Chapter 75
After chatting with my mom for a bit, I left the hospital. As I was leaving, I texted my dad about our conversation. As soon as he read it, he called me up. super excited, “Rena, I’m telling you, I’ve been framed! I didn’t do anything. Your mom should cool off now!”
“Dad, we need to deal with those photos too,” I reminded him.
This wasn’t just about whether my mom would stay mad. If we couldn’t get the negatives of those photos, they might become a lethal weakness for my dad in the future. Even if he’s innocent, he can’t deny the existence of the photos.
“I know. I’m looking for a solution, my dad calmly replied.
“Don’t fret too much. We’ll figure something out.” After chatting a bit more, I hung up.
When I got back to Sterling Estates, it was dinner time. After a quick bite, I headed upstairs for a bath, hoping to unwind a bit.
Without realizing it, I fell asleep in the bathtub. If it wasn’t for the water turning cold, I might have continued snoozing.
Late at night, I couldn’t fall asleep. I put on my pajamas and went to the balcony. From there, I could see the front gate of the mansion. I used to love standing there, watching for Neil to come home.
Once the divorce papers come through, I’ll leave this place too.
For me, Sterling Estates carried too many painful memories. Living here after the divorce would be like torturing myself. I’d rather leave it to Neil, so every time he looked at it, he would think of me. Considering how cold he’s been towards me, he probably won’t be bothered by the memories.
I stood on the balcony for a while, until the cold wind became unbearable, then I went back to my room.
As I was tossing and turning, Stella called me up, cheerfully inviting me, “Rena, come on! It’s Christmas Eve and there are so many handsome boys out! I can’t even keep track!”
“I’m not coming. I just took a bath and I’m ready for bed,” I turned her down, because in this chilly weather, all I wanted was to stay in bed.
“Then come out tomorrow night. Cielo Nocturno is having a Christmas catwalk show with male models. They have amazing bodies. If you don’t come, you’ll regret it for life!” Stella exaggerated.
Unable to turn down her enthusiastic invitation again, I agreed, “Alright.”
On Christmas night, Stella was calling me like a maniac. Even while I was on my way, she was worried I might have an accident and not make it. Her messages flooded my phone.
At the entrance of Cielo Nocturno, there were two handsome men in Santa Claus costumes handing out Christmas presents. They held a beautiful box, and guests could draw gift vouchers before entering, which could be exchanged for corresponding gifts.
Stella got a lipstick, Alicia Rider got a perfume, Barbara Sands got a phone case. When it was my turn, I wanted to throw away the voucher as soon as I saw it.
“Durex… Condoms?” Stella grabbed the voucher and burst out laughing, “Hahahaha… Rena, go for it!”
Alicia and Barbara joined in the laughter.
I shot them a glare and stuffed the voucher into my coat pocket. I didn’t plan to redeem it. But Stella wouldn’t have it. She took out the voucher from my pocket, quickly redeemed a box of condoms, and stuffed it back into my pocket, laughing, “Why not? If you don’t use it, you can give it to me. I’m sure to find a handsome guy tonight.”
“Alright,” I generously agreed.
Cielo Nocturno was bustling that night, like all the city’s handsome guys and beautiful ladies had gathered there. Some were there to relax, some to find
romance.
Stella was dressed very se xy. Many people hit on her, but she didn’t find any of them attractive.
Alicia, on the other hand, was interested in a few men, but she always ended up scaring them away by discussing business plans.
Barbara was not interested in men at all.
Suddenly, Stella received a message. She then excitedly dragged me and Alicia upstairs, “I have a friend here. She says there are a few handsome guys upstairs. It’s worth dying for if we can catch a glimpse!”
The VIP room on the second floor was packed. There were already a dozen people.
When I saw Neil and Russel, I wanted to leave, but then I remembered I still hadn’t received the divorce papers, so I changed my mind.

Neil was looking at me. There was a woman sitting next to him, leaning on him, showing her affection.
He was wearing a black shirt, with a burgundy tie neatly tied at the collar, giving off a very manly vibe.
Too bad he’s a cold-hearted ba stard.
When Stella spoke, Neil’s face turned awful. His eyes were like sharp knives.
Russel was also there, but he wasn’t on Stella’s blacklist.
“What did you say?” Mitch was furious, “Who invited this woman?!”
Rhea shrank back, whispering, “I did…”

Stella confidently walked up to Mitch, patting his face, “We meet again. Didn’t get enough of being beaten last time? Want another round?
Mitch was a few years younger than her. He looked scared now. If it wasn’t for the beauties around, he would have called Cooper for help right away. “Alright, alright. We don’t really have a grudge. It’s rare for us to hang out together, let’s not fight.” Cooper tried to help Mitch defuse the situation. “Yeah, Stella, we were about to play “Truth or Dare’. Want to join?” Rhea quickly chimed in.
After all, she was the one who invited us.

Rhea and I weren’t exactly buddies, but she definitely knew Neil and I were hitched. She just didn’t expect to see me hanging with Stella today. I gave her the once-over. She was doing the same.
Stella shot me a look, asking if I wanted to be involved. After all, Neil was there too. If I wasn’t feeling it, she’d definitely bail with me. As far as Rhea was concerned, they were just casual buddies, but to me, Stella was like a blood sister.
“I’m in, I happily agreed.
“Alright then, let’s get this party started. Who can tell us the rules of the game??” Stella found us a place to sit, with Alicia and Barbara following suit. “Rules are easy peasy,” Rhea said, pointing at a bottle of booze and a row of shot glasses on the table. “Spin the dial. Whoever it lands on chooses ‘Truth’ or ‘Dare’, and the previous player calls the shots. If you back out, have a drink and admit defeat.”
The rules were simple, but also pretty thrilling.
Mitch was already chomping at the bit. There was a light-up spinner on the table with a silver pointer standing silently. Hit the button next to it and it starts spinning, then stops randomly.
Everyone was huddled around, eyes locked on the spinner.
