Chapter 20
The word “little lover” once again touched Mark’s sullen nerves.
“Mae, we don’t need to involve anyone who doesn’t matter in the matter between us.”
Mark restrained his anger and spoke with only a little patience.
And what he said, in Mae’s ears, was understood to mean that he was protecting Jennifer, and did not want the “innocent” Jennifer to be involved in the unpleasant quarrel between the two.
She still looked at him with a smile and said, “Okay. I don’t know what Mr Mark wants me for, but to receive Mr Mark’s 10 billion, I’m willing to listen.
Her smile was always polite and decent, and she didn’t even say anything excessive, but every word that fell on Mark’s ears was extremely harsh.
He didn’t know where she had been or what she had experienced in the past few years. She had been such an innocent and ignorant woman, but when she came back, he felt like a different person. The same human skin mask.
Mae was cold at the moment.
When she saw Mark staring at her without a word, she was annoyed. Gradually, the expression on her face became impatient.
“If Mr Mark hasn’t decided what to say, then I won’t stand on ceremony.”
With that, she turned around and left.
In the next second, her body was pulled back by a powerful force. Mae was unable to dodge and
almost fell.
Shit!
Mae Lee couldn’t help but let out foul language in her heart. The originally dull eyes were dyed with
anger.
Those already charming eyes were too seductive because of the red at the end of them.
At that moment, Mark’s calm heart, which had been calm for a long time, suddenly felt like a strange mess, even though he had hidden this mess perfectly on the surface.
However, the strength in his hand suddenly increased a little, as if he were afraid that Mae would leave without a sound like four years ago. He frowned.
He looked down and his gaze landed on his well–knotted sleeve.
The cuff of the delicate suit revealed a delicate wrist, powerful, like its owner, tough and overbearing.
“Where have you been in the past four years?”
Mark spoke and returned to his calm tone, just like Mae’s impression, cool, indifferent, and without ups and downs.
She lowered her eyebrows and let out a chuckle. Her beautiful fingertips lazily brushed the hair from her forehead behind her ear, and looked at Mark with a puzzled but calm gaze.
“When did it become a rule? Does a divorced ex–wife need to report her itinerary to her ex–husband?”

There was still a smile on her lips, but the look in his eyes was so calm that he could not see the slightest emotion from the bottom of her eyes.
She was not even angry; she was as cold as a stranger she didn’t know.
He tried to find the slightest bit of affection in her indifferent eyes when she looked at him, but he found that the kind of look he once had at his fingertips, no matter how hard he tried, was nowhere to be found. This kind of reasoning caused Mark to frown subconsciously; some were faintly dissatisfied, and some subconsciously rejected this kind of reasoning.
