Chapter 139: Cameron Ran Out of Jared’s Study In A Panic
Why can’t Julia see that Jared did it on purpose? She just wanted to piss off Lincoln. She had to kill Lincoln before he broke out completely.
In fact, Lincoln was so angry that he was pacing back and forth.
“You deal with them first.” Julia withdrew her hand from the man’s palm and looked at Lincoln. Lincoln could hear what Julia meant, and it was evident that he should not interfere.
Julia has been taken advantage of so much, yet she still lets Lincoln hold her hand.
If it were Alexander, he would have been crying a lot.
After they went back, Lincoln called Julia. “Boss, haven’t you already got the things? Why are you still staying at Brook’s house? Hurry up and divorce Jared!”
“Not yet,” a short response from her.
Hearing what Julia said, Lincoln became anxious. “You don’t like Jared, do you? He’s not a good person. He’s just a glamorous man. In fact, he’s very sinister. Otherwise, how could he be the Patriarch of the Brooks family?”
“He is not sinister but a means of self–protection. He can only climb to the top to protect himself and his family.” Julia couldn’t help but need to defend Jared for some reason.
“Boss, you’re speaking up for him!” Lincoln thought it was over, but Julia’s goal seemed to turn to the other side.
“I’m not speaking up for him. I’m just stating a fact. Most importantly, I really can’t leave now.” Julia explained the specific process of signing the contract with Jared in detail.
“What? One year? This Jared is really despicable! Boss, you’ve been tricked. What year? He must have added ‘zero‘ after ‘one‘ in your contract details!”
“You think he’s a rogue, like you?”
Even before she signed the agreement, Julia had the same idea Lincoln had discussed. But because Jared seemed lovely, he didn’t think he would do such a thing.
Just as Julia thought, Jared didn’t do what Lincoln thought he might have done. However, he added two zeros after one. But why is she okay with it?
“He held your hand and kissed you before me that day. Isn’t that despicable? Why doesn’t he behave like a gentleman?” Lincoln said, unconvinced.
“Okay, let’s leave this matter as it is. You know that I always keep my promises. Since I promised Jared, I will fulfill the agreement according to the contract. It’s only a year, and it will be over soon.” Julia said, wanting to end the conversation.
Although Lincoln was worried, there was nothing he could do. Instead, he asked, “By the way, boss, what are you planning to do on the day of the alliance mission? Will you hand over the Little Jade Statue and then follow the clues to find out who issued the mission?”
Julia sighed silently as she replied, “Don’t worry, I have a feeling that there’s some secret in this Little Jade Statue, but I haven’t researched it yet. Please wait for me to study it for a while. If I still can’t find any clues, I’ll take the Little Jade Statue to complete the task.”
There was silence on the other side of the line. But in the end, Lincoln said, “Okay. Then I’ll keep this matter hidden for you, for now.”
“Thanks.” After that, she hung up on the phone.

Then, Julia lay on the bed, took the Little Jade Statue off her neck, lifted it up, and placed it under the light to study it carefully.
After obtaining the Little Jade Statue, she soaked it in water, heated it, and refrigerated it, trying to uncover the mystery, but all her attempts failed. Her intuition told her that this Little Jade Statue must hold a secret.
What could the secret be? Julia pondered deeply. After contemplating, she fell asleep without even realizing it.
That night, Julia had a dream. In her dream, she saw a little girl sitting in a child’s chair inside a car, holding a Little Jade Statue in her hand.
She said to the woman sitting in front, “Mom, can I give the Little Jade Statue to someone else?” The woman turned around and smiled gently, “You want to give it to ‘him,‘ don’t you?” “Yeah!” The little girl nodded eagerly, “Today is Valentine’s Day. You and Daddy have gifts for each other. I want to give something to someone too!”
The excitement in her voice was evident, and even her mother found her so adorable. “After thinking a lot, I want to give him my favorite Little Jade Statue. But you gave it to me, Mommy, so…” The little girl didn’t finish talking while doing ‘puppy eyes‘ for her mom.
Her mom laughed sweetly and said, “It’s okay. I’ve already given it to you, and it’s yours. You can decide who you want to give it.”
Hearing the woman’s words, the little girl’s face lit

The scene changed swiftly. This time, it was the little girl with a boy. The little girl smiled at him, who she had been thinking about. She cleverly sat on his lap and put the Little Jade Statue around his neck.
She said, “This is something very special to me. Since it’s Valentine’s Day, I want to give it to you. When we’re older, I want to be your wife. Promise me that you’ll remember to marry me. Okay?”
Both parents chuckled.
“Our Juju is so innocent. Please don’t mind her words,” the little girl’s parents said.
“What’s the harm? Juju is quite clever. She’s already planning her future at such a young age. Should we arrange a wedding for them?”
The voice of that person talking got further and further away until the dream became blurry, and Julia woke up from her mystery dream.
Julia massaged her throbbing temple. She murmured a peculiar yet familiar name.
“Juju. Could she be the original owner of the Little Jade Statue?” Julia struggled to recollect what her dream was about.
While the dream’s events were still vivid, the faces within it remained hazy. Whether it’s the softly–spoken woman or the boy Juju wanted to marry.
Suddenly, something hit her. Now the Little Jade Statue is with Jared, and if her dream was something real, does that mean that the boy in the dream is Jared?
Analyzing entangled relations, logic, and facts, Julia fell into a dead end. She just can’t see how it was possible, but she also can’t explain why Jared has it. Then, there’s another mystery; how could Julia know about it? Was she that little girl they call Juju in her dream?
Julia continued to try hard to recall this dream, and she vaguely remembered that there seemed to be someone sitting beside the little girl. Whether this child is male or female is too vague to

determine.
Since her dream could be something that happened in the past and she witnessed it, she could be the girl sitting next to Juju. Besides that, she couldn’t think of any other logical reason for seeing that scenario.
But every time Julia tried to think deeper, her mind felt like it was being crushed by a heavy object. It only gave her more headaches, so she stopped forcing herself.
Julia looked at the Little Jade Statue on her neck. Her earlier decision was correct. She should immediately hand over this Little Jade Statue to the Alliance. She should wear it for a while to see if she can find any new clues.
So she sighed deeply and put her thoughts aside for now. Then, she turned her head to check the space next to her.
Yesterday, when she was sleepy, she sensed a man coming in and lying beside her as usual. She had become accustomed to Jared being in the same bed as hers, so she didn’t react much and just went to sleep.
Now that she woke up early and the bed was empty, she thought Jared must have gone to the study room. So Julia just quickly freshened up and went out.
As soon as she stepped out, she saw Cameron emerging from Jared’s study in disheveled clothes. She seemed flustered as if Jared and she did something vulgar.
