Chapter 924
The next morning, Liam woke up from his drunken stupor with a killer headache.
He tried to rub his temples, but his hand was pushed back down as soon as he lifted it.
He stopped moving, turned his head, and found Celeste lying beside him, her head resting on his arm.
Liam’s expression softened a bit, his thumb gently rubbing against her cheek.
Celeste felt a tickle and reached up to scratch.
Liam easily dodged her hand, and when she fell asleep again, he continued his rubbing.
Celeste, annoyed by her unsuccessful attempts, opened her eyes in frustration.
Then she and Liam locked eyes. The atmosphere instantly became awkward and charged.
“Last night, you were drunk and wouldn’t let go, so I had to stay, Celeste explained.
Liam hummed in response, seemingly accepting her explanation, but his expression didn’t show it.
His smirk seemed to say, ‘Keep fooling me
“I’m telling the truth. If you don’t believe me, ask Owen, Celeste retorted.
“Oh.”
Liam gently stroked her hair, watching her.
Celeste couldn’t stand the way Liam was looking at her. She covered his eyes with her hand and said, “Believe what you want!”
Liam chuckled, pulling her hand down to kiss it. “Were you afraid that I’d vomit in my sleep and choke to death?”
From the setup by the bed, it seemed like Celeste had done this more than once.
Every time Liam got drunk, she’d complain, but she took care of him better than anyone else.
Celeste paused, then seriously said, “Yes, I don’t have any standing now. If anything happened to you, I couldn’t even inherit your property. I’m not in a relationship with you for nothing.”
Liam was not mad at all; he even laughed for a while, then said, “Let’s go get our marriage certificate then. If I really die, at least that would protect you from-”
Celeste quickly covered Liam’s mouth, glaring at him and asking. “What nonsense are you talking about in the morning?”
Celeste was just joking, but she didn’t expect Liam to respond that way
Liam kissed her palm, then removed her hand, whispering, “I really want to get married again.”
Celeste ignored him
Liam continued, “I didn’t finish the ceremony the first time:”
Celeste glanced at him and said, “I finished; you didn’t.”

“So, let’s make up for it.”
He sat up, then suddenly paused. Why were his pants down to his legs?
He looked up at Celeste, his eyes shifting from confusion to a heated gaze.
“Letti.”
Liam called her.
Celeste turned around and asked, “What?”
Liam coughed a bit, his eyes s dodging the question, “Last night… were you willing?”

Liam seemed to struggle a bit. “I don’t remember much about last night, did I hurt you?”

“Do you think we… you know, last night?”

He was puzzled by Celeste’s reply, so he decided to ask directly, “Really?”
“Of course not!”
Celeste denied it promptly.
Liam was skeptical: “I’m not wearing any clothes.”

Liam felt extremely embarrassed
Celeste bit her lip, trying hard not to laugh.
She tried to comfort him, saying, “Don’t worry, Owen is one of us. He won’t tell anyone. Besides, he won’t care even if he saw you. He’ll just feel inferior.”
Liam glanced at her embarrassingly. He didn’t find this comforting.
After teasing Liam, Celeste happily went to wash up
She really liked the drunk Liam, with his beautiful eyes revealing innocent stupidity. He never got mad, no matter how she teased him. If he pretended to be mad, he would immediately try to appease her. Although his words were clumsy, they were irresistible.
