Chapter 918
Celeste’s heart skipped a beat. She nudged Liam with her elbow. “Are you pretending to be drunk?!”
Liam winced. “Doctor’s orders, babe. We gotta do the deed right now.”
Before he could finish, Celeste clamped her hand over his mouth in shock.
She glared at the man who seemed to have no filter at the moment.
What else would this guy have blurted out if she hadn’t stopped him?!
Liam was miffed at being silenced. He tried pulling her hand away, wanting her to let him speak.
But Celeste held firm, silencing him while signaling Sean to call Owen.
Once Owen pulled up, she quickly ushered Liam into the car, keen to avoid causing a scene.
In the car, she finally let go and leaned back in her seat.
Owen started the car and asked, “Sir, ma’am, where to?”
Before Celeste could respond, Liam blurted out, “Go home and make…uh”
Her face burning, Celeste clamped her hand over his mouth again. “To Pinecrest Manor,” she ground out
Seeing the couple in the rear–view mirror, Owen couldn’t help but tease, “Ma’am, do you need to swing by the pharmacy for some protection?”
Celeste:
What the hell was with Liam’s crew?!
Blushing, she snapped, “No need! Absolutely not!”
Drunk as Liam was, it wouldn’t make a difference.
Owen was taken aback by the apparent progression of their relationship to a level where protection was unnecessary.
Struggling for breath with his mouth covered, Liam squirmed. Celeste warned him, “Keep your mouth shut, got it? Or I’m kicking you out of this car!”
Liam blinked understandingly.
Only then did Celeste let go.
Liam was noticeably quieter now, but he held on to Celeste’s hand tightly, as if afraid she would leave.
In no time, he had her hand soaked in sweat
“You don’t find this hot?” Celeste was at a loss for words.
Liam shook his head. After a while, he said, “There’s still me.”

“Don’t worry.” Liam stroked her back soothingly, repeating, “There’s still me
His words were cryptic, but the deep, comforting voice felt like a warm current washing over her. Following his lead, Celeste ruffled his hair affectionately and muttered, “Dumbass.”
Liam soon fell asleep, and they arrived at Pinecrest Manor.
With Owen’s help, they managed to take Liam to his bedroom.
Drenched in sweat, Celeste looked around at the familiar surroundings, feeling like she was in a dream.
As Owen was about to leave, Celeste stopped him, “Wait for me. I’ll get things sorted here and we’ll leave together.”
Owen seemed surprised but didn’t ask any questions.
She had no idea how much Liam had drunk. But knowing him, he would definitely be throwing up later in the night.
As usual, she had him lie on his side with a pillow under his back to prevent him choking on his vomit. She laid out a small blanket by the bed and placed a spittoon on the carpet, just in case he threw up
After getting everything in place, Celeste gently stroked Liam’s hair. Looking at his peaceful face, she couldn’t help but soften. Just as she was about to leave, her wrist was grabbed.
With a tug, Liam pulled her down onto him.
“Can we do it now?”
