She did not want to involve the innocent Jean in the dispute between her and Mark.
She grabbed Jean’s hand and prevented her from moving forward.
“If Mr Smith doesn’t want his little lover to suffer in front of me, then he should control her next time. Don’t come to me and be mean.”
The word “little lover” made Mark’s eyes flash with fire, causing him to ignore Mae’s other words.
“Mae, don’t challenge my temper.”
Mark’s cold voice was full of anger.
The originally noisy press conference was now filled with tension.
