Chapter 126: Street Fight
Before Julia could even react, a shrill, ear–piercing voice sliced through the air.
“Julia, you’ve actually stolen my man!”
At this evil accusation, Julia turned her head and found herself face–to–face with Karla. A hint of surprise flickered in her widened
eyes.
Her brother’s ex–girlfriend, the superficial woman who had tossed her brother aside, was now sleeping with Paul purely for financial gain.
A couple of dim–witted fans lurking nearby hastily whipped out their phones, snapping photos with frenzy.
No trouble stirred, no one hurt! Julia really did seem like the sort who’d swipe someone else’s hubby. And now, the rightful owner had waltzed onto the scene, ready to serve up a thrilling spectacle of the legitimate partner tearing the mistress apart.
“Karla, is that really you? Who’d have thought that you, lured by money, would end up with someone like Paul? Your taste truly knows no bounds!” Julia shot Karla a smirk.
The undertone of sarcasm in Julia’s voice was crystal clear. After all, Karla’s ex, Conrad, had been quite the campus heartthrob in their university days, and now he was the CEO of J&C Limited. While J&C Limited might not match up to Paul’s AR Corporation’s current clout, the gulf between Paul and Conrad was like the difference between night and day.
Hard not to be sarcastic, right?
But so what? A woman still had to find a powerful man. At the very least, Paul’s net worth trumped Conrad’s.
After thinking this through, Karla felt a bit better in her heart.
However, at present, she had finally gotten her hands on a big fish, yet Julia was trying to snatch him away from her.
Worse, she’d heard Paul’s words loud and clear moments ago. He wanted to marry Julia. Not once did he mention the same thing about Karla.
That was something Karla couldn’t stomach!
“Julia, you shameless bitch! I’m with Mr. Andrew now, and you’re still trying to seduce him?”
Julia arched an eyebrow slightly and met Karla’s gaze with calm composure. “Which of your eyes witnessed me trying to seduce him? He was the one shamelessly insisting on marrying me. Shouldn’t you hold yourself accountable for not being able to keep a grip on this man?”
“You, you, you-” Karla’s rage was so palpable that her features twisted into a grotesque mask. She pointed at Julia’s hand, trembling incessantly, her whole demeanor resembling a cannibalistic expression.
Maddie was on the brink of bursting into laughter. Julia was truly wicked, but it was quite satisfying to watch Karla’s face twist in anger.
Maddie never hesitated to speak her mind, “Serves her right.” She was aware of what happened between Karla and Conrad, and people like Karla disgusted her to the bone.
Karla was practically a powder keg ready to explode. She shoved Maddie, causing her to stagger back a couple of steps.
Swiftly, Julia caught Maddie’s fall and helped her get steady. “Are you okay?”
“I’m good, I’m good,” Maddie assured, instinctively placing a hand over her lower abdomen. Julia’s brows knit, her expression darkening suddenly. In the next breath, her hand connected with Karla’s cheek.
Smack!
swung and
Julia’s strike held considerable force, leaving half of Karla’s face swelling immediately.
The two oblivious fans seized the moment, capturing and disseminating the scene online, resulting in an avalanche of curses.
[Oh my god! I’ve seen mistresses acting haughty, but I’ve never seen one daring to slap the rightful wife right on the street. Is she really that audacious?]
[Damn it, my worldview has been completely shattered. Women like her should be dumped in some shady joint where she can indulge her inclinations, right? Unalive this bitch!]
[Where’s this at? I’m heading over to choke this mistress!]
Jared’s grip on his phone tightened, making a creaking sound. His gaze grew frigid.
He shifted his attention to Henry. “Sir, try to keep your composure. Your phone’s on the verge of giving out.”
Jared pressed his lips together, his eyes cooling as he glanced at Henry. “How much longer till
we’re there?”
“We’re nearly there. We’re already pushing the speed limit.”
Jared set his phone down, closed his eyes, and worked to steady himself forcibly. He was afraid that his agitation might make him blurt out to the whole world that Julia belonged to him. But doing that wouldn’t please her at all.
Karla reached her boiling point. Her hand shot up, poised to slap Julia in retaliation.
However, just as her hand descended, Paul seized her wrist.
“That’s enough. Stop making a scene.”
‘What?!‘
Karla’s eyes widened as she turned her gaze to Paul. Impatience was etched on Paul’s face, a far cry from how he used to treat her.
In the past, he’d shower her with special treatment. He’d often wrap his arms around her, no matter the occasion. His plump fingers would roam over her body, playful pinches and touches accompanied by sweet words to keep her delighted.
Yet now, his behavior was puzzling, distant in a way she couldn’t quite grasp.
‘Why?‘
“This was all because of Julia!”
Arriving at this conclusion, all Karla wanted was to rip Julia’s cunning face to shreds.
“Mr. Andrew, you promised me a lifetime of care,” Karla whimpered, her eyes red, assuming an air of misery and victimhood.
‘How repulsive!‘
Julia shook her head. “Karla, I’m grateful you dumped my brother. He’d probably question his eyesight if he saw you in this state. You accused me of seducing him, but have you taken a good look at yourself in the mirror? I mean, your present appearance. Are you any different from the

gals in those entertainment clubs?”
Finally releasing her pent–up feelings, Karla exploded.
“Julia! You bitch! I’ll end you!”
Karla flexed her well–manicured nails, aiming to rake them across Julia’s face.
Unfazed, Julia neither dodged nor flinched. She coolly maneuvered her leg and quickly kicked Karla’s knee.
Pain tore through Karla, and she lost her footing, collapsing in a truly undignified pose.
When she raised her head, her face was smeared with blood, especially around her nose. Once defined, the bridge of her nose was now skewed to the side, resembling the aftermath of a brutal
car crash.
It was a jarring sight.
“Mr. Andrew, she’s attacking me!” Karla’s wails reverberated, tears and mucus mingling on her face, a sight deterring people from approaching.
Even Julia and the onlookers found it repulsive. Paul shared their sentiment, shifting his gaze away from Karla and onto Julia. Her naturally captivating visage, untouched by plastic surgery, was more attractive to his taste.
“Miss Watson, what’s your take on my earlier proposition? If you give me the nod now, I’ll arrange a wedding date,” Paul said, tinged with determination.
Just as Paul’s words hung in the air, a deep voice abruptly resonated from behind.
“She won’t be considering any of your proposals.”
The voice carried an icy undertone that sent shivers skittering down spines, hair standing on end. Julia’s pupils lit up, her gaze locked onto Jared as he strode resolutely toward her. “Why are you here? Aren’t you supposed to be at the office?”
Jared showed her his phone, displaying her photos with Paul on the screen.
“As your man, how could I not show up in a situation like this?”
Julia took the phone from Jared, swiping through the pictures, each one chronicling the recent
events.
Someone had secretly been snapping photos of her!
She looked around vigilantly, trying to spot anyone suspicious.
The two brainless fans quickly lowered their phones, feigning disinterest, their hearts racing. Uh–oh, they’d been caught!
