I always trusted Russel more, and this screenshot just made me more suspicious of Neil.
His performance last night was so good that I almost thought I was misinterpreting him.
“I get it.” I said, wanting to drop the subject after seeing the photo. I bit back my uneasiness and said it calmly
Russel was expressionless He put away his phone, Irene, I really dont want you to go back to Sterling Estates. Neil doesn’t deserve you.”
I rubbed my temples. The screenshot was still fresh in my mind. When I heard Russel speak, I was taken aback. Remembering my deal with Neil, I blurted out. I’ve decided to remarry him; I just haven’t set a date yet.”
I had to keep up the act. If everyone knew about my imminent remarriage to Neil, he wouldn’t suspect that I was just stringing him along.
Russels coffee cup fell onto the table with a crisp sound. He looked at me in disbelief, as if he were questioning why I would do this
“Why?” His emotions were in turmoil. He ignored the mess on the table, 1 just can’t understand why you’d give him another chance when he treats you so badly, yet you cant wait for me.”
“Russel, all you need to know is that I’m doing this for your own good.” I sighed, putting on a bitter smile, “Aren’t you engaged too? That’s nice.”

Russel reminded me of Neil from years ago. He was reluctantly marrying a woman he didn’t love because of family pressure.
But even if he didn’t get engaged to Chloe, there was no future for us Neil was like a madman, he wouldn’t just watch us be together.
I had confirmed what I needed to know, so there was no need to stay and make things more awkward. I got up to leave without responding to Russel. ‘Don’t go”
Russel grabbed my wrist. He was slumped on the sofa; his fair and well proportioned hand was holding me tightly, preventing me from leaving Suddenly, he seemed to notice something. He stood up abruptly and pulled up my sleeve. When he saw the bruise on my arm, his face turned serious. Russel, let go of me I panicked and tried to pull my hand back.
Russel’s grip tightened. I could tell by his eyes that he was about to lose control, and I quickly reminded him, “You’re about to get engaged to Chloe Your mother must be very happy. You can’t do anything inappropriate at this crucial moment”
Mentioning his mother did the trick Russel let go.
I quickly pulled down my sleeve. I never wanted Russel to find out about these love marks. I even wore a thick scarf around my neck to hide them.
Russel sat back down on the sofa. I didn’t dare look at him.

1… don’t know.” I shook my head. Neil had said that if I objected to his cooperation with StarGlow Enterprises, he would stop, but I didn’t insist.
I didn’t want to interfere too much with what he did or how he did it, as long as he fulfilled his promise to me.
Then, what Russel said next left me in a state of shock, I was still in a daze when I left the apartment.
I found my car, still looking like a soulless shell, and then I didn’t move again.
Russel’s voice echoed in my ears, “Gloria found Neil and told him that when Karina Aaron committed suicide due to her depression and desire for revenge, she was pregnant. So guess who the father of her child is?
So, Gloria proposed to cooperate with Neil on the foundation, and Neil didn’t refuse. I have no idea whether he really let go of Karina in his heart.”
I stared blankly ahead, it took a long time for my mood to settle down.
So Neil and Karina had a child, but he didn’t know about it before.
I had no idea how long I sat in the car. When I saw that it was getting dark, I drove back to Sterling Estates. On the way, I received a call from Alicia Rider, “Rena, come out for dinner. Sean is treating!”
“No, you guys go ahead” As soon as I opened my mouth, I found that my voice was very hoarse and tired.

I drove silently ( noticed that Sterling Estates was approaching, so I made a sharp stop at the side of the road, “I want a drink; i wait for you at the bar” After I hung up, I turned around and rushed to the bar.
I didn’t know if Neil had gone back. At this moment, my heart was filled with hatred and helplessness towards him.
When I got to the nearest bar, I found a spot, ordered a dozen drinks, and started drinking alone.
Drinking didn’t solve the problem. As I drank, I found myself crying. I couldn’t even clearly see the lights of the bar through my tears.
“Get me a private room” I grabbed a waiter as my eyes began to glaze over, “And send over the handsomest male models you got!”
I took a wad of cash out of my bag and placed it on the table
In minutes later, was sitting in a room surrounded by seven or eight male models. I put 500 dollars on the table, and whoever could make me laugh with a joke would get the money.
I tried to seek temporary joy and vent my sorrow in this crude and simple way.
When Stella called, I was already drunk, and all I wanted to do was cry.
“Hold on, I’m coming!” As soon as Stella heard me crying, she told me to wait for her.
I collapsed onto the sofa and one of the models kindly sat next to me, letting me use his thigh as a pillow.
About ten minutes had passed when the door to the private room swung open. I was lying on the male model’s lap. I was so exhausted from crying that I was even failing to open my eyes.
I felt someone approach me. I opened my mouth and said, “Stella, let’s have a drink. There are plenty of hot guys here; just your cup of tea.”
No sooner had I finished speaking than I felt the male model make a move to get up and push me off his lap.
A chill ran through me, so I shivered and shouted a bit fuzzily. “Why the hell is the AC on in this freezing weather?”
Silence fell all around. The previous noise and laughter were completely gone.
A hand lightly landed on my neck. It didn’t feel like a woman’s hand; it probably wasn’t Stella’s.
“Irene, you really never learn.” Neil’s low and icy voice whispered in my ear.
