I totally wanted to make a U–turn and speed off, but Stella and her daughter were still in my car, I had no choice but to suck it up and drop them off at their doorstep.
“My wife is back! Mitch, all dressed up, probably just got back from work. Seeing Stella get out of my car, he immediately rushed over to pick up Lella and enthusiastically greeted Stella.

I drove in silence, heading to Russel’s apartment. I’d been there once before and remembered the general route.
“I had a blind date today: Russel broke the silence first, “We met, had dinner, and chatted”

Russel had changed his clothes. He was now in a white t–shirt and gray pants, very simple and casual. God had been kind to him, leaving almost no traces of age on his face, so as long as he changed his style a bit, he looked very young

Boomer seemed to remember me in the cage, he kept meowing, trying to get close to me, but without success.
“Boomer is looking more handsome” I leaned in to look at the kitten, unable to suppress my compliment.
“You hold the cage I’ll drive.” Russel suddenly handed the cage to me.
I didn’t know which pet store he was going to, so I switched places with him and sat in the passenger seat holding the cage, occasionally teasing Boomer. On the way, Russel and I hardly spoke a few words
After we arrived at the pet store, I didn’t get out of the car with Russel.
Tll call a friend to pick me up later. You can go ahead,” Russel said to me from outside the car window, holding the cat cage.
