Chapter 122: The Mastermind Behind the Scenes
Mae was holding Little Jane. She and Auntie Melissa went to the pick–up area to wait for Stan Moore. The mother and daughter had faces carved out of the same mold. As soon as they entered the airport, they immediately attracted the attention of most people.
Mae did not deliberately hide. She left the entertainment industry four years ago. The peak of her career has long been gone, and even if she was recognized, there was no worth writing about her.
Even so, just the two faces of the mother and daughter were enough to cause a commotion, and many people secretly took out cameras to take pictures of the mother and daughter.
Mae, on the other hand, held her child and waited quietly with Mrs. Jones at the pick–up point.
The little girl stared in the direction of the exit, looking forward to it, and her quirky appearance caused many people to stare at her uncontrollably.
A short time later, a tall man with a black backpack emerged from the exit.
The black sunglasses covered half of his face but could not hide the man’s handsome and perfect features, as well as the inherent nobility of his body.
There was a lanky smile on his face, and his eyes fell at the pickup point as if searching for something.
“Daddy Stan!”
The girl’s surprisingly soft voice reached the man’s ears, and his originally cynical face showed an uncontrollable color of joy as he raised his hand and waved it vigorously at the little girl.
His slender legs quickened their pace and walked toward her.
Arriving in front of Mae, Stan immediately took Little Jane from Mae’s hands and placed her on his own shoulders, patting her gently. “Wow! My little princess has gotten fat.”
As soon as the words were out of her mouth, the little girl hugged the man’s head dissatisfiedly. She opened her little mouth and nibbled fiercely on it, and said softly:
“Grandma Melissa said you can’t say girls are fat. When I get taller, I won’t be fat anymore.”
The timid dissatisfaction amused many people around them and caused them to laugh out loud. Stan hastily raised his hand to beg for forgiveness. “I’m wrong, my little princess. Daddy apologizes. to you. My little princess is the most beautiful, not fat at all.”
“Hmph!”
The little girl wrapped her arms around her chest… Her little head tilted to the side, looking at him. “This problem can’t be solved without ten lollipops.”
“Okay, Daddy is going to take Little Jane to buy lollipops and eat until all her teeth fall out. Haha-”
“You are so annoying!”
“Let’s go. I’ll take my little princess to buy candy.”
Stan held up the little one and ran quickly out of the airport, the picture looking cozy and dazzling.
Only after a few of them had completely left did the crowd withdraw their gazes somewhat uninterestedly. They were unable to help but sigh, this family of three really fits together perfectly.

Some people recognized Mae early on. But was the little girl, who looked exactly like Mae, her daughter with the handsome man who just came in?
But wasn’t she divorced from Mr. Smith of the Smith Corporation?

way
back to the house, the little one has already fallen asleep. When they got home, there was still a small bubble on the tip of her nose, but she held onto Stan and refused to let go.
It was only after putting her to bed and spending some more time with her that Stan managed to get
away.
“Here, your favorite coffee. I learned it myself to satisfy your taste.”
Auntie Melissa handed Stan the coffee and smiled.
“Thank you, Auntie Melissa. I knew you loved me the most.”
Stan took Auntie Melissa’s shoulder and gently accepted the coffee in his hand before walking over to the sofa and sitting down.
“Those old men kept telling me to bring you back as soon as possible. How are things going on your end?”
Stan took a sip of coffee and asked casually, seemingly in no hurry for Mae’s answer.
“The special drug is already in the clinical trial stage. It will take at least half a year.”
Actually, this special medicine was mainly for her to cure Little Jane’s illness, not to prepare it for the market. So, it was not necessary for the to wait for half a year.
However, she was borrowing the channels from Aaron’s side, so she couldn’t just care about herself and completely disregard the cost and energy he invested in this project.
In addition, although she wasn’t considered to be a very kind person, she also wanted to help those children who were suffering from the same disease as Little Jane. It was something she could empathize with as a mother.
Therefore, all three phases of the clinic had to be completed before it could be used….

He looked at Mae and asked, “Do you know a person named Peter Gray?”
Mae’s expression wavered, obviously a little surprised that Stan would mention his name at this
time. She nodded her head slightly. “Well, he is my best friend’s brother.”
Saying this, she paused for a moment and added, “That’s surprising. Are you saying… that the person who instructed those people behind the scenes was Peter?
From the beginning until now, Mae did not even think of Peter.

“Yes, it’s him.”
Stan replied, changing the direction of the conversation. “However, while I was investigating him, I found out that there’s another group of people investigating this.”
“Who is it?”
“I don’t know. The other party is very mysterious. Even I can’t track them down.”
Stan said truthfully, and at the same time, it made Mae feel surprised.
For someone who couldn’t even be traced by Stan, it seemed like the other party’s power and connections were something she couldn’t underestimate.
And why was the other party investigating Peter?

“Go ahead. Let Auntie Melissa cook more of your favorite dishes for dinner.”
Stan’s arrival made Mae’s originally quiet home a lot livelier. With him in it, her suppressed mood from the past few days lightened up.
“I think this boy, Stan, is quite compatible with you, and Little Jane likes him too. So, why don’t you consider him?”
After Stan entered the house, Auntie Melissa looked at Mae and joked.
Mae looked at her helplessly and said, “You, just like those old men, like to tease me with him. I’m divorced with a child, so don’t go harming other young people.”
“What is wrong with being divorced with a child? You are young and beautiful, and your skills are not comparable to other women. So, why are you feeling like a nuisance? Besides, our little Jane is so sweet and charming that Stan can’t wait to treat her as his own.
