Chapter $18
Celeste got off the car.
They entered the elevator when Liam suddenly said, “I was wondering if the rain outside had gotten any heavier.”
“Probably not. The weather forecast didn’t mention any rain. I’m guessing it’s just a shower and it’ll stop soon.”
“The last time it rained, it lasted for two whole hours.”
Celeste immediately recalled the awkward situation, when they got soaked in the rain last time.
“Well, let it rain. We’re not gonna get wet this time.”
After finishing her sentence, the elevator door opened and Liam walked out, saying casually, “Driving might become unsafe because of the rain.”
Celeste paused, suddenly understanding why Liam kept bringing up the rain. Turned out, he was looking for an excuse to stay
“Just drive slowly and you’ll be fine, she chuckled inside but kept a serious face, I’m home now You should go too.”
Liam looked a bit disappointed, “I want to see you go in.”
He thought Celeste would soften up because of his “pitiful” look and invite him in for tea, but she simply said “goodbye” and closed the door Liam sighed quietly as
he watched the closed door.
Celeste changed into her house clothes, and for some reason, she remembered Liam’s disappointed look when he wanted to stay but didn’t dare to say it loud.
She walked to the door, stood there for a while, and then opened the door.
Outside, Liam was crouching and daydreaming. Seeing her open the door, he looked up in surprise.
Celeste’s heart started racing.
“Why haven’t you left yet?”
“I wanted to stay a little longer
‘I used to stay longer with you and you found me annoying.”
Liam wanted to say he never found her annoying, but recalling his previous words and actions, he shut his mouth.
“That was my mistake.”
Only then did Celeste feel satisfied.
Trisha isn’t back yet, you can come in and wait for a while until the rain stops.”
Liam’s eyes suddenly lit up, he stood up and followed her inside. Celeste bent down to get him some slippers.
Suddenly, Liam hugged her from behind.
Celeste lightly patted his arm, “Change your shoes first.”
Liam didn’t say a word, instead, he kissed her collarbone. Celeste shivered and pushed him away.
“Stop fooling around.”
Her push was gentle, which to Liam, seemed like encouragement.
He didn’t let go Instead, he held her hand tighter and started kissing her from her collarbone, up her neck, to her chin, and finally reached her lips. He paused for a moment, gave her a shallow kiss, and then deepened it, entangling with her tongue.
Celeste wanted to resist at first, but she had no strength from the get–go, and it felt more like she was playing hard to get. She had to admit, being kissed by Liam like this, slowly heated things up, and made her lose control.
A voice inside her told her that she must stop. What they were doing was very dangerous. Nothing was confirmed between them yet, it was irresponsible
Another voice was encouraging her. They were adults, what couldn’t they do? They’ve had intimate contact before, what was the difference between once and a hundred times? After all, she always had a thing for him.
