Chapter 198
“I won’t give up, as long as you tell me that you’re not actually into Russel.” Neil’s eyes were filled with defiance.
I looked at him and asked, “Neil, when you gave me the cold shoulder, did you ever think that one day you might regret it?”
I had often imagined this scenario, where Neil finally realized that I was the one who loved him the most and that he had always had feelings for me, and if I were to leave, he would be filled with regret
Now, all of this had come true, and I was still here, hearing him say that he didn’t want me to leave him.
Neil was silent for a moment, showing the humblest side of him, and said, “I never expected that I would regret it. But now that I do, I can’t stand the thought of you being with someone else.”
“Neil, thank you for saying that, it’s satisfying my revenge.” I sat up and leaned against the headboard, smiling at Neil, “But there are so many things to regret in this world, I won’t give you another chance. From now on, I’m Russel’s girlfriend, so please stay away; I don’t want to cause him any trouble.”
Neil’s pride was already crushed under my foot, and yet I still stepped on it.
He looked at me with a strange look.
I met his gaze calmly, trying to clear my mind and make my eyes look calm.
“So you won’t care if I’m with Bonnie, right?” Neil whispered.
“Yeah, I’d wish you the best.” I replied. “As long as you can persuade her not to bother me. Also, this kidnapping thing, she planned it all; I won’t let that
slide.”
Neil let out a cold laugh, “Hah.”
I didn’t know what his laugh meant, but it made me feel uneasy.
Neil didn’t continue; he just took out a palm-sized notebook from his pocket, threw it on my bed, and left.
After he left, I picked up the little, delicate notebook. It had a lock on it, but it was already open.
The pages inside the notebook were a little yellowed, showing their age.
I opened the cover, and the first page was written in my handwriting ’99 Things to Do After Marrying Neil:
There was a small heart and a smiley face underneath
I suddenly remembered that this was the notebook I bought when I first married Neil, specifically for recording our so-called sweet married life. I searched for all kinds of romantic events online and reached a total of 99. They were all listed in the notebook, which had exactly 99 pages.
Each page was titled with a different thing.
The first page was titled, “Go watch a romance movie with him, share a coke, and eat popcorn,”
The blue ink was already faded, but behind this line was black ink saying, ‘Done, which was clearly recent
I was stunned and thought of the time Neil asked me to go to the movies with him. Was it because he read this notebook that I had forgotten?
Was he really planning to follow the records here and complete the 99 things one by one?
I felt a mix of emotions, unsure whether I was sad or regretful.
“Still up?” Russel’s voice suddenly broke the silence.
“No, why are you here?” I quickly put away the notebook and looked at Russel, who was walking in with surprise.
He looked tired, he probably hadn’t rested well recently. The objections from his family were a mental pressure for him,
Russel walked to my bed with a slight smile on his face, 1 missed you, so I just came to check on you. Has Neil been here?”
He sat on the chair with his long, slender fingers gently crossed and spoke in a very calm voice.
I nodded, “Yeah, he came to ask if I really wanted to be with you; I’ve been asked this question several times.”
“Have you decided? Russel’s eyes were fixed on me, and I could sense a trace of unease in his gaze.
“I have, but Russel, you really need to think it through. I can’t have children, and you’ll face a lot of criticism for being with me. I think Russel was the one who had to really think it through
Russel’s smile deepened, and the unease in his eyes turned into a gentle glow, I’ve thought it through; I won’t regret it”

I listened to Russel speak, his voice was steady, clear, and very pleasing, just like him. He was always very charming

“Don’t worry, I know your decision to be with me is not because you like me but because you want to completely cut off any connection with Nell, I’ve said before that i can accept you using me, so you don’t need to feel guilty. Russel was like the smartest paychologist ever, he had a clea understanding of my state of mind.
“Let’s give it a try, maybe time will bring us closer.” I said.
Russel stroked my hair very affectionately, “Yeah, sure.”
Just when the atmosphere was getting a bit steamy. I suddenly remembered something, “Russel, did you tell my mom about me and Nell having dinner together when Louis invited us?”
This question was always on my mind. I’ve always had some doubts about Russel, so I might as well clear them up.
Russel seemed a bit helpless, “You don’t know that your mom added Mitch and them on WhatsApp? That idiot Mitch posted a photo, although he deleted it when he realized it was wrong, but I think your mom might have seen it.”

“Alright, it’s time to sleep: it’s almost dawn” Russel looked out the window. The days in summer were long and the nights were short. It was only a little after five, and the sky was already starting to light up.
I was really sleepy and felt mentally exhausted, so I didn’t say anything and just closed my eyes to rest.
I dreamed about Nell again that night, reliving the first time I saw him. I just stared at him, and he gave me this cool, casual eyebrow raise and a glance.
Back then, I was just a girl, and he was a lively boy. In the blink of an eye, our story had been going on for over a decade. Wasn’t it crazy how time just flew by?
When I woke up, photos of me and Russel getting all cozy had spread all over the internet. Some people were fanning the flames, so it caught fire really quickly.
