Chapter 121: I Didn’t Know Mr. Smith Was So Reluctant to Let Me Go
But because Mae had divorced Mark, she was complacent and forgot what the essence of the
divorce was.
No, she must not allow Mae to return to the Smith family to take the seat that would soon be hers.
She glared at Mae viciously, but she was so angry she couldn’t say a word.
She hated Mae’s smug face, looking like she could still get the upper hand over her at every turn, even though she had clearly left Mark and the Smith family.
“That’s right.”
Mae handed the prescription to Jennifer again, and this time, even though she was reluctant inside, she took the prescription from Mae’s hand anyway.
“Then I won’t bother.”
After saying these words, she turned and left the hospital room.
Of course, she didn’t really think that Mark would agree to go back and marry her again after she had gone back on her words. She didn’t think that she had the ability to dictate to Mark what to do whenever she wanted to.
She was able to say that to Jennifer because she was convinced that she wouldn’t dare take the risk of playing with her.
After leaving the hospital room, she didn’t take more than a few steps before she met up with Mark, who was coming back from the hospital.
She noticed that Mark’s eyes seemed a little colder when he looked at her, and in those cold eyes, she saw some emotions that she couldn’t read at all.
Without having to ask, she knew he was probably looking at her in a bad light again somehow.
Luckily, the words she had just warned Jennifer not to say had not been heard by Mark, otherwise, this guy would have been able to make her face swell up in a matter of minutes.
“You’re leaving in such a hurry. Is it because you’re going to see your lover?”
Mark opened his mouth, a sarcastic cold smile on the corner of his lips, and his words carried a few hints of meanness that did not seem to come out of his mouth.
Mae froze for a moment and then thought about the phone call she had received earlier. She did not avoid Mark at that time. Was he analyzing his words earlier?
Why didn’t she know that Mark had the talent to be a screenwriter?
“Mr. Smith’s management is really outspread. Your lover is inside, and you don’t go to accompany her properly. Why do you care who I go to see?”
Mae in front of him, very casually rolled her eyes and did not have to explain to Mark the relationship between her and the person on the other end of the phone.
“You…”
Mark’s face was a few shades darker than it had been a moment ago, and when Mae took a step to walk away, he pulled her back.

She was unable to dodge, and the tip of her nose directly hit Mark’s chest. le
her eyes.
“Don’t associate me with irrelevant women.
Mark was furious. “Mae, you had a child with another man behind my back. What qualifications do you have to be so condescending and sarcastic in front of me?”
Mae’s nose was red from the blow and her eyes were teary. When she heard his words, she was even
more angry.
She raised her eyes and glared at Mark with anger in her eyes.
Seeing her tears and reddened eyes, Mark froze for a moment, and the anger that filled his chest was instantly replaced by guilt.
“You…”
“Yes, I didn’t know that Mr. Smith was so reluctant to give up on me that he wouldn’t even sign after four years.
Mae laughed with some casual arrogance. “If you had signed the divorce agreement sooner, you wouldn’t feel like you’re being cheated in our marriage, would you?”
As he spoke, Mae shrugged his shoulders. His face did not have half a marital point. Feeling weak and guilty, she said:
“Then what do you want to do? Are you going to tell everyone that Mr. Smith is being cheated on?”
The little bit of guilt that had just arisen in Mark’s heart was completely extinguished by Mae’s unconcerned demeanor.
She really did not care about anything and did not even bother to argue with him.
Maybe, in her heart, he wasn’t even worthy of giving her more time to explain anything.
“If there’s nothing else you want to say, I’ll leave first. Sorry, but I’m in a hurry.”
With a smile on her face, she struggled to pull herself out of Mark’s arms, the smile on her face never faded.
The smile on Mae’s face only disappeared as she stepped into the elevator, and Mark’s unlikeable face disappeared from her view as it slowly closed.
Mae went to the playground that she had arranged with Mrs. Jones. Her little one was playing on the merry–go–round and refused to come down until she saw Mae, and then she ran happily toward her.
“Mommy-”
“Did you have a good time?”
“I’m happy.”
The little girl answered sweetly. It was followed by holding her arms and sighing deeply like a small adult. “But there’s a lot of places I cannot play at. The administrator’s aunt said my height is not tall enough.”
Her pink and tender little mouth slightly pouted, showing a look of distress. “Mommy, when will I
grow tall enough to play those great games?”
“Yes, but you can’t be as fussy about your food as you are now, and you have to go to bed earlier every night so you can grow up fast.”
“But…”
Little Jane frowned, the look of distress on her face intensified. “But why should I eat things that are hard to eat? Aren’t there foods that are tasty and can make you grow taller?”
Mae: “…”
She had always known that this little one was very opinionated when she was one or two years old. She wouldn’t blindly obey what adults said and every time she would give her own opinions and
ideas.
Sometimes even Mae couldn’t stop her.
“Because some nutrients come from the things Little Jane doesn’t like to eat. If you’re picky about what you eat, some nutrients won’t be enough to make you tall.”
Mae patiently explained, using shallow words that the little one could easily understand, but fearing that she would pursue the matter to the end, she said hastily:
“Let’s do it this way. Let’s go to the airport to pick up Daddy Stan. If you have any questions, let him answer them for you, okay?”
Hearing Mae mention Stan, the little girl’s eyes immediately lit up. “Did Daddy Stan come to see me?”
“Yes. Let’s go pick him up now, okay?”
“Okay–Daddy Stan and I have a heart–to–heart. He must have felt my brain waves and knows that I
miss him.”
}
After saying that, the little girl put her two hands on her temples in a quirky way, sending brainwaves. It made Mae and Auntie Melissa unable to hold back their laughter.
On the way to the airport, Mae heard Auntie Melissa ask, “Why did Stan suddenly decide to look for you?”
Mae was driving when she heard her ask this. She lowered her eyes and thought for two seconds. She remembered the thing she had asked him to help investigate a few days ago. Maybe it was the reason why he came to meet them.
“It should be about the thing I asked him to help investigate before. He already has the results.” Auntie Melissa also knew the thing Mae was talking about. After hearing her words, she didn’t ask any more questions.
Sofitel City International Airport, pick–up gate.
At the airport at the end of the year, there were a lot of people coming and going. There were those who were going back to their hometowns, and there were also those who were going back to Sofitel City from abroad.
At the pick–up point, there was a line of young girls with banners, posters, bouquets, and so on, so there was no need to ask if they had come to pick up their idols.
