After leaving Redwood Ridge Estates, the young agent offered to call a car to take Celeste home.
Celeste glanced at her and felt it was unnecessary. She told the agent, “My friend is not far from here. I can walk there.”
Then, the agent left.
Celeste strolled along the street, feeling tired after an afternoon of house hunting. But things would most likely work out, she felt more at ease.
There was still some distance to Trisha’s apartment, but there was a restaurant nearby with fantastic food. Celeste wanted to go there and get something for Trisha as well.
As she walked, a Maybach slowly followed her.
Celeste looked at the car suspiciously, and Steven took off his sunglasses, waved at her, and said, ‘Ms Campbell, what a coincidence.”
Celeste replied, “Hello, Mr Garcia.”
Steven looked her up and down, from her hair to her heels. Celeste felt uncomfortable but thought about him being her boss and had to endure it. Celeste asked, “Are you here to take care of some business, Mr. Garcia?”
Steven looked away and answered, “Yeah, just finished, Where are you headed, Ms Campbell?”
“Going home.”
“Perfect, I’m heading back to the city too. I can give you a ride.”
Celeste didn’t really want to share a car with her boss, she hadn’t figured Steven out yet and wasn’t familiar with him.
Celeste tried to decline, “No need. It’s easy to get a taxi around here.”
Steven smiled slightly and said, “Ms Campbell, you don’t seem very friendly towards me.”
Celeste replied, “I just don’t want to trouble you.”
“I don’t mind at all.”
Having no choice, Celeste decided to respect the man who paid her salary.
So she said, “In that case, I’ll trouble Mr Garcia to give me a lift.”
The scent in Steven’s car was the same as in his office, very comfortable and refreshing.
After Celeste buckled her seatbelt, Steven asked, “So, what brings Ms Campbell to this area?”
“House hunting,” Celeste replied sincerely. After all, she’d have to provide her address when registering her company info, so there was no point in hiding it.
“Is it Redwood Ridge Estates?”
Celeste nodded.
Steven kindly said, “You know, Redwood Ridge Estates‘ developer has been involved in lawsuits recently. Their housing prices might not increase much in the next few years. Redwood Ridge Estates has a high occupancy rate, mainly with young folks, which isn’t ideal for actors. If you’re looking to buy a house around here, you might wanna consider Grandview Heights instead.”
