Chapter 64 An acquaintance
“Are you familiar with Aaron Foster?”
He couldn’t help but speak, Mae gave him a light look, “Yes.”
“When did you meet?”
He couldn’t help but ask again, and there was a sour taste in his tone that he didn’t even notice.
She did not answer, but just looked at him and frowned. “It’s really none of your business.”
In a word, Mark’s anger that he had managed to suppress once again ignited, “Mae Lee, we haven’t divorced yet!”
Involuntarily, he thought of the photos on Facebook, and his heart couldn’t help but feel sour
Facing his words, Mae only replied indifferently, “Then go through the formalities tomorrow.”
She didn’t care, she didn’t have the slightest bit of panic, or wanted to defend herself.
Mark was annoyed, but when he met her attitude, all his anger was like a fist on cotton, and it was useless.
He gritted his teeth and said, “I shouldn’t have come here.”
With those words, he angrily walked away.
Mae did not look back, but sarcastically pursed her lips and walked towards the elevator.
She didn’t even know why Mark wanted to come here. After thinking about it, the only reason that could come to mind was that he took advantage of her injury to come specifically to harass her.
In the next two days, apart from Jean and Henry, no one saw Mae again. After the Lee family was beaten by her, they stopped temporarily.
Mae’s injuries were almost healed after a few days in the hospital, but it was still relatively inconvenient to move around.
In the past few days, she had spent most of her time in Beyond Technology’s laboratory, while Sandra was handed over to the nanny to take care of her.
“Mae.”
When she came out of the laboratory, it was a little late. Just as she was about to leave, she was stopped by Aaron.
“Mr. Foster.”
Mae smiled and greeted him.
Aaron smiled and approached her. Today, he was still dressed in a casual outfit with a white high collar and gold glasses on his face.
Seeing him rubbing his eyebrows, he said, “We’ve both worked together for a while. Wouldn’t it be too unfamiliar for you to call me Mr Foster again?”
Mae: “Uhm…”
“I’ve already called you by your name. Can’t you do the same for me?”

Aaron half–jokingly and half–seriously, his warm gaze fell on her face.
“Okay, Aaron.”
She nodded in response, but the change made her a little unaccustomed to calling out his name. Aaron nodded in satisfaction, raised his hand to look at his watch, and continued,
“There are still seven hours to the New Year. Do you mind celebrating the New Year with me?”
Hearing this, Mae was stunned for a moment. Then she remembered that tomorrow would be New Year’s Day. Thinking of this day, Mae’s heart couldn’t help but be in a trance.
“I’m sorry, my daughter is waiting for me at home. I don’t like New Year’s Eve very much.”
She smiled and refused. Although she was polite, Aaron could still hear the toughness in her words. He couldn’t help but be stunned for a moment.
However, he did not force it, “It’s alright, we’ll make an appointment next time.”
“Mmm.”
Mae nodded, “I’ll leave first.”
The car she called had already arrived. She waved to Aaron and got in the car to leave.
He stood there, his shrewd eyes narrowed into a line, and he whispered softly.
“She seems sad this day?”
In the special car, the smile on Mae’s face had long since faded.
On the first day of the new year in her previous life, she listened to Mark’s words and aborted their child, her only child in her previous life. This day, she would never forget this day, and it was also a pain that could never be erased from her memory.
She tried to forget, tried to tell herself that in this life, she had protected Sandra and her daughter had stayed by her side. However, those unbearable memories still attacked her heart mercilessly, in Excruciating pain.
When she got home, the nanny, Auntie Melissa, was telling the little guy a story. The stories were all things she had never heard of before. Auntie Melissa said that she had made up when she was young and told them to the host’s children.
She had met Auntie Melissa four years ago, and Auntie Melissa had also brought up Sandra. She had just arrived in Sofitel City yesterday.
Auntie Melissa was a very mysterious person. Judging from her words and deeds, it seemed that she had received a special education in etiquette from a prestigious family. However, in some respects, she was different from a lady from a prestigious family. In short, it was just one word, strange.
Just like the eccentric old men who had rescued her, she was weird and mysterious.
“Mommy~~”
As Mae thought about it, little Sandra saw her standing at the door and immediately flew over.
The wound that hadn’t healed yet was hit by the little girl.
“Have you been naughty with Grandma Melissa today?”

“Not at all.”
The little girl’s head tilted arrogantly. “Grandma Melissa even taught me to practice calligraphy. She is much gentler than Teacher.”
Auntie Mellisa’s soft and glutinous voice praised her fiercely. When she heard it, Auntie smiled and her black hair that was meticulously combed seemed to be floating.
Mae went upstairs and changed into a casual outfit. Auntie Melissa had already prepared dinner.
After dinner, there was the sound of fireworks lighting up outside. Auntie Melissa said, “I heard that many young people are going to New Year’s Eve today. You also go out to find your good friend to play. Don’t stay at home all the time.”
Mae smiled, shook her head and refused, “I like to stay at home and spend New Year’s Eve with you guys. It’s all good.”
As if she had guessed that Mae would refuse, Auntie Melissa looked at her thoughtfully and finally couldn’t help but ask,
“Mae, do you really hate New Year’s Day? Why do I think that every time you bring up this day, your mood is very bad?”
It was like this for the past four years. She felt that Mae had a very important thing on her mind and did not ask. Today, she still couldn’t help but ask.
The corner of Mae’s mouth froze slightly. Then, he casually shook his head and said,
“No, I just think that there are too many people going out for New Year’s Eve. It’s too noisy.”
After helping Auntie Melissa clean up the kitchen together, little Sandra pestered Auntie Melissa to continue telling her magical stories, while Mae went to the study.
