Since she had a date with Dr. Ledford, Trisha swapped her usual wear for an A–line skirt.
She grabbed Celeste’s curling iron and gave her hair a quick do–over.
She wasn’t adept at intricate makeup, so she just powdered her face and dabbed on some lipstick to give herself a bit of color. Then, she slung her gym bag over her shoulder and headed out
Nicolas was sitting in the living room, leafing through the book on the table.

Seeing her emerge, Nicolas asked, “Your book?”

“Not really” Nicolas closed the book and set it aside “Like it says in the book, how can only be one rose in my garden?”

Trisha shook her head, ‘I’ve never been confident, I just don’t want to have regrets. At least I’ve tried, even if we don’t end up together. I have no regrets”
Nicolas scoffed, after a while, stood up, and said, “Let’s go ”
Liam was held up on his way and frowned as soon as he pushed the door open to the rendezvous point.

She never believed in deep affection and thought Liam’s problem was that he hadn’t interacted with enough women. If he interacted with more, he would realize that there were plenty of women like Celeste who only had appearances, while those like Clair, who were both inside and out, were truly worthy of him
