Chapter 133: Forced To Sign An Agreement
“You don’t want anything else?” His words caught her off guard. She eyed the little jade statue on his neck, bit her lower lip, and closed her eyes. Julia wanted nothing else but the necklace.
She parted her lips and waited for him. Jared gulped a lump in his throat after seeing Julia’s obedient and docile appearance in his arms.
With her lips parted, Julia seemed to be seducing him to indulge in a heated session. If he let such an opportunity pass, would he still be able to call himself a man? A tasty delicacy was right in front of him, waiting to be devoured.
Jared leaned closer, little by little. Half–lidded eyes stared into Julia’s face, anticipating her
reaction.

After a while, their lips met for a soft and passionate kiss. Jared didn’t hold back as he took control of their kiss, not leaving any room for them to catch some air.
Ten minutes later, Julia pushed Jared’s shoulder feebly. Jared soon realized Julia was short of breath, so he reluctantly released her.
Julia rubbed her mouth with her hand before glancing at Jared. She just treated her like sweet candy! Julia thought that if Jared’s mouth were bigger, she would have been swallowed by now. After the kiss, her lips were swollen and had a faint smell of blood.
“Were you a starving vampire in your past life?” Julia hissed. “Well, I am.” Jared agreed as he stared at his masterpiece in satisfaction.
Julia was left speechless by Jared’s comment. She tried to push his chest away, but Jared immediately caught her hand.
“Do you still want to continue? Or perhaps do something else?” Jared asked as he guided Julia’s palm against his chest.
When Julia felt his firm chest, she felt agitated suddenly. She curled her fingers and stared at the pendant. “I did my part, now give it to me.”
Julia wouldn’t have to resort to such a huge sacrifice if it wasn’t for the necklace.
During their little acts in the past, their kisses and hugs would have no meaning. But the kiss they shared a moment ago was different. Julia felt as if she was going to be eaten.
“Alright,” Jared broke the silence, took off the necklace, and handed it to Julia. She happily held the necklace and gently stroked the precious pendant.
Jared squinted his eyes as he watched Julia’s movements without blinking. Julia hung the necklace around her neck and continued touching it. “It’s getting late. I’ll go back first.”
After achieving her goal, Julia had no reason to remain in the room. She turned her heels to leave and walked halfway out when Jared suddenly grabbed her wrist.
Julia faced him suspiciously, but Jared spoke before she could even ask. “You can have it for one night.”
“What?” Julia’s pupils dilated. He glared at Jared, feeling betrayed. “Are you fooling me?”
Displeased, she couldn’t believe that after all that effort, she was only allowed to wear the little jade statue for one night.
“Don’t be mad; I didn’t mean to trick you. It’s just that it belonged to my friend,” Jared confessed. Julia was surprised at the revelation. Intrigued, she hurriedly asked him, “Friend? You know the

owner of this necklace?”
Julia had no idea what her connection was with the pendant. But after wearing it for the first time, she felt as if it belonged to her in the first place.
“The original owner passed away,” Jared said. He carefully observed Julia’s reaction to her statement, curious why she seemed invested in the story.
“Passed away?!” Julia cried out in shock. “Who was it?” she asked again.
Seeing her eagerness, Jared thought twice about what to say next. Why would Julia be so interested to know about the owner? Could it be that their families had a connection?
Jared doubted it. If there were indeed a connection, there would be information about it in the materials that Joseph had investigated.
What could be Julia’s purpose for asking about the necklace?
“Do you know who the owner is?” Jared asked her. Julia panicked inwardly. She got too excited, which aroused Jared’s suspicion.
“I was just curious how you knew each other!” Jared squinted his eyes. He doubted it was the real reason, but he shrugged it off.
“I won’t answer since it’s a random question. The owner is gone. I don’t want to talk about it again.” Jared flatly said.
Julia was anxious, but she tried to hide it. Jared wasn’t going to answer any more questions. Although the pendant was in her hands now, she had no choice but to leave the room clueless. With her current status, it was only a matter of time before Jared realized her real intentions. “If that’s the case, I won’t ask anymore,” Julia exclaimed, pretending to lose interest. “I’ll go back to sleep,” she added.
She was about to step away when Jared spoke. “Wait a moment.”
‘What now?‘ Julia’s patience was about to run out, and Jared noticed it. He expected a woman like Julia would leave everything once she achieved her goal. He couldn’t let her wear the necklace just like that, for she might leave with it.
“You can wear that all the time if you want.” Julia’s eyes lit up for a few seconds, then faded. “Any conditions?”
Jared knew she would ask that question. Julia was quick–witted, which was why he got attracted to
her.
“I will let you wear it all the time. But you must promise me you’ll stay here for three years.” ‘Three years?! Is this man trying to tie me here?! Julia thought. She lowered her eyes and thought deeply about Jared’s condition. She held the pendant closely before looking back at him. After a minute of silence, Julia finally decided. “One year. Let’s talk about the rest after one year.” It was her limit. She was afraid that she wouldn’t be able to bear it if she stayed there for too long. It wasn’t because of the place nor how Jared treated her; he treated her undeniably special. Julia was afraid she would be unable to leave for the rest of her life.
‘One year is too short,‘ Jared thought as he took a deep breath. “Alright, we need to sign a
contract.”
Jared took out a pen and paper from the drawer without wasting a second. He wrote down the agreement that Julia would stay there and not leave for one year.

“Let’s sign,” Jared offered the pen to Julia. She accepted it without protesting before glancing at the agreement.
She signed her name and finally turned to leave.
Jared picked up the pen and added two zeros after one. He raised the paper, and his lips curled into a smirk, satisfied with what he did.
On the other hand, Julia felt strange, which made her stop in her tracks. “Huh?” She turned to look at the door she had just closed a few seconds ago.
“It says one year, right? Surely he wouldn’t trick me again, would he?” Julia tilted her head to the side. ‘Although he’s capable of that, he wouldn’t do that. Right?‘ Julia asked herself before shrugging.
‘Maybe I think too much. While lost in her thoughts, she felt a cold hand reaching her shoulder.
