Naomi quickly caught on and flashed a smile, “We’re about to head back to the hotel, just wanted to get this task done quick, was only joking around. You didn’t have to get all worked up, it’s not a big deal to pick a bag”
Celeste gave her a glance and nonchalantly replied, “I don’t think it’s a big deal. Sydney is willing to gift me bags and I’m quite happy about it. But the way you said it, it sounds like Sydney gifting me bags is some kind of insult? I don’t mind, but if this gets out, it might give Sydney a bad name for bullying newcomers. Isn’t that causing trouble for Sydney?”
Sydney’s expression changed immediately.
Naomi was fuming.
This woman was sharp–tongued, shifting the conflict onto her and Sydney with just a few words. She had truly underestimated her!
Naomi dropped the argument, gave her a cold glance and said, “Everyone knows what kind of person Sydney is. No one can slander her: You better focus on which bag you want. Try to pick a new one, so it doesn’t look like you’re carrying a second hand bag”
The crowd had various reactions. It was clear that her words were meant to insult Celeste
Celeste, nonchalant as ever, turned to Sydney with a smile, “Sydney, can I pick any bag?”
Sydney was studying Celeste’s expression.
She didn’t seem upset at all, instead, she seemed quite happy.
This wasn’t the scene Sydney wanted.
She smiled softly, “Some of these bags are borrowed, and I need to return them. Others are my personal bags. She gestured towards the wall on the north, “You can pick any bag from there”
The bags displayed there were all out of season, not a single classic style in the lot and the colors were all over the place.
Someone exclaimed, “Oh my god, are all of these going to be thrown away?”
“Sydney, it’s such a waste to discard these bags. You could sell them on a second hand website to recover some costs.”
Sydney brushed her hair lightly. “These things aren’t worth much. Selling them wouldn’t get a lot either, so I think it’s better to give them away.
She paused and looked at Celeste, “Celeste, you pick. Don’t be shy, you can take whatever you like.”
Celeste surprised everyone by asking. “Can I take them all?”
