‘Mrs. Garber, don’t talk nonsense,”
Mrs. Kelley deliberately reminded her that even if Celeste wasn’t that great, she was still Skyler’s daughter-in-law. It was okay to joke around, but going too far was a bit inappropriate.
But Mrs. Garber thought Mrs. Kelley didn’t believe her. “I’m not talking nonsense. I have a nephew who used to work at the Traffic Management Bureau. He was involved in the investigation of that accident back then. He said the car was seriously damaged, and both people should have died. Skyler took a sip of tea, indifferent, “At such an old age and still so naive, Mr. Garber is quite lucky”
The sarcasm in her words was clear, and even the slow-witted Mrs. Garber could understand the meaning. Her face turned pale, but she didn’t dare to refute
Skyler had only intended to invite Mrs. Meyer today, and the other two were just accompanying her. But Mrs. Garber gossiped in public. and Skyler didn’t lose her temper on the spot only out of consideration for her reputation.

Liam was flipping through the documents with his mind absent, and Owen doubted his boss had paid much attention to his report Liam used to be very focused at work, and his work efficiency was even demanding to the point of using every second precisely. He was like a machine with precise calculations, clearly arranging what to do at what time.
If you asked those around him what was the most important thing in Liam’s mind, everyone would unanimously think it was work. But recently, Liam’s frequent loss of focus made it seems like this “working machine” seemed to have malfunctioned, and the malfunction was most likely due to his wife.
Owen thought for a moment and said, “Mr. Reed, your wife went to see your mother today.”

Owen continued, “Your mother invited a few friends over to the house today, and your wife went to accompany her.”
“Can she accompany them? People may not like listening to her. Does my mom think those women are too noisy and want her to shut them up?”
In Owen’s mind, Celeste was indeed overbearing when speaking to Liam, but she was still polite and well-mannered in front of others. However, saying this would probably anger his boss. A good assistant should be good at observing and choosing words carefully. “Those ladies are all savvy women in the circle, and your wife is young and innocent. I’m afraid she’ll be at a disadvantage.*
Liam sneered, “She doesn’t have the social ability, but she still insists on going. She should learn some social skills in the circle even if she suffers a loss.”
At this point, all Owen could do was shut up.
