Celeste said, “Last summer, your sister got into some trouble, right? She accidentally hurt somebody and you guys got hit with a huge compensation claim?”
After the surprise attack from Liam and his gang the previous night, Lucilla was able to handle herself with calmness.
“Yeah, how did you know about that?” She asked.
“That’s not important, Celeste said slowly, “You were desperate for cash, so Shawn reached out to you. You borrowed money from him, and he put forward a proposal he’ll help you out financially, but you have to be his mistress. He’ll give you money each month to help you pay off your debt. With no other options, you agreed, and that’s how you became his plaything, night?”
Remembering some unpleasant memories, Lucilla’s face turned pale.
She ran into Shawn at a campus recruitment event while accompanying her roommate for an interview
During the lecture, she felt someone watching her from the stage. When it ended, Shawn came over, asked her name, and if she was interested in working at his

Her exam results hadn’t been released yet and she was planning to further her studies, so she turned him down.
But because she filled out some information at the event, Shawn called her a couple of days later, inviting her for dinner
Lucilla was repulsed by his advances, especially because he was older than her dad it was gross, so she blocked his number
But then her sister’s accident happened and she had no choice but to become his mistress. The irony and embarrassment were overwhelming.
So, with a touch of hostility, she asked, “What’s your point?”
Celeste slowly said, “Ms. Preston, don’t you find it suspicious that Shawn contacted you right when you were in dire need of money?”
Lucilla was taken aback, “What are you implying?”
Celeste continued. “There are no such things as coincidences. Shawn is no philanthropist. My mother was his university classmate. She invested in him, helped him start his business, only for him to betray her when she was pregnant. He started a relationship with a high school girl using the same tricks he used on you. I used to believe that he genuinely loved his current wife, enough to cause my mother’s death. But now it seems, he’s just a scumbag who’s out for young, beautiful girls, stopping at nothing to satisfy his desires. He could kill my mother for his current wife, he could frame his current wife for you, and who’s to say he won’t ruin you for the next girl? No, he’s already ruined you.”
Celeste finished speaking and pulled out a piece of paper from her bag.
“This is the call record between the guy who harassed your sister and Shawn. Look at the date” Celeste said.
Lucilla looked at it, the call was made before her sister’s accident

This fact made Lucilla break out into a cold sweat
The man she’d given her body to was the same man who’d orchestrated the harassment of her sister!
He ruined her life, forced her to drop out of school, pushed her into a comer, and then dressed himself up as a savior, making her feel grateful.
How could anyone be so evil and disgusting!
Celeste handed her a bank card, “Ms. Preston, there’s money in this card for you. Help me with one thing, and once it’s successful, I’ll give you more. It’ll be enough to pay off your debts, set up a new shop for your sister, and live a decent life.”
Lucilla didn’t agree.
