Chapter 151 Mae Lee, I regretted
But how could she explain what happened in her previous life?
Could it be because of her rebirth that everything had a butterfly effect?
“Really?”
Mae Lee nodded.
Mark’s face showed obvious joy. In the next second, Mae asked him, “Then can I go out now?”
Mark’s happy face suddenly stiffened, and his eyes darkened a lot.
Mae said that he believed him, but his attitude was very perfunctory.
“Since you believe me, can we get married again?”
Mark felt that it was not that difficult to utter this sentence again, but he knew that the more difficult thing has yet to come.
The hardest thing is how persuade Mae to agree to remarry.
He still remembered Mae’s cold and stern reaction when he summoned up the all his courage to ask her about remarrying on the phone that day.
This time, he asked her face to face, letting go of all his self–righteous pride and self–respect.
But Mae’s expression was very indifferent. His proposal to remarry her was like asking her for dinner, which made her uninterested.
“Mr. Smith, I remember I made it very clear that we can’t remarry.”
Her tone was calm, without the slightest fluctuation, calm and rational to the point of decision.
She could clearly feel the strength on her waist again.
“Didn’t you say you believed me?!”
Mark growled hoarsely; his eyes reddened by the alcohol.
The bottom of his eyes was scarlet, and the dense red streaks made his eyes even redder.
Mae looked at him calmly, probably remembering the first time the two of them met.
“Mark, don’t you understand? I’m really not interested in what relationship you have with Jennifer. Whether it’s a relationship or not, I don’t care. The problem between you and I have nothing to do with her.”
There was a gap in between them that was far wider than Jennifer’s. Whenever she thought that she had successfully jumped out of this gap, she realized that she had been trapped in this gap and
never came out.
“It was wrong for us to decide to get married. We belong to two worlds. Now it’s a good thing to divorce. We each return to our respective positions. Let’s not disturb each other anymore.”
Mae spoke to him in a very calm tone, as if she had returned to a calm and relaxed state after everything she had experienced.
However, Mae’s reaction right now made Mark panic even more.
He knew that this meant that she didn’t even want to hate him anymore.
He had been squeezed out of her heart forever, and she would not even give him the position of an enemy.
“No, I won’t agree. It’s impossible for us to return to our respective positions. There’s nothing wrong with our marriage. It’s just that there were some unnecessary misunderstandings. It’s enough to resolve the misunderstandings. Mae, there’s no problem between us!”
Mark’s tone of voice trembled slightly.
Especially the last sentence, he deliberately emphasized his tone, as if to convince Mae that there was really no problem between them.
Mae even saw that his eyes seemed to turn red again.
The grip on his waist was getting tighter and tighter. She felt as if her waist was about to be broken by him at any moment.
“I regretted it, Mae. I don’t want a divorce. I regretted all of it.”
“Mark, calm down.”
She frowned, feeling that Mark’s emotions were not right.
“Maé, I regretted it.”
He kept repeating this sentence, his eyes were already red.

In the next second, he suddenly hold his head and his complexion wasn’t looking good either. He appears experiencing something very painful.
“What’s the matter with you?”
“It’s alright.”
His voice was hoarse. He looked at Mae with scarlet eyes, and there was a trace of request in his eyes, “Give me another chance, let’s start over.”
Mae was at a loss for Mark’s suddenly humble attitude.

She found that she could not understand him more and more. What did he want?
Was that marriage more important to her, or was she more important to him?
Did he care about the marriage in name only, or truly cares about her?
If she didn’t have the memories of her previous life, perhaps at this moment, she would be ecstatic to think that Mark finally had her in his heart and that she had finally united with the love she wanted.
However, she had a previous life. Her previous life was full of unbearable and painful experience, and Mark was included on those unbearable memories.
No matter what kind of thoughts he had now, it was impossible for her to continue with him like a moth to the flame.
She looked at Mark and shook her head. Her eyes were firm and determined.
“No matter what are your reasons for asking me to remarry you, let me say this Mark, there’s really no chance for us.
She spoke very calmly, but that single sentence was enough to push Mark far away.
“What do I need to say or do to make you believe that I really don’t want to be with you anymore?”
Mae looked at him indifferently, her emotions were calm, and her tone did not fluctuate. “Do you need me to die?”
She asked this very calmly, but it caused Mark to tremble.
“No, I… I didn’t mean that, I…”
“That’s good, then please let me go.”
Her tone was still calm, but she did not know that her polite tone was like a gentle knife, stabbing Mark’s heart.
His eyes were red as he stared at her. The hand that was wrapped around her waist slowly loosened. He took two steps back and opened the distance from Mae.
“Thank you.”
Mae thanked him calmly as she withdrew from Mark’s embrace.
Mark stood against the wall and did not leave, his head hurts as if it was about to explode.
That door seemed to separate him and Mae in two worlds. He had completely lost her and could never be with her again.
All this time, he had been repeating the same dream.
On the sea in winter, the night wind was wrapped in a layer of frost, which was bone–chilling.
Someone told him that Mae had fallen into the sea, and he desperately jumped down to save her.
In the dream, he was wrapped in endless fear, like the pitch–black sea, hesitating and helpless. He was afraid that he would not be able to save her in time, and that she would leave him forever.
Finally, he thought that he had rescued Mae, but what he saw was Jennifer’s face.
