Before he knew Celeste was his daughter, he thought highly of Liam in every aspect, even more so than his own son.
But the moment he found out Celeste was his child, Liam’s flaws became glaringly apparent.
Liam was too tall, always making him look up when they spoke, too handsome, appearing like a playboy, too focused on work, neglecting his own family. The most unbearable thing was that he divorced Celeste, leaving his precious daughter with nothing!

Feeling awkward about the topic, Celeste coughed and said, “I’ll go get some drinks.”
With that, she hurriedly left the room, dragging a still shocked Trisha along, leaving Liam alone to deal with Hiram.
Hiram glanced at Liam, about to sit down, when he heard Liam say, “Make yourself comfortable, have a seat.”
Hiram instantly stood back up, “I prefer standing. It’s good for my knees.”
Liam paused, picked up a leg stretcher from beside the sofa, and bent down to place it at Hiram’s feet.
“Hiram, give this a try. It’s good for the knees.”
Hiram thought to himself, is this guy thick–skinned or what? Can’t he tell I’m just messing with him?
Liam continued, “Celeste uses it for stretching, but it’s actually very beneficial for the knees.”
He stepped on it to show Hiram, “Want to try?”
Hiram was originally planning to snub him, but upon hearing that Celeste often uses it, his interest was piqued.
The leg stretcher is a device that allows people to stand on it to stretch their calves. If a person who doesn’t exercise regularly stands on it, they will feel pain after a while.
Hiram stood on it and instantly felt the pain, his face turning pale.
He thought, this kid Liam, is he trying to make me embarrass on purpose?

Liam was taken aback, pressing on, “Didn’t you just say you were here to see her?”
Hiram suddenly realized he’d slipped up, quickly correcting himself, “I did come to check on Nana.”
Liam chuckled lightly without saying a word.
But his eyes looked a bit complicated.
This shameless bloke, Steven, couldn’t win over Celeste by himself, so he got his dad to step in?
Apart from this, Liam couldn’t think of any other reason that would make Hiram change his attitude towards him. He must see Letti as his future daughter–in–law, which is why he’s giving him, the ex–husband, the cold shoulder.
No wonder he hasn’t been allowed to play matchmaker for Steven recently, turns out they’re planning to invade his territory!
“Hasn’t three minutes passed yet?”
Hiram couldn’t hold back anymore and asked again.
Liam glanced at the timer showing three minutes and fifty–eight seconds, he casually said, “Only a minute and a half has passed, hang in there a bit longer.”
