She thought she had a pretty good thing going with Janis. If Clair became her daughter–in–law. With her connection to Janis, Clair would certainly take care of her.
Mrs. Kelley was almost amused by the idea at the time.
Relying on a stranger instead of her own son?

She didn’t know her son at all.
Mrs. Kelley could never fathom how a man like Orville Reed could ever fall for a scatterbrained, dim–witted woman like Skyler
Yet she still underestimated Skyler’s stupidity. Skyler didn’t mind playing dirty, even when the target was her own son
She went to Mrs. Kelley with a plan to drug Liam and then get Clair into his room. She wanted to force a relationship between them
She didn’t want to do the dirty work herself, so she needed Mrs. Kelley’s help
What Skyler didn’t know was that the once loyal Mrs. Kelley had already betrayed her
How could Mrs. Kelley let her plan succeed?
Skyler was not to return to the Reed family Mrs. Kelley would make sure of that. The things Skyler cared about most were the things she couldn’t have. This would be the best revenge against Skyler.
Mrs. Kelley did not follow Skyler’s instructions Instead, she had someone give Liam a sleeping pill. The pill would at most make him sleep for two hours. Meanwhile, she contacted Celeste, hoping she could lend her a hand.
After all, the enemy of your enemy is your friend. She planned to use this to win over Celeste and join forces against Skyler.
But her plan failed. Celeste didn’t even wait for her to finish speaking before she blocked her.
Mrs. Kelley had no other choice but to kidnap Celeste directly.
What she hadn’t expected was that another group was also kidnapping Celeste, and was spotted by the people she had arranged.
Mrs. Kelley wanted to call the police at the time, but the group left after sending Celeste into the hotel room. She then had another plan – to swag
the two girls.
Rescue Celeste, and help her get together with Liam. Mrs. Kelley was sure that if she could do that, Liam wouldn’t refuse to help her deal with her nasty husband in the future.
Of course, there was one thing she hadn’t considered.
She didn’t expect that Clair would send Liam to the hotel room herself, and Clair didn’t seem to be surprised that Liam was drugged at all.
After all, a normal person would call the police if they saw someone pass out like that, or at least send them to the hospital, right?
But none of this mattered to Mrs. Kelley and she didn’t want to think about it too much.
She took out some cash from her purse and handed it to one of the men, “Lay low for a while, and come back when things have settled down. (1 take care of everything. I won’t let you guys take the fall”
Celeste’s hands were tied in front of her, and her eyes were covered.
The effect of the drug had worn off. Now she was feeling unbearably hot all over, and what frightened her more than the discomfort was her current situation.
She didn’t know where she was, but anyone who would give her such a vile drug was obviously up to no good.
Was it rape, or human trafficking?
For a moment, Celeste even imagined herself being violently assaulted and Liam crying over her dead body.
Celeste struggled, the drug in her body making her feel hot and weak.
She could hardly even turn over, let alone breaking free from the bondage
Just as she was struggling, a hand suddenly touched her on the waist
Celeste froze.
Was there someone else around?
