Chapter 869
“My dignity,” Celeste adamantly refused to go to the hospital, “I’ve been drugged with an aphrodisiac. What use is going to the hospital? To let doctors stare at me? I can’t handle that kind of humiliation!”
She was trembling, and Liam felt a pang of heartache watching her, “Then what do you suggest we do?”
Curling up, Celeste held her knees, “It’s just an aphrodisiac. I’ll take a cold shower, and it’ll wear off.”
She was very stubborn, leaving Liam with no choice but to run the bath.
He thought about Celeste on the bed, tormented by the drug, and pursed his lips slightly.
Once the bath was ready, Liam came out to call her.
Celeste was lying on the bed, already somewhat delirious from the drug.
Hearing Liam call her, she weakly sat up.
After looking at her for a couple of seconds, Liam bent down, picked her up, and carried her to the bathroom.
As her body was submerged in the water, Celeste immediately frowned, “Why is it hot?”
Liam said, “The cold water pipe is broken. There’s only hot water it’s okay, itll cool down after a while.”
Celeste started to feel uncomfortable, “How long is it going to take?”
Liam took a cup and sat down by the tub, “I’ll help you. It’ll cool faster this way.”
Under normal circumstances, Celeste would have realized how ridiculous Liam’s suggestion was.
How long would it take for a tub full of water to cool down if you were scooping it up and pouring it out with a small cup?
But now, she didn’t think it was unreasonable at all. In fact, she even thought Liam was being more considerate than usual.
She was soaking in the tub fully clothed, while Liam sat on the edge scooping up water with a cup.
The steam from the bath filled the room, and before long. Liam’s shirt was soaked through.
With his shirt sticking to his body, Celeste felt as if her vision had improved, as she could clearly see the muscle definition on Liam’s body through
his shirt.
Beautiful and well–built
The heat inside her didn’t decrease, but instead flared up even more.
She averted her gaze, reminding herself of the church’s teachings, the desire for beauty is animalistic, but she still couldn’t calm down!
Suddenly, she opened her eyes and looked at Liam
His shirt was completely soaked through, and his hair was half–wet as well. He had brushed his bangs back at some point
Seeing her staring at him intently, Liam asked in a low voice, “Are you feeling better?”
Watching his Adam’s apple bob as he spoke, Celeste felt her mouth go dry.
She turned her head away, but soon found herself looking back at him.
“Liam, are you…are you hot?”
Liam said, “A little.”
It was a tub full of hot water, plus it was summer. Sitting by the tub, there was no way he wouldn’t feel hot
“Why don’t you take off your shirt?”
Liam paused, looking down as he said, “That wouldn’t be proper.”
Celeste’s rationality had flown out the window. She said, “Just take off your shirt. Won’t you feel cooler that way? It’s not like I haven’t seen you
shirtless before.”
Liam said, “There’s no need. Once the effects of the drug wear off, I’ll just take a shower.”
Celeste was speechless.
He was wearing a shirt soaked to transparency, making her feel even more uncomfortable than if he was completely bare. It was like she was starving for three days, and there was a plate of mouth–watering barbecue in front of her, but she could only look and not eat.
“Liam…”
Celeste called his name again, her voice soft and fluffy.
Liam grunted in response, not lifting his eyes.
