She figured they didn’t like her work because she wasn’t good enough.

Less than two months after she finished the script, a film company bought it.
Trisha knew many small–time actors from chatting in groups.
A few days ago, one of them shared some good news
He was going to play a role in a TV series and his pay was 30% higher per episode. Everyone was happy for him and they decided to celebrate at his place.
They drank quite a bit. The actor was so happy about his pay raise that he took out the script and excitedly said he would perform a scene for them.
At first, Trisha was just having fun with everyone else. But as she listened, she felt something was off

She took the script and compared it, the script the writer had sold was the exact version she had modified, without a single letter changed This angered Trisha The next day, she confronted the writer.
At first, they denied it. Then they said they sent the wrong draft. Then they offered to compensate her. When she insisted on having her nan the script, they even threatened her with the actor leaking the script.
Trisha was furious and publicly exposed the incident in several writers‘ groups.
The incident stirred a lot of commotion in the writers‘ circle, but it did not resolve the way she had hoped.
The script was made into a TV series, the writer still made money, and the actor who had shown her the script lost his role.
The company didn’t punish Trisha publicly. But after the last episode wrapped up, they told her to take a break.
Trisha knew she was being sidelined.
She was probably going to be asked to resign for some other reason after her vacation ended.
She didn’t want to work for this money–grubbing, heartless company anymore. But she felt guilty for getting her friend in trouble
Seeing Trisha’s upset face, Nicolas knew his guess was almost correct.
“So they really got rid of you?”
She gently pushed away his approaching face and said listlessly, “Just shut up.”
Nicolas hummed in response, “Who else could work six days a week, 12 hours a day, with insufficient rest, and still be ready to jump off the bed in
a second even if woken up by the boss in the middle of the night? Is your boss nutty? How could he even think of firing you?”
Thinking of all those years she had spent working overtime, all the effort she had put into her work, only to end up in this mess, Trisha couldn’t help but curse, “He’s such a moron!”
Nicolas chimed in, “A total moron.”
