Chapter 179: Jared Is Here
“I’m heading over to my brother’s place,” Julia replied flatly before walking out of the villa gate without a backward glance, departing without any hint of sentimentality.
“Hey, wait! Don’t go!” Shiloh moved as if to follow her, but Henry held him back.
“Why are you stopping me?” Shiloh shrugged off Henry’s grip, determined to chase after Julia.
Henry’s frustration reached its peak as he raised his voice. “Why are you trying to interfere in your brother’s business? What’s with this nosy behavior?”
Having already taken several steps in pursuit, Shiloh stopped upon hearing Henry’s words. He turned toward Henry, his head tilted in bewilderment.
Henry approached Shiloh and glanced in the direction Julia had left, speaking slowly, “As they say, couples might quarrel at the head of the bed but make up at the foot of it. What’s a little nephew like you doing, tagging along behind like an anxious eunuch? Just because they’re having a fierce. argument doesn’t mean they won’t be all lovey–dovey in private. Who knows, while you’re panicking here without any solutions in mind, they might already have embraced each other in
love.”
“Is that really how it works?” Shiloh asked, looking at Henry with a skeptical expression.
“Forget about the details. My parents are like that, and my uncles and aunts, too. I’ve noticed a similar pattern among my friends‘ parents as well,” Henry analyzed, rubbing his chin.
Listening to Henry’s explanation, Shiloh began to recall scenes from romantic dramas, and it occurred to him that it might indeed work that way.
If that were the case, maybe he shouldn’t meddle in their affairs. Interfering might just result in him being showered with affection, as Henry had suggested.
After reaching a resolution, Shiloh returned to the villa and focused on his own tasks.
Meanwhile, in Villa 8 of the Purple Garden Manor, Conrad poured two glasses of water and handed one to Julia.
“Thank you,” Julia acknowledged.
Sitting across from her, Conrad regarded her steadily. Gradually, a hint of concern surfaced in his
warm countenance.
After a while, he ventured, “Did you two have an argument?”
As he posed the question, Conrad noticed a fleeting expression cross Julia’s face, confirming his suspicion that they were indeed experiencing problems.
“You’re not planning to go back tonight?” he asked again, choosing not to pry further into the
matter.
“No, I won’t be going back,” Julia replied, shaking her head.
“Alright, what would you like for dinner tonight? I’ll cook for you,” Conrad offered, looking at Julia with an affectionate gaze.
Feeling the warmth in Conrad’s eyes, Julia’s heart swelled. Her big brother was indeed the best. Regardless of the situation, she knew she could always count on this place to be her sanctuary.
Indeed, the love of family was an unparalleled treasure.
“I’d like to have-” Julia began, only to be interrupted by the ringing doorbell.
Her words hung in the air as they both turned their attention toward the entrance. Conrad

glanced back at Julia, pondering, “Could it be him?”
Julia found herself wondering as well, ‘Is it really Jared? Has he really come?‘ Julia’s brow furrowed slightly as she held her glass, tilting her head down a little.
After a brief back tonight.”
pause, she spoke, “It’s probably not him. He mentioned that he wouldn’t be coming
She took a sip from her glass, attempting to obscure her thoughts. Part of her statement was directed at Conrad, but another part was an internal reflection.
Conrad’s eyebrows knitted elegantly as he thought, ‘Had they really gotten into such a serious quarrel? Is Jared really not coming back? No wonder Julia came back upset.‘
“I’ll go and check it,” Conrad said, rising from his seat and heading towards the entrance. Julia remained with her head lowered, sipping her water while her brow became increasingly furrowed and her grip on the glass tightened.
Her emotions were tangled in complexity. She couldn’t help but contemplate, ‘If it’s truly Jared at the door, how should I face him? Should I go back with him? But that would be humiliating, right? Yet, if Jared is sincere, should I reconsider returning?”
Amidst her internal struggle, her mind suddenly rewound to earlier moments. She had repeatedly mentioned Carter during her conversation with Jared. If she were in his position, how would she react if the person she cared about constantly brought up their ex? Would she respond more fiercely than Jared did?
Julia contemplated this with care. ‘If I were in his shoes, I might have reacted even more strongly out of jealousy and insecurity, right?”
Just as she was caught in this internal turmoil, Conrad’s slightly grave voice cut through her thoughts.
“Why are you here?”
Those words snapped Julia’s attention back to reality.
It wasn’t Jared.
Turning her gaze toward the entrance, Julia’s eyes narrowed slightly as she spotted Philip standing there.
‘How did he find this place?‘ She wondered.
“You guys really live here?” Philip asked, looking between Conrad and Julia with astonishment.
When Julia mentioned living in the villa area of Purple Garden Manor before, Philip took it as a joke and responded sarcastically.
Little did Philip know that earlier that morning, a friend of his had visited the boss, who resided. in Purple Garden Manor. This friend claimed to have witnessed Philip’s son entering Villa S.
In the past few days, Julia and Conrad had been ignoring Philip’s calls, leaving him unable to reach them. Upon hearing this news, he hurried over to see if it was true. Moreover, due to Yasmin’s situation, he needed to discuss matters with them urgently.
As Philip glanced around the villa, the grandeur of Purple Garden Manor struck him with envy. A tinge of red crept into his eyes as he barged in, his envy pushing aside any hesitations.
While Conrad and Julia found Philip to be a nuisance, they couldn’t disregard his role as their father. As much as they disliked it, they couldn’t simply turn him away.

“Are you two working here?” Philip asked the only logical explanation he could fathom. After all, this place was known as the Villa King of Purple Garden Manor. Julia and Conrad couldn’t afford it on their own, and Philip couldn’t help but assume that they were serving as bodyguards or servants for the owner.
Julia responded in her usual detached manner, her gaze fixed firmly on Philip. “None of your business. What do you want? Get to the point.”
‘Get to the point? Does she think I can’t sense her sarcasm?‘ Philip fumed inwardly, his frustration tinting his face a deeper shade of purple.
Struggling to control his irritation, Philip’s complexion shifted to a redder hue. “Julia, I know despise Yasmin and her daughter, but she’s still your sister. I won’t say much more. I’m pleading with you. For the sake of my reputation as your father, can you please take the blame for your sister? The Watson family can’t do without her.”
you
‘Here it comes again, Julia thought, mentally rolling her eyes in exasperation. She absentmindedly prodded her ear, becoming increasingly annoyed.
Conrad stepped forward, interjecting firmly, “You don’t need to say anything. I will absolutely not agree to Julia taking the blame for anyone.”
Philip clenched his aging lips, his expression growing tense. After a deep breath, he muttered through his reddened face, “Fine! Fine! Fine! Since the two of you won’t comply, then I’ll kneel before you!”
With those words, Philip dropped to his knees, the impact resonating through the room.
