Chapter 191: Juno
Chapter 191: Juno
“That man just now!‘
Julia’s gaze swung towards the path Randel had taken moments ago. Now, he had totally disappeared. But his silhouette lingered in her mind. And when she compared it with the figures in the photo, they looked the same.
However, concluding based on a similar back wasn’t reasonable. She lifted a hand to her chin, pondering deeply. She had finally decided. Maybe it was high time for her to visit their mansion. Oh, right, she had asked Lincoln to look into her family’s situation. Maybe he had discovered the location of the Watson’s Mansion.
In the midst of her musings, a mobile phone’s ringtone chimed. Julia assumed it was her phone, but to her surprise, Jared picked up a call. Julia blinked in bafflement. ‘Since when did he match. his ringtone to mine?‘
Moreover, she noticed his phone case was identical to hers. It was also in the shade of dark violet. Julia chuckled, shaking her head. ‘Weird.‘
“Hello?” fared didn’t distance himself from her as he spoke on the phone.
“Jared! I heard someone broke into the Watson’s Mansion last night?” Yannie‘ s concerned voice sounded over the phone. Upon learning the news, she immediately dialed his number.
“Yeah,” Jared timidly replied.
“Who could it be? An enemy of the Watsons? Or could it be Julia herself?” Yannie‘ s doubts about Julia never dissipated. She always suspected her motives, thinking the Watsons sent her to spy on their family.
While these speculations weighed heavily on her, what truly troubled Yannie was the thought that Julia might harm her son. This concern was fueled by Cameron, who incited agitating and radical ideas about Julia. That was why Yannie would do whatever it took to distance Jared from that wench–even if it meant resorting to extreme measures.
Jared heaved a deep sigh. “It has nothing to do with her. She spent the night with me.”
For a moment, Julia froze in embarrassment. She then lifted her gaze to Jared’s phone. ‘Is he talking about me? Who is he talking to?”
“Oh, so you two slept together. What if she sneaked out while you were asleep?” Yannie speculated. She intended to evict Julia from their family.
“That’s impossible.” Jared’s quick and firm response momentarily silenced Yannie.
“You never know. Maybe she had an accomplice.”
“Those are all your speculations. You have no evidence to prove your claims.” Jared scowled in disappointment.
Once more, Yannie found herself frustrated at her son’s words.
With a sigh, Yannie spoke. “You can’t blame me if I’m being suspicious. It’s not that I want to single her out, but I’m genuinely concerned about you. What if she hurts you?”
“I understand your concern. But you’re wrong.”
A deep sigh escaped Yannie. A new idea dawned on her, and she instantly shared it with her son. “I actually have another theory. Could it be Juno?”
Honestly, Yannie‘ s guess matched Jared’s suspicions. However, they had no proof.
“I’m not sure, but the person looked like a man. Based on his back features, he might be the same age as me.”
Yannie grew emotional at this revelation. “Oh, my God! It’s him! It’s Juno! He must have returned!”
Walking back and forth excitedly, she rambled, “If he’s back, why hasn’t he contacted us? He’s the only one who knows what happened in the house that day. Why hasn’t he reached out? Could it be he doesn’t trust us?”
“I doubt it. If he’s truly back, his reason for not seeking us out might be a personal vendetta.”
Both Jared and Yannie had deduced that the fire in the Watson’s home wasn’t accidental. They believed that perhaps Juno was still alive. But why didn’t he approach them yet? This could only imply the fire was intentional.
Juno…
The name stirred something within Julia. The name felt familiar, like a whisper of a long–forgotten melody. She racked her brain, but her mind struggled to reclaim the memory. But like sand slipping through her fingers, the harder she tried to grasp it, the further it slipped away. Nevertheless, she pressed on. She felt an urgency that his name held great significance. She shouldn’t forget.
At that moment, fragments of memories regarding that name flashed in her head. A young girl’s sweet voice echoed in her mind.
“Juno! Come play with me!”
“Juno! Don’t tell Mom I had ten candies today!”
“Juno, I want to ride the horse!”
He must be someone incredibly dear to her. The pain of not fully remembering tugged at her heart.
Was the person in the photograph Juno? If so, he might return to the Watson’s Mansion, all the more reason for her to go there.
“What are you spacing out for? Let’s go, it’s mealtime. Why don’t we grab a bite?” Jared’s voice brought her back to reality. She nodded and followed him.
Meanwhile, as they approached the hospital exit, Randel paused and glanced back toward the inpatient building. Gary followed his gaze, arching a brow.
“What’s up? Can’t stop thinking about that girl?” Gary teased.
Randel rolled his eyes, scowling. “What do you take me for?”
Gary chuckled at his reaction. “You can’t blame me, Bro. You‘ re handsome and charming. So you‘ re popular among women.”
Randel shook his head. He was about to retort back when Gary spoke again. “Honestly, that woman looks pretty. Aren’t you smitten with her? If you are, let’s head back.”
“She‘ d surely love to date you, given your looks and fortune,” Gary added.
Gary tugged on Randel‘ s arm, speaking with an urgency, fingers clenched tightly, showing his impatience.
“I don’t think I see her as a woman.” Randel halted, his brows furrowing as he came to a stop. He let out a sigh, the creases on his forehead deepening. “She reminded me of someone. She

resembled someone I know. But it’s impossible.”
“Huh?” Gary’s confusion was evident as he struggled to grasp the meaning of his words. “What do you mean?”
“She looked so much like her. But it would be too impossible to see her again.”
Randel pondered, his mind conjuring images of his little sister‘ s captivating starlit eyes that held the brilliance of a billion stars. The memory was vivid, those eyes etched into his thoughts, sparkling like a universe within.
Gary scratched the back of his head, his words casual yet tinged with a hint of curiosity. “I got lost in your explanation. So, are you going after her or not? If you’re not, let’s just grab a bite to eat. Take your time to decide, no regrets, okay?”
Randel lifted his gaze, his eyes shifting upward to the sky, and a fleeting, melancholic smile graced his lips.
“She’s gone.”
“Who’s gone? You mean that girl you have a crush on?” Gary’s voice held a teasing note like he was pulling Randel‘ s leg.
“There’s no need for me to chase after someone who’s already gone.”
