Trisha promptly raised her hand, but seeing the handprint on his face, she hesitated.
She gently touched the imprint on Nicolas face and asked softly. “Does it hurt?”

“Was I wrong?” Trisha frowned. “Wasn’t it you who didn’t explain properly? I was distancing myself from you for your own good”
“It seems it was my mistake.”
“It was your mistake” Trisha wanted to say how dare you kiss me without warning, but thought better of it and kept it to herself

She was a bit confused Why was she angrier at Nicolas words than his kiss?
Was it because she didn’t see Nicolas as a man, so a kiss didn’t matter?

She figured it was probably because Nicolas didn’t have a girlfriend, so she didn’t have to worry about overstepping boundaries and could ask for his help, which made her happy

Nicolas smirked and leaned in, whispering. “Can we make a deal, Trisha?”
Trisha glanced at him, “What deal?”
“I want to eat oxtail stewed in red wine this weekend”
Trisha’s eyelids twitched, “Do you think I’m a chef, capable of cooking anything?”
Nicolas grinned, “In my heart, you’re better than a chef. You’re the goddess of cooking”
Trisha was delighted by his words She responded, “That dish is complicated. It requires a lot of ingredients and takes days to make.”
“So, I’m not asking to eat it immediately. I’ll get the ingredients, you just cook‘ He turned his face, “Look at my injury. Since we became friends, you’ve tripped or hit me you don’t make it up to me, I might not be able to get up next time.”
Nicolas would say anything for food.
However, his words successfully evoke Trisha’s guilt. Despite the hassle of cooking, she readily agreed, “III list the ingredients, you buy them.”

Liam gave her an annoyed look, “You have the nerve to laugh?”
After hooking her arm into his, Celeste whispered, “If we act now, they’ll forget about us eavesdropping”

Liam hummed softly. “And how do you plan to make it up to me?”
Celeste leaned in close, nibbling his ear as she said, “How about behaving as the doctor ordered tonight?”
Feeling that the scolding was worth it, Liam was ready to go for it right then and there, “Then let’s head home now.”
