“Neil, can you help me find Oscar? I didn’t have time to think about anything else. My first instinct was to ask Neil for help.

“He’s at his wit’s end thanks to Bonnie and is about to leave Rosemont Now I can’t reach him, which probably means he’s in trouble. This is a life-and-death matter! Do something good!” I grabbed Neil’s arm and said.
I genuinely cared for Oscar like a younger brother. If something really happened to him, I had to find a way to help.
Anger flashed in Neil’s eyes, “Why do you care about him so much?”
“Nothing happened between us, but he’s my friend. He genuinely cares for me, so it’s only natural that I care for him” I said quickly. The next second, I felt deflated, “Never mind, I’ll call the cops myself
I turned to leave
Neil muttered something under his breath, then quickly caught up with me, “Wright, alright. I’ll help you find him, okay?”
“Really?” I was somewhat delighted. If Neil was willing to help, we could surely find him faster.
“Ill let you know within two days, but I have one condition” Neil stared at me
I had already agreed to stay at Sterling Estates for a month, so one innre condition wouldn’t hurt. I nodded readily, “Shoot.”
“No matter what happens in the future, don’t give Russel another chance” Neil said firmly. He stared at me, waiting for my answer.
I had no intention of getting involved with Russel again, so despite feeling uncomfortable, I could accept Neil’s condition
After a few seconds of silence, I agreed, “Okay You’ll handle the stuff about my dad and finding Oscar. I’ll go to the office every day, but no matter how late, I’ll come back to Sterling Estates”
“Mhm” Neil replied, “Let’s head back.”
In the deep of the night, Neil drove me back to Sterling Estates. Ryan and Faith had already gone to bed. The villa was quiet, and we tacitly headed upstairs
Neil stopped me at the entrance of the master bedroom, “You’re sleeping here. I’ll take the quest room”
I silently entered the room and closed the door behind me
had lived at Sterling Estates for five years before, so even after two or three years, I quickly got used to the large bed and the familiar yet unfamiliar

That night, I had a nightmare about Oscar disappearing. In my dream, I looked for him for a long time, only to find him lying motionless in a terrifying place, no longer breathing.
When I woke up. I fell incredibly drained. The nightmare had taken a toll on me. As I stared at the sky outside, I felt a little dazed.
There was a knock on the door, and then I heard Neils voice, “Are you up?”
“Yeah, I’m getting up.”I quickly got out of bed, freshened up, changed, and swiftly applied some light makeup
By the time I opened the bedroom door, half an hour had passed, but Neil was still waiting for me.
I smiled at him, “You really didn’t have to wait for me”
“Aren’t you going to the office? I’ll drop you.” Neil glanced at his watch, “Let’s go. We’ll have breakfast downstairs.”
With that, he turned and went downstairs, and i silently followed him. In the dining area, I found Ryan and Faith already there. They smiled at me when they saw me

“Good morning, Irene.
Have a seat and enjoy your breakfast You look thinner than before Faith pushed a plate of hot bread towards me and asked the maid to warm up some milk for me.
Ryan, who was eating bread, also chimed in, “Yeah, you should eat more. It’s good for your digestion.”
I didn’t really have an appetite, but for the sake of my health, I tried to eat a bit.
Neil, sitting next to me grabbed an omelette from the table and started adding sah and pepper. I silently prayed that he wouldn’t give me anything else
to eat.
“You should have this. You need to replenish your proteins every day” As expected, Neil put the seasoned omelette in front of me
Ryan and Faith exchanged a glance, their eyes full of meaning

I nodded and ate the omelette.
After finishing the omelette, I realized it was just an appetizer. Neil also seemed surprised by the spread, “Are you raising pigs here?” He asked his mother, frowning.
Faith retorted, “Enough from you. Irene is our guest, and we should treat her well. Otherwise, people might think we’re stingy”
I looked at the lavish breakfast in front of me and felt a bit unsure.
Neil ignored his mother and said to me, “Eat whatever you want. If you can’t finish, just eat less.”
“Okay” I felt pressured by the Whitmore family’s hospitality and grew more worried. Would Ryan and Faith misunderstand and think I moved in because Neil and I were getting back together?
In my confusion, I ate a bit of this and that, then signaled to Neil that we could leave.
Today, I had to ask Bailey to bring my car over and pick me up from now on. After all, I couldnt rely on Neil to drop me off every day
“Neil, do you think your parents might have misunderstood something?” I asked once we were in the car.
“Nah, I’ve already told them. Plus, they’re heading back to Springvale this afternoon. Neil replied, keeping his eyes on the road.
Neil’s parents returning to Springvale was good news for me. At least it would save me some embarrassment next time I went back to Sterling Estates.
Neil’s response eased my worries a bit. I gazed out of the window in silence, my heart only fluttering slightly when I received Stella’s messages.
“OMG, Russel is getting engaged?!”
“They just announced their engagement!”
Stella continued, “I thought he was into you? How come he’s getting married so quickly?”
My brows twitched at the unexpected news as an indescribable feeling spread in my heart.
