have to worry about Julia. Jared is here,” Henry reassured her.
