Chapter 89: Mae, Do You Really Not Want Me?
In the end, the driver had no choice but to leave for the time being.
Mark sat in the car, the warm air in the car making him drowsy.
He leaned against the back of the seat and closed his eyes slightly.
“Save… save… Mark, save me.”
“Save… save me…”
“Mr. Smith, Mrs. Smith lost her footing and fell into the water.”
His ears were filled with screeching voices accompanied by all kinds of screams.
“Mark, I’m so scared.”
“How come it’s you? Where’s Mae?”
Suddenly a sharp pain broke into Mark’s heart, hurting him so much that he suddenly suffocated.
“Mr. Smith, Mrs. Smith is over there.”
In the cold, bone–shattering seawater, Mae’s entire body sank and completely disappeared…
“Mae!!!”
Mark awoke from his sleep, and that tearing, sharp pain in his dream was still in his heart at this moment. A thick cold sweat was seeping out from his forehead.
His hands, still resting on the steering wheel, trembled slightly.
He was having a dream, a strange but unusually realistic dream.
In it, Mae died before his eyes in the middle of the seawater.
How could he have such a horrible dream?
At that moment, it was as if he was still in a dream. His head was dizzy, and he couldn’t tell if he it was reality, er he was still sleeping.
He raised his hand and pressed on his heart, but the sharp pain did not subside as if everything had just really happened.
His head was hurting ached and swollen.
At that moment he couldn’t wait to see Mae, to see her alive and standing in front of him as if that was the only way he could be sure that this was a dream, a dream that didn’t exist, and that everything that happened in it was not real.
He started the car and pressed down the accelerator. The Maybach drove all the way to the neighborhood where Mae was.
The temperature inside the car seemed to be still rising. Mark annoyedly tugged at his tie and felt

The temperature inside the car seemed to be still rising. Mark annoyedly tugged at his tie and felt

that the car seemed to be driving extra slowly. He kept stepping on the gas pedal.
His head was getting heavier and heavier, and his vision also began to blur.
Outside the window, snow was falling faster and faster, blocking his already blurred vision.
He opened the wiper, and the next second, the wheels suddenly skid against the road. He suddenly lost control of the speed of the vehicle. He woke up and tried to move the steering wheel, but the road was slippery, making it difficult for him to control it.
Bang!
The car crashed into the road with a violent sound. The windshield immediately shattered, and debris splattered everywhere.
The siren of the car’s impact was loud and clear.
In this kind of weather and at this time of day, there weren’t many people on the road. Mark slumped over the steering wheel. His forehead seemed to have been ripped open by something, and it hurt like hell.
Thick liquid with a faint smell of blood ran down the corner of his forehead.
His consciousness began to blur. His head was sinking so low that all he could do was lean hard against the steering wheel as dizziness hit him hard.
As his consciousness receded, he saw Mae again.
She looked at him with desperate eyes and then disappeared into the sea, never to be seen again.
“Mae! Mae!”
She heard his heartbreaking cries, but she never came back.
“Mae!!!”
He woke up from the car. The temperature inside was making his consciousness sink further and
further.
He quickly unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car. The cold air that hit him was soaking into every pore of his body and making his originally blurred consciousness sharply awake as well.
He threw himself out of the vehicle and stumbled forward on his feet. The sticky liquid was dripping
onto the snow, turning the white into bright red accented by the color of blood.
Mae rubbed the back of her swollen neck as she came out of the study and looked out the car window, the moonlight illuminating the white snow.
She picked up her footsteps and walked to her daughter’s room. Even though the heat was on all over the house, she was still worried that her daughter would catch a cold.
She had just tucked her daughter in her kicked–off quilt when suddenly the doorbell rang.
“Who would come this late?”
Mae frowned and whispered, but the doorbell did not stop ringing. It grew more urgent
Her heart could not help but feel irritated while accelerating her steps toward the front door

As she reached out to open it, the “bloody man” in front of her eyes startled Mae, but she soon realized who the person in front of her was.
“Mark?”
Her voice involuntarily rose a few notches, and there was uncontrollable shock deep in her eyes.
“What’s wrong with you?”
Mark’s appearance at that moment was pathetic and shocking. His face was covered in blood and his clothes were stained with various blood stains.
She didn’t know how Mark managed to pass the security guard’s inspection and enter the neighborhood with this appearance, and at the moment, she couldn’t be bothered to ask any more
questions.
Mark’s body was shaking slightly, but the moment he heard Mae’s voice, his heavy eyelids fluttered open, and a bright light flashed across the bottom of his dark eyes.
“Mae…”
Suddenly, Mark’s body violently staggered a few times, and his tall frame almost fell to the ground.
Mae unconsciously reached out to pull him back, but she saw him propping both of his hands on the door frame, blocking her shocked face in the shadows.
Those eyes, always cold and biting in the past, now looked at Mae with silent aggression and accusation, and in the next second, Mae heard him speak:
“Don’t you care about me?”
Mae: “???”
“Do you really not want me?”
Maybe it was because he had drunk too much wine, or maybe it was because he had been walking in the cold wind for too long with that wretched appearance, but Mark’s voice was extraordinarily hoarse, and when he said it, he was hurt like a child who had been abandoned by the whole world.
Mae didn’t know what had happened to Mark and why he was suddenly running over to ask her these inexplicable questions.
“You’re hurt. You should go to the hospital first.”
Mae didn’t answer Mark’s question directly. As she looked at him in this state, a touch of strange emotion surged in her heart.
But at that moment, Mark was like a stubborn child. He just didn’t move, and his staggering figure seemed as if he was going to fall at any moment, but his mouth was still stubbornly repeating:
“Do you really not want me? Why don’t you come to see me? Why do you leave like this without waiting for me?”
Mae listened in confusion. Mark was a bit incoherent, but she also felt that at that moment Mark looked like he was trapped babbling in a world she didn’t know.
Why did she leave without waiting for him?
She didn’t understand and didn’t have the heart to understand. She just coldly said, “Stop talking and
just go to the hospital.”
Chapter 89 Mae. Do You Really Not Want Me?
After saying that, she tugged on his arm and took him toward the elevator entrance. Mark didn’t resist, or rather he didn’t have the strength to resist, so he was easily pulled forward by Mae.
His consciousness was sometimes clear, and sometimes fuzzy. The only thing on his mind was to see Mae, to see her standing before him alive.
At that moment when he felt Mae’s existence, the string that had been tightly stretching his brain suddenly loosened. The sharp pain that tore through his forehead got more intense each second.
The elevator door opened, he drowsily followed Mae’s back and walked into the elevator. His eyes were staring at her for a while, and in the next second his eyes went black, and he planted himself down.
