Mason chuckled thinking of her stiff–as–a–board reaction, “Not at all, but your reaction was quite amusing I didn’t know you would be so afraid.”
She weakly explained. “I wasn’t always this scared. I used to be just disgusted by bugs. But then that asshole Liam put a bug on my face once. Since then, I tremble at the sight of those things.”
Mason went silent and took a sip of his water
After a while, he said, “You wanted advice on how to claim your mother’s house?”
“Yes,” Celeste immediately became serious when they got down to business, “According to Shawn, the house my grandfather left my mother hasn’t been transferred I remember it was mentioned in my grandfather’s will. Shawn shouldn’t have a claim over this house. But my mom once mortgaged this house for a bank loan, which they paid off together So I’m not too sure I wanted to know whether I can still claim this house.”
“If there was a will, then the ownership of the house would be pretty clear The loan they paid off together also benefited them both, so this shouldn’t affect the ownership of the house. And I’ve looked over the information you sent me. It seems like the house was self–built, with land ownership and property rights. If this is the case, Shawn can’t legally handle the sale of this land. That’s not allowed”
Celeste was thrilled. “So you mean I have a good chance of getting the house back?”
Mason nodded, “When are you free next? I can accompany you to the housing authority to check on the ownership of the house. It’s best if we also go see whether the house has been transferred and whether it’s occupied, like Shawn said”
