Celeste froze for a beat, quickly shaking off her shock, she pulled her foot back in a rush, fumbled to adjust her clothes and coughed to clear her throat, then greeted, “Hey, good morning.”
Liam, on the other hand, was surprisingly cool as a cucumber. No trace of awkwardness on his face after being caught kissing Celeste’s ankle, he even greeted Hiram naturally, “Mr. Hiram, what brings you here this early?”
Hiram’s face went from surprise to shock to disbelief, then finally settled into a clear scowl.
“I came to see my granddaughter,” he grumbled.
Liam was confused.
Celeste whispered, “He means Nana.”
Liam was speechless.
Hiram had been dropping by to see Nana recently, but Celeste was always busy. Whenever he came by, it was mostly Trisha who entertained him. Their brief interactions were only when Celeste just got home and Hiram was leaving, barely managing to exchange greetings.
Celeste was baffled that a little robot could attract the CEO of a listed company to come by every now and then.
Just a few days ago, she was considering discussing with Liam about selling a few roberts to Hiram’s family once they start mass production, considering Hiram’s apparent fondness for Nana. It could make a nice profit for Liam.
Of course, she didn’t expect Hiram to come by early in the morning to see Nana and stumble upon such an awkward scene
Liam was a bit puzzled.
Hiram came by early in the morning just to see Nana?
That just didn’t sit right with him.
Given Hiram’s close ties with the Reed family, shouldn’t he come to him if he’s interested in Nana?

As Celeste put on her coat, she greeted, “Hiram, you’re here early today.”
Hiram was glaring at Liam, but when he heard Celeste, he instantly beamed, “I was going to contact you first before coming up. but I ran into Trisha downstairs and she invited me up, I hope I’m not being rude?”
“Of course not! You’re always welcome,” Celeste said, then turned to Hiram, “Nana is charging. Have a seat, I’ll get you some coffee.”
Hiram declined, “please don’t trouble yourself. I’ll be leaving soon,” he turned to look at Liam and asked, “What are you doing here instead of being at work this early?”
Liam glanced at him and slowly replied, “Dropping her off.”
“Dropping….” Hiram paused, “Dropping who off?”
Celeste pursed her lips, the answer was as clear as day.
So, when Trisha said Celeste didn’t come home last night, it was because she was at Liam’s?
Hiram instantly felt his blood pressure skyrocket.
He finally understood why Steven would lose his cool every time Liam was mentioned. He was about to lose his cool too!
