Chapter 195: Vivien Gets Arrested
Lilian was left speechless at that moment. “You, what did you just say?” Lilian was so shocked that her words stumbled.
In her memory, Julia’s survival seemed unlikely without her son. Her son was everything to Julia, so she had always kept a tight hold on him.
Before Vivien entered the scene and Julia took a bad turne she thought Julia was somewhat barely satisfactory as a potential future partner of her son.

Even when her son and Julia broke up, and Julia kept confronting their Ross family and mistreating Vivien, she still thought Julia had some lingering feelings for her son.
However, just now, her son told her that Julia was already married, but not to him, which completely blew her mind.
Vivien was equally surprised. ‘How was that even possible? How could Julia marry someone else?*
Just as Vivien pondered this, the image of Jared Brook’s face, even more dashing than Carter’s, popped into her mind. ‘Could it be him?‘
“It’s true,” Carter furrowed his brows and confirmed, his gaze complicated as he stared at Julia.
Lilian’s mouth could’ve caught flies with how wide it was as she gawked at Julia, unable to find words.
“Got anything else to add? If not, I’m out of here,” Julia raised an eyebrow, a touch of detached amusement in her gaze.
Faced with Julia’s indifferent eyes, Carter and his companions felt an inexplicable unease. Carter stepped up, facing Julia head–on. “I just gotta ask, were you involved with the overseas group going bankrupt? Did that person help you?”
“Nope,” Julia replied with honesty. “Come on, not him? Seriously? Who could pull off something like that if it’s not him?” Carter’s “who” clearly referred to people in Jiulia’s circle. Julia just grinned and said, “Take a wild guess.”
These three words made Carter feel pretty uneasy.
“Oh, That’s right,” Julia recalled something and glanced at Vivien. “You were the one who shared that photo, weren’t you?” Vivien’s heart raced with fear, and Carter also shifted his attention to
her.
Vivien shook her head vigorously, saying, “It wasn’t me. I didn’t do it.”
Julia’s gaze shifted towards Carter. “If it wasn’t you, then it seems the only one left is you, Carter.” Carter responded firmly, “I’ve already told you I wouldn’t do something like that. And about the cooperation with the overseas group, I’ve apologized to you for it. I admit I was wrong. But I didn’t do anything inappropriate to you. I just pulled your clothes a bit, that’s all. I-”
“Get lost, you jerk!” Julia’s disgust for Carter was growing by the minute. His woman was harassed, and Carter had the nerve to downplay it as if it was just a simple tug on her clothes. “Seriously? Just pulled at her clothes‘? Do you need the guy to do something major, like getting her pregnant, before you decide to react? You strut around like you’re some big shot, thinking every woman should be at your beck and call. The truth is, any woman who ends unlucky for not just one but eight lifetimes!”

Chapter 195: Vivien Gets Arrested
Julia’s words berated Carter and unwittingly implicated Vivien in the argument.
Vivien bit her lip and shifted her gaze toward Carter.
Being a woman herself, Vivien felt a twinge of fear at the thought of the possibility of such a situation. Carter caught Vivien’s unease and promptly reassured her, “Vivien, don’t let your imagination run wild. Remember, I promised to protect you for a lifetime. I would never do something like that.”
As she heard this, Vivien felt reassured. She got her confidence back and shot Julia a triumphant look. The message was crystal clear ‘See? You’re not like me. In Carter’s heart, I’m way above you.‘
Out of the blue, Julia burst into laughter.
Vivien’s victorious expression faded, and unease crept over her.
Julia then walked over and stood in front of Vivien.
“What are you going to do?” Lilian stepped forward, putting herself between Julia and Vivien.
Carter also embraced Vivien tightly. He had previously witnessed Julia’s strength. Even though he didn’t understand why Julia suddenly became so powerful, now wasn’t the moment to think about that.
Julia almost turned him into a punching bag before, and Vivien, being a delicate girl, would fare
even worse.
Looking confident, Julia glanced at Vivien and said, “You can deny it all you want, but I’ve got the evidence.”
After those photos started making the rounds, she quickly told Lincoln to get the Alliance on it. And guess what? This morning, right after breakfast, Lincoln called her and spilled the beans that Vivien was the mastermind behind the plot.
Honestly, Julia had suspected it all along. She just needed the hard evidence.
Vivien’s heart raced, but she tried to calm herself down. No way, she thought. She was sure this plan was foolproof and untraceable. Julia was probably bluffing, hoping to catch her off guard and get her to spill the beans.
Yeah, that had to be it!
“Pshh! Julia, quit trying to stir up trouble. Vivien’s a sweetheart. You’re not her, after all. I can vouch for her; she’s incapable of this!” Lilian staunchly defended Vivien, even more than Carter did. To her, Vivien was the ideal daughter–in–law she had always dreamed of.
“Woooo-” At that moment, police sirens blared in the distance. Julia’s attention shifted toward the direction of the sound first, then Carter and the others followed suit, focusing their gazes on the source of the police siren.
The police car’s siren blared as it approached, eventually stopping in front of Julia and the others. Lilian looked at Julia with a mocking expression. “Julia, have you broken the law again? Are the officers here for you?”
Julia said nothing, his gaze locked with Lilian’s, a slight smirk playing on his lips, leaving her slightly unnerved.
The police officer exited the car, scanning the group before fixing their gaze on Vivien.
“Are you Vivien Smith?”
With those words, Carter and Lilian’s attention zeroed in on Vivien.
Vivien’s face drained of color as fear gripped her. After a brief pause, she composed herself and asked, “Yes, I’m Vivien Smith. Can I help you, officer?” The police officer displayed a photo of an overseas executive tugging Julia’s clothes.
“The
person in this photo reported an incident. You allegedly disseminated false information, paid influencers to spread rumors, and hired many internet users to insult the victim. And it has led to damage to the victim’s reputation. Please come with us now.”
Freaked out, Vivien stepped back again and again. “I–I seriously didn’t do this. She’s just out to get me. She can’t stand me, so she’s cooking up this story to get me in trouble and make up those lies.” Carter and Lilian formed a protective shield around Vivien. “Officer, come on! You can’t just take Julia’s word for it. You need proof before you arrest someone. Vivien is a total sweetheart, always kind and gentle. She’s like a walking ball of kindness. There’s no way she’d do something crazy and mean like this.” Lilian’s tone was becoming more defensive of Vivien and accusatory towards Julia. Lilian shot daggers at Julia with her eyes, like she wanted to give her a piece of her mind.
Just as Carter was about to step in and defend Vivien, the police officer chimed in.
